    Your describing an extremely rare condition as a leaking fuel injector to the point of ruining an engine. Before that would ever happen, yes you would notice something is wrong with the engine running behavior that is not right. Also always change your oil at 3000 miles or 3 months (which you should because you own a BMW), and you'll be fine. And, it doesn't matter if you are using synthetic or regular oil because all oil gets DIRTY!
