    Most comfortable watch that I have worn. Once on your wrist you do not know that you are wearing it. Have had mine for years and it is worn every day.

      So how is the s5600 carbon fibre? I also want to buy one do you have any issues with it?

  • @alanb76

    The stiffness of the strap is only noticeable when putting it on or taking it off, it is actually more comfortable on the wrist than the regular resin straps that stick to your skin more than the carbon fiber strap. This sits right on my wrist, no gap underneath. The stock photos don't do the display contrast justice (they make it look weaker than it does in person) and the case and strap is blacker and more glossy than the stock photos show as well. The Bluetooth models actually lose some features so these U non Bluetooth models are the best in many ways.

    The strap on the old one has also the text GW-S5600 and then it says Shock Resistant. On the new its Only Shock resistant.
    The old one has blueish backlit, while as the new is white. They do also differe slightly in functionality and how the module work.
    I think the newer one has more cities also. Very few subtle differences, but they are there.

    There are not a lot of options for people with a nickel allergy (and can’t wear stainless steel) so this titanium back is very cool.

    Excellent review. Just subscribed. After a couple of years of watch collecting and rejecting G-Shock because I thought cheap meant bad quality, I finally took a chance and got the not expensive ana-digi GA-700-4ADR, and absolutely love it. I think I've already been converted! There's a big difference in weight but all of them are light compared to some of my dive watches weighing in at 200 to 235gms including bracelet.

    There were some gshocks out there that didn't receive radio signal around the world, for example GW5600J, which worked with the radio towers only in Japan I belive. Greetings from Poland and thanks for really great reviews!

    good stuff. i own the older model, bought in japan during my visit few years ago. the only difference on the strap is the older one has the model number GW-S5600 before the "shock resistant" lettering. my one I have replace the module with the blackout negative display module. super slick look.

    I have pared it with a GW-5000U-1ER strap and it is perfect, weighing in even less at 44g! Obviously you lose some flare without the cool racing car style carbon strap though.

    I own the same squares as you do and I fully agree with your findings.
    -the stainless steel version;
    -the resin on combi bracelet which Is the stealth negative version.
    Both great watches.
    The square metal is seriously cool, built like a tank.
    The resin on the combi bracelet is insanely comfortable and wearable, great design from Casio.👍

    Just imagine how good it would be if casio released a carbon core guard version of the f-91w. They would sell out out instantly.

  • @giygas_9577
    @giygas_9577 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm trying to decide between this and the GW-5000U. This seems like the more durable option (not that the 5000 isn't a tank itself). What would you recommend?

    • @maverickwatchreviews
      @maverickwatchreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Both are great options but I like the lightness with all of the titanium of the S5600.

    • @giygas_9577
      @giygas_9577 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maverickwatchreviews I really dig the titanium as well. One thing I was reading though was that the 5000U feels heavy, which, I kinda like the idea of a watch with some heft to it. To be honest, as unnecessary as it is, I kind of want to get the GW-M5610U, the GW-S5600U, and the GW-5000U just to get the best of all three worlds (love that red line on the 5610U).

    So it's Basically a Carbon Fiber Tape?
    Does that mean that the band is thinner than normal 5610 model. And adding a piece of Carbon Fiber makes the band light and not easy to tear? "At least from the Carbon Fiber Side of it shouldn't break?
    Pretty Price for 4 grams less than a 5610.
    Amazon has them for $249 now. I ordered one, comes this Sunday. I'm going to see how I like it. I also ordered the Calssic older 5610 EL Light version so I can have Both Modules 3149 on the 5610 and 3495 on the S5600.

    • @serbrat
      @serbrat 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's the lighter version GW-5000.
      It has glossy translucent strap so you could see the carbon fiber and consequently the bezel should also be glossy and translucent.
      Casio makes different watches so... that you have to buy many different watches if you like this or that function, style, size and so on.
      In this case of yours you can change bezel and strap to what you like or buy another g-shock.

      They do for the titanium models. I really don't get why they won't even do it on their metal squares. They don't even do it on the fancy limited metal squares... only the titanium squares.
