There’s so much good about this video, from the sewing to the music to the style and lighting, the well placed details, the humor, the adorable cat! Clearly you were too good for the ex, and the breakup was fueled by an inferiority complex.
Haha, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed all the shenanigans in the video and that you appreciate how cute Julian the cat is. On the bright side, if the breakup never happened then I wouldn't have taken the time to learn how to edit videos and make kirtles. So things end up the way the should sometimes, even if it doesn't seem like it at first!
I've lost count of how many times I've made this pattern, thanks to going to the Renaissance Festival as often as I do! Haha, I always ALWAYS forget to clip my markers, whoops! If I can make a suggestion, a few more steady shots for your drama shots (such as the lovely shot of the rain on your succulents) would be great! I've got issues with equilibrium and shakey cameras so it's one of the things I always notice. Your Sea Cat-ain is the CUTEST BABY OH MAH GOODNESS!
The struggle is real! I even re-cut out a few pieces and forgot to clip the markers again. It might be time to invest in a little camera stabilizer. Some of that shaky footage drives my crazy but I'm not good at standing still lol. Captain Jule Bean says thanks! He's the best little dude.
Found you through the Historybounding facebook group and just wanted to say that this was delightful and I hope you will keep making these. Also, Julian is a good and handsome boy. :)
Medieval, LotR, yes!! Love this, fellow historybounder! You're living the dream right there, with horses and all.❤ Oh well, I have my bow and pretend to be Legolas.😇 I love the end result. I realise I NEED to have a kirtle. Also, love your cat! First time I saw him lying on the bed as you ironed, I thought I saw our wegie. He has EXACTLY the same colours! Is your pirate a maincoon?
Yay LotR! Thanks. That's so cool that you do archery. I tried once or twice but gave myself a pretty gnarly bruise. Awww, kitty twins! My best friend has a cat that looks like him too, so Wegie has two twinsies. I've wondered if he's a maine coon. His mom just showed up in the hay shed and had kittens, but he's the only fluffy one. His sister is a calico, so who knows?
First, can we discuss how much I wish I was single (and childless) during a pandemic (married 14 years and I have an 8 year old and 12 year old) so I could sew from sun up until sun down! *dreams* Second, you amaze me with the bedsheets I just love your resourcefulness!
Aww, thank you! I hope you still get to sneak some good sewing time in! I do feel lucky that I've been able to go full nerdy introvert during all of this and dive into all the historical-ish bed sheet sewing I've always wanted to do.
That cat is so funny! What a character.
Great work💖💖
I love the teeny weeny iron.
you had me at the Ruth Goodman comment ❤️
Haha she's the best isn't she! 💖
I love your video. I saw your post on Facebook and I am proud to now be subscriber #2!! Your cat is a very good overseer. 💖
Awww Thank you from me and Julian! Glad you enjoyed it.
Love this! It brought out the history nerd in me and now I’m looking at how to get a pattern and sewing machine! 🤦🏽♀️ More content please!
Yay history! If you're ever back in the states you can borrow my sewing machine and pattern 😋
Beautiful dress, and such a great color!
Just a tip. Simplicity includes seam allowance
Thanks! It was the first time I'd used a pattern in a while. It certainly taught me a lot of what not to do. lol
This is delightful and makes me fear sewing much less!
That's wonderful! Half the fun is figuring things out as you go along. Can't wait to see what you do!
Your dress billows beautifully in the wind. So romantically feminine yet virago.
Thank you! Getting to wear a billowing dress on a noble steed was a dream come true.
I love the whole mood in this video
Thanks! Tis the vibe.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it (and my handsome fellow). I'm now planning to make a whole historical wardrobe out of bedsheets.
Arwen? Yes, please.
I like your style. New subscriber and hello.
I also often ask myself WWRGD?
Thanks! Right? When I grow up I want to be like Ruth Goodman.
This is just such a mood, I love it!

Failed relationship = mockup... I died :D
Lol. I'll now be referring to my ex as a pattern piece that needed some adjustments to ensure a proper fit 🤣
@@katencat please do :D
Haha I love this!
