    Ingredients below:
    3 envelopes active dry yeast granules
    2/3 cup sugar, plus 1 teaspoon
    1 1/4 cup lukewarm water
    6 cups all-purpose flour, divided,plus more for shaping dough
    1 cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing a large bowl and baking sheets
    9 egg yolks
    2 large eggs plus 1 for egg wash
    Pinch of kosher or coarse sea salt

    I don’t do a lot of bread making, biscuits are about as hard as it gets, but I decided to try this recipe. Oh my gosh, it is so good. The family loved it and I hope to make it again, and soon. Que delicious!

    I tried your recipe today and absolutely loved it. It tastes it like authentic Oaxacan pan de yema. The one thing I did differently was to add sesame seeds after the egg wash. Thank you for posting this video!

      The recipe says 'All-Purpose' - While there is a difference between brands, it's not that big of a deal is it?

    Pati, do you make chili rellenos at the same time since you have all those leftover egg whites? Thanks for the video - I kept waiting for the 'add xxx amount of milk' that would prevent me from eating it (lactose intolerant), but there was none! Woo - I can eat them!
