Great information nice video but your music selection was terrible for someone who be interested in purchasing you didn't do a great job of selling the speakers we the consumer would like to hear them longer and more of a range of genre in music!!
Got one hell of a hole if the frequency for the 6.5" between 6khz to nearly 7khz. I know the speaker starts beaming @ around 2.6khz, so this speaker should be crossed over pretty low to get away from holes in the sound or away from distortion the speaker will inherently have at higher freqs. Also, probably need to get w/ your marketing people to fix your documentation on your speakers. DS18 has 8 inch freq graphs on 6.5 inch versions & vice versa for a few woofers.
Its a mid bass. Anything over 2.5k is really out of its sweet spot anyway. But good to know if people are trying to run it full range. Not a great full range speaker in that sense. But a solid mid bass for the price if your looking for the water resistant cone aspect of it.
Can the 6x9s be installed into the rear deck of a car? I'm trying to throw only low frequencies at the rear deck to try and get away without a sub. Will they work good for bass only?
Hey I just went to get my ds18 speakers set up. Two 6.5 pro 6.4bm and two 6x9 genx 6.9 and I was wondering why they sound distorted at high volume ??😢😢
I bought four 6.5 pro zt6 a couple months ago. What amp do you recommend for them, so i can get the best out of them without distortion? Also do you think these sound better than the ones that come with the horn (hybrid) ones yall have?
These woofers should not be used for any frequencies above 5khz. You'll need to crossover a tweeter between 3khz-4.5khz, for the 6.5", & put a low pass filter on the woofer to keep it from distorting the sound. The distortion if from the crappy frequency of the woofer, plus whatever your amp & head unit are adding on top of that. DS18's own frequency graph shows a hole in the sound for almost a full 1khz between 6khz-7khz as well.
Enclosure recommendations? Sealed/Ported/IB? T/S parameters? Lack of information in this video or anywhere online is why im steering clear. He literally pointed out that each of these speakers has a rubber surround and a dust cap...They should probably have a tech/engineer doing these videos instead of a salesman. Also, if I were going to do a demo, they would be in a proper enclosure (whatever that is) and crossover points set correctly. They sounded horrible and probably wouldn't if they knew what they were doing.
Video sound is bad, I'm pushing about 180 watts to each in my front doors, 6.5 and they sound clean and very loud. Buying two more for the back which has cheaper ds18 6.5.
All of the ds18 videos for there speakers are so bad and not good. Sounds bad, most of the time playing speakers in there hands and no enclosure wich sounds bad also. I know they sound better in person but man they sound bad in this video.
I had a set in my cart but what I just heard was totally AWFUL you need to cover the open holes and play something worth listening to -------- holy 💩 that was BAD
