Hi again from Carinthia, Austria, my dear Kirsten! Again such a joy to watch you producing the most unique prints. I can only agree with the previous comments! Your are indeed the gelliqueen, the GREATEST inspiration, you are FUN and JOY, AWSOME and you have the most lovely accent and voice! You made my day!
I meant to reply last night Judith, I’m so sorry!!!! You’ve made my day too!!!!!! I was having a bit of a “family dynamics” (aka disagreement with my other half)day today, all resolved now but Sundays can be stressful considering it’s meant to be a day of rest 🙄😂 so your other comment was so perfectly timed 🥰, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very fun Kirsten! I have seen people use playdoh to pick up textures to use on the gelliplate before but I really like how you created your own designs into the playdoh! So creative and I love your results! 💖
Ah you know I love to add my own design (wonder if I’m a bit of a narcissist 🤨🤔😂). Plus I didn’t want to just rehash Shawna video. I’m excited for you teaching your husband the gel plate. I might get Stuart enthused to use it too 🥳
I’m in a “make neutrals” collage papers mode at the moment and I think I will definitely give this a go. Looks like a great mini project for me…I really admire how you make your own unique designs 😀. I live in Nova Scotia but lived in Scotland many years ago. Went school there. I think part of the reason I enjoy your videos so very much is your lovely accent and your good humour. 👋
There is a definite sarcastic humour in most Scottish conversations!! I need to make more neutrals, I find it very hard to resist the bright colours, especially when there’s a few layers. I live near Glasgow. Nova Scotia must be lovely, in my 30s I always dreamed of emigrating….probably too old and not rich enough now 🙄😂
Hi Paige, how did it go? I tried air dry clay previously, got some good marks by putting gel plate on top of them…as they were unbendable!! I’m excited for you, I never knew proper excitement until I got my gel plate 😂🥳💃🏻😂
I only managed about 15 minutes before work yesterday but I am pleased so far. I was able to press the molds onto a painted gel plate and pull a couple interesting prints. The only fault I can find so far with the Crayola is that it dries a little fluffy--no severe lines or shapes. I also have a tub of cosplay air-dry foam. I haven't worked with it before so it will be interesting to see what might do.

I thought of that, I think it’s a bit wet and will leave sort of crumbs on plate, but that might be pretty interesting in itself. When it’s dry it’s hard, I tried making paper clay stamps and I’m too wonky to make a flat surface on it. Even with the gel plate applied on top of the stamps it wasn’t great. But it would be good rustic grungy style prints.
Hi leonie, I’m so glad…thank you!!!!! I’m thinking of trying plasticine although fear the acrylic paint will prevent repetition of the same design…but there’s only one way to find out… 😂
Cleaning up teenies rooms was definitely worth it and true to your style, dear Kirsten, you made the best of it. Your prints are amazing! 😍 Is there anything you don´t put on your gel plate to print? (I mean excluding sharp objects - whereas: I would love to see you use knife and forks 🤣) Like always: You ´ re the geliqueen! Love from Britta 🥰
I just watched yeates makes gel print a paintbrush. I could definitely do cutlery!!!! I’ve been nagging them all week to keep on top of the rooms…no hidey holes now 😈 Love to you too wonderful Britta ❤️
I agree 100%!!! And the wishy washy pink and gold just emphasised that. You have the best YT name ever. My ex used to answer the phone with “yellow trouser company, trousers for all occasions” which your name reminds me of. 😁
The studio name comes from a Robin Williams skit about women in comfortable shoes. I joked about it in college and it's stuck for 20 years. LOL ;) @@quirkyqueens
Samahra, you are wonderful!!!! Thank you sooooooooooooooooo much. I just love pottering about with it. I’ve been adding pastels to gel prints the last couple of days. I’m actually very happy with the results, quite a few of the blah ones have made a nice finished picture. ❤️
Aw thanks myriam, I’ve been watching your and Yolande replay. I wish I’d been there but weekday evenings are difficult, unless Stuart working away…then I can partaaaayyy 😂🤣😂🥳
Aw Susan, thank you!!!! That’s music to my ears. I like a fairly simple design but with a curve or a wiggle to it, instead of symmetrical…if that makes sense 🤪😂
This was so enjoyable to watch Kirsten!! I got a small tub of play-doh recently but haven't tried it yet. You always inspire me to try new things on my gel plate. I love your designs, they are so cool. So great, always!!
I’m so sorry Kathy, I’m so behind on comments. Please know I’ll always reply, especially to yours. I loved your vase on IG with the background added on. The grid paper is beautiful. I need to ask you about it, I think you’re sooooo talented ❤️
Superfly, I’ve missed you!!!! Sorry I’m so late replying, you should try it. It’s easy and no real mess or cleaning required (which is my perfect scenario)
I’ve been watching your videos Tricia. I really like you make full pictures with it (obviously I had some idea from fb). I will comment. I watch YT on tv so commenting at the time doesn’t happen.
@@quirkyqueens I totally understand! Thank you so much! I was always inspired by one of my best friends who taught mixed media art classes locally. She always taught fabulous techniques, and always had a class project so you left with a finished piece. I think I want to continue that idea on my channel whenever possible. There will always be sometimes when that isn’t possible. I love how you teach several techniques at a time, and with your own handmade tools. They are fabulous!
Hi Love this idea but I am a bit confused…do you let the play doh dry and it can be used repeatedly? This is my second time watching your videos and I really enjoy your aesthetic…
Hi C, thank you!!!! Don’t let it dry. Just squish it back in the tub when you’re done. It will have flakes of acrylic paint, but can be reused many times. How many I’m not sure but at least 10+, probably way more is my guess.

I made a few stamps with Crayola clay. I am trying them tomorrow. So excited!!! 🎉

Now I need to find my son's old play dough. I suppose old paperclay would work, too.

@@quirkyqueens it's a great thing that there are no rules and anything can be tried!
I really really love it!! One thought: there are alternative products, that have a better judgement (less-toxic) than playdoh.

You are one of TWO people who recommended Shawna to me today. 😂 Obviously, I subscribed and checked her videos out.
She has a good channel, I like her. I’ve been watching your paper dolls. I liked your big journal collaging papers together.
@@quirkyqueens thanks, luv. ❤️
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
I bought some play-doh from the $tore but haven't tried it out yet 🎉😂❤
Hi marguerite, it’s very easy and not messy. No faffing or cleaning. You just roll it back up, job done.
Suits me perfectly!! 😂❤️

Wonderful original prints. Creating your own original designs is such a grand thing!
