Love New York, it gets under your skin, if you slow down while you’re there the city just overtakes you and wins :) The High Line is fantastic, been there 6 times including getting married there in 2009.
@@highlands2hammocks No we got married at the Ladies Pavilion in Central Park, can easily lose a day wandering the High Line though. Loving following your travels. 👌
This was ABSOLUTELY EPIC!!! Oh my gosh, I'm speechless! I'm an American who hasn't been to New York City yet, and this was the best vlog I've seen travel TH-camrs do so far. I totally felt your excitement and awe coming through! So beautiful ❤ I am SO EXCITED for the rest of this series, y'all have no idea!! I grew up in AZ and spent a lot of time in CA and have been to Vegas. I have been following on IG and I'm just so looking forward to this series ❤
Thanks so much Mel, we're so excited to share it all! It was such a bucketlist trip for us to go over there and we're so happy it finally happened 😁 an amazing place!
I live in the UK but at this moment in time my girlfriend queen Victoria lives in New York we only really get to see eachother two or three or times a year at the moment but hopefully that will change next year.. because the two of us have got to decide where we are going to live.. the UK New York or somewhere else it doesn't really matter were the end of the day long as we are together will both be happy 😊
Wow guys. This was worth the wait. I've been through NYC only a few times over the many years I lived in neighboring New Jersey. I did see Lady Liberty via a Circle Line cruise around Manhatten, back in the late 70's. So I was a wee one :) Enjoyed it as I recall. Suffice to say things have changed since then. What a ride on the helicopter. The views you had, and from atop the Empire State Building..just epic. Gemma your expressions were priceless. I can feel the enthusiasm. Wonderful stuff. And welcome back to YT
Aw thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed it 😁 we had such an incredible time there, an amazing city! I can imagine a lot has changed and been built since then!
Hari OM I confess I was having dejavu, being sure I had seen this before - turns out it wasn't you but another couple I follow who did almost exactly the same. I'll put my hand up and say that I only managed a few minutes. It's not a city that appeals or that I would do anything other than pass through. Way too frenetic for this old gal. But totally get that you were ready for it and would benefit from the experience. YAM xx
Fair enough Yam it’s not everyone’s cup of tea 😆 we were surprised by how much we loved it as I don’t do busy places usually! Cool to see the sights though 😁
Good Luck on your Tour of the U.S. Don't miss the Grand Canyon. If you do the North Rim, less people< you are close to Zion, Lake Powell and Bryce Canyon
@@highlands2hammocksawhile back you were looking to buy property in the Highlands, how has the progressed and would you be keen to open vacation options to your fans? Seems like a no brainer investment after van life.
First Time in New York City | WHAT TO DO..... LEAVE (and not to do..) STAY THERE Sorry guys, love your channel, but New York is THE worst place I've ever visited........And I've been to Mogadishu. However, to each their own. have fun!
So sorry you didn't enjoy your time there. We went in expecting it to be a bit chaotic and it definitely was that 😂 but I think a lot of it was nostalgic for us and there were so many things to do so we were always busy!
Amazing! I have done New York at Christmas, and a helicopter ride ,have a fabulous time
That must have been so lovely! We would love to see New York at Christmas 🥰 so festive!

Yes, I've seen a few vloggers film their NYC experience..these two may have topped them all. And totally agree about their emotions ..so palpable.
