- Ooh wee this is one of those projects where I decided the day before that this is what I was making and I completely underestimated how much work this would be. So come hang out while I attempt my first ever miniature fantasy house diorama in the form of a witch's cottage lamp. It would be an understatement to say I had no idea what I was doing.

Okay I have lots of feedback. First of all, I would not have noticed that you were wearing the same outfits until you pointed them out, and also you're within your own home so being comfy during crafting is totally allowed. Second of all, you may want to try denatured alcohol to remove the sticky foam? It's normally used as a glass cleaner, but I don't see it doing any damage to your cutting board, but maybe test a small spot. Third of all, the cross stitch project turned out absolutely amazing, congratulations. Fourth of all, I am also obsessed with tiny things, and I'm going to be sending you a care package here soon, and it's going to now contain some miniatures. Fifth of all, what size hat do you wear? Sixth of all, please tell Tom I said happy birthday. Seventh of all, that cinnamon roll cake looks so good. Eighth of all, THAT HOUSE TURNED OUT SO CUTE; WELL DONE. Finally, when you said you were digesting bread, there is a song that is like a really short tiny thing going around the Instagram right now that is like "all I really wanted was a little bread" and that moment when you said it was a mistake to record after lunch because you were digesting bread made me think of it so hard. This is the type of chaos I'm here for. I'm a neuro spicy dolls house miniature maker, currently in the process of renovating a dolls house but bouncing from room to room because I cant settle on just one thing.

Hoarding crafting supplies is always a good idea, you never know when some random thing you stashed years ago is going to be the exact thing you need

The amount of crafting videos I’ve watched this week where the crafter in question cuts out INDIVIDUAL SHINGLES/SCALES instead of doing it the smart way in the rows, I was so glad to see you doing it that way so I didn’t have to yell at the screen again 😅

I'm so glad that I'm not the only person that has cardboard shredding pets. Esme and Scoutie Boo (kittens) shred any cardboard they find. It can be thick or thin card, they don't care. It just needs to be shredded as soon as they see it or else they sulk.
It sooo cute! Only a problem when there is cardboard around that you really need! One time Alf started tearing up a box that had our oat milk in it and very suddenly walked away from it. Turns out he'd gotten through the packaging and gotten into the milk, clearly understood his mistake straight away 😅
@@ashbentley One of my kitties, Scoutie Boo, managed to shred the whole Ikea boxes that held the pieces of a full 5 x 5 Kallax shelving unit, before I came home from work to put the thing together. It was like a room full of cardboard snow and a lot of bits of the shelves that had a few teeth marks on them and many scratches.

Don't worry about wearing the same clothes. I can promise that people care more about you being comfortable. If anything, I sympathize as so many of my good clothes is covered in paint.
also also, as a suggestion for the air dry cracks. Probably a thing about the layers being too thick. In the future, if it happens again you can give it an extra day or two to dry and then fill in the cracks with either more clay or using the crack filler for walls. [I have some left over from wall repairs, and its been coming in clutch for tiny cracks in sculptures.]
Ooh very helpful tips, thank you! I remember in high school spend hours making a tiny aged armchair with peeling fabric for an attempt at a diorama and the whole thing completely fell apart as it dried 😥 Clearly I never took the time to learn how to use it properly, that would have been too thick too. I'll definitely try the wall filler technique in future
Also I did get paint on one of my favourite pairs of jeans in this video 😅

I have learned so much from Bentley House Minis! Ara is great at explaining everything in detail and not making it sound like a foreign language. Check out her video on the fireplace minister from Beetleguise for great tips on air dry clay.

It looks fantastic, well done. If you find the lamp gets too hot you might find battery powered candles or copper string lights a good alternative. The candles from k-mart change colour and have a remote. Glad I found your channel, looking forward t6o what you do next

It's totally cute! Okay so I have some suggestions for the future. 1. Try making future houses in the Sims 4, it's free and a square is 1foot in real life. 2. Look at house building plans on pinrest. Makes math easier.
I make a lot of miniatures, and these steps really helped me. I'm creative, not a math person. Lol
And 3. Your not giving yourself anuff credit. It's your first time, and it's amazing. And remember when things don't go right, it was just a creative choice. 😅
Making the house in Sims is such a great idea! That was the only part of the game I ever liked anyway 😂 I am also more a creative person than a math person 😅 (Part of the reason I went with witch's house was if the angles are weird, it's magic holding it up 😂) Thank you so much!
Don't worry about clothes. We never go out of bed and think : ow I'm going to doll myself up because I'm going to craft.

Dang, that is a fine, Fine house. It looks spectacular. And yes, miniatures will just take your heart away. I grew up with a Victorian style dollhouse my Dad made for me for my third Christmas. If I was ten I would have spent every last dime in that woman's store...

Adhesive foam is the devil. Good to know. Try using a putty knife on your cutting board (might work??).
Google will tell you the inch to centimeters conversion for you if you ask nicely ("inches to cm"). I live in Canada - yes, we converted to Metric when I was in Grade 1. As a result my grade 5 thru 8 did not teach fractions because we were now Metric and weren't we lucky little buggars... Fractions have been my continual enemy ever since grade 9. Especially, in present day, after trying to do the fraction computations (with chocolate & prayers... to anybody) then turning to the Fahrenheit ruler to find the notches don't go that small. Feh. You made me do math for "a smidge"...
Anyways, great video. Good for you for taking your own time with the project.

Thank you Cathy! Inches are SO CONFUSING and I don't get how anyone does small, precise measurements with them. Switching systems during school must have been tough. Also it was honestly very lucky for my bank balance that most of the things in that store were the wrong size.

I remember, one fine morning, my Grade 1 teacher telling us to pay attention and remember this. She had the front page of the morning paper (yes, there used to be 2 papers a day in old-y times). Printed in white letters on a full page black background... "Goodnight Fahrenheit".
Oh, those sweet summer children. The result is my height and weight are in inches and pounds, small measurements are in cm's and mm's, and I travel by miles. Plus, no discernable fraction skills. Made Functions and Relations a nightmare math class. 5/8" is a bother to me. Oooh - maybe we could start a petition to make dear old America switch to metric ("think of the children..."). Might distract them from the self-destructive instincts? Sigh.
Anywho. The house is spectacular. You should maybe give us all an update for how it's settling into your home. Must be spectacular at night...
@stevezytveld6585 I will say that even though we absolutely use the metric system in Aus including kilometres, I have no idea what my waist measurement is in cm, and we do default to feet and inches for heights here. Someone will be like ‘they’re 180cm tall” and I have no way of visualising that 😂 But I have no idea what a pound is and definitely no clue what stones are either!

I use lighter fluid (the kind you use in a cigarette ligher) to remore the sticky stuff. There is a product called gooe gone. That might work on clothers. Personally I don't like the smell of it.

Okay first of all, that cheap knife will NOT measure up to a Fiskars knife, because that is some QUALITY shit. Like I have a Fiskars scissor that's 30-something years old at this point and I haven't needed to sharpen it once. Okay, now with that out of the way...
