Actually, it WAS made for kids. Burton wanted to make one last Batman movie, but the WB people said "NO." because they wanted it to be for kids, but Burton liked making it an adult movie. So, yeah.
Well I think it's pretty safe to say that they shot themselves in the foot by making it for kids. At least Burton making it a bit more adult had a broader audience in the seats. Whereas Shumacher narrowed it down to just children.
@@SuperCHARged425 Batman 1989 was the perfect mix of kiddery and adultery. But Burton was moving to way darker places with Batman Returns (penguin puking blood thats black as night), and there ain't no making action figures of that kind of movies
@@deg1studios I agree completely, movie is made for children and that is why I liked it as a kid. That is the kind of a movie where i would take my kid with to entertain him and have a nice daddy and son time.
+CurtisAlfeld I remember hearing rumors long before The Dark Knight Rises came out that The Riddler would appear in the Dark Knight sequel as a cyber terrorist. I think that concept would have worked well for Nolan's realistic tone but still would have stayed true to the Riddler's character as a mad genius obsessed with puzzles.
Riddler was the main villain and I disagree with this entitled douchebag TH-camr. Batman Forever was a decent movie and Val Kilmer gave a strong performance as Batman. It’s an entertaining movie, that’s flawed but designed for entertainment, marketing value and merchandising.
I actually liked Batman Forever but I didn't like how Two Face was he's not crazy like the Joker I also liked Jim Carrey as the Riddler so for me I rate it 7.3
I really like this movie, as evident by my TH-cam picture. This to me is much better than batman vs superman. I would rate it good time no alcohol required.
i re-watched this movie and i really enjoyed it. i think the thing that throws people off is the change in tone. if the franchise began like this, then i think people would be alright with it. its like we went from frank miller to denny o'neil. the tone change is awkward but for the most part, this movie is pretty good. my favorite third favorite out of all the batman movies
+Bobobonito You can have a problem about a show of Batman Villains without Batman, but you can't disagree that they do a good job portraying the characters. Penguin, Riddler, Zsasz, Alfred, and some others...are really good.
+Nicolas Igolnikov From what i've seen (never actually watched it) it looks like a noir type of show, with detectives and shit. Would you say it's something like that? I really dig that, but wasn't sure because of all the people saying it's below average.
When I have a kid and he wants to watch Batman, I’ll put this on because he isn’t old enough for the other Batman movies BUT I WILL NEVER SHOW HIM BATMAN AND ROBIN
You could pick out details in any fiction movie that doesn’t make sense, this guy shreds it for no reason... it’s a make believe story!!! Not a documentary
Too many cheesy lines. The riddler was over the top. This was a live cartoon movie for kids. The music sucked and made it feel like a joke instead of a serious movie.
I really wished Christopher Nolan did a Dark Knight movie with Guy Pearce as The Riddler. Pearce would've incorporated elements of his character from Memento, and that would be perfect.
I dunno about you, but Jim Carrey is the only reason I kept my eyes open and enjoyed the movie. I think he was working on Ace Ventura 2 when he did this movie, so, yeah, it's as if Ace Ventura snuck into the cast of Batman Forever and did what he could do. You could tell he had fun with the role.
I rewatched it last year. Didn’t hate it. I was Obsessed with it when I was a kid because I was obsessed with Batman, so maybe I still have some love for it because of nostalgia.
This was my favorite Batman movie as a kid, now I gravitate more towards both Tim Burton films and Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy. Wow, it would be nice to rewatch this movies, been a while!
Batmobile in 1989 and 1992- Kick ass dark batmobile gives off mysterious vibes and overall fucking cool Batmobile in Batman forever- Badass but goofy Batmobile in Batman and Robin- Cheap McDonalds toy
+Max Beta Don't tell me what to do. Also there's no reason to be rude. Chris O'Donnell looked nowhere near 35. he was 24 when it came out. He looked like he was 18. Dick Grayson/Robin was 16 or 17 in the Joel Schumacher films.
I feel like these movies should just be considered a different series of films from the Tim Burton ones. They didn't even try to keep the mood consistent. Just because the studio says "make it more kid friendly" doesn't mean "make it a ridiculous cartoon".
The costumes weren’t “shit” they were some of the best production crafted pieces at that time. The craftsmanship in that movie was/is incredible, the set pieces, cars and costumes were/are phenomenal...
batman forever is a masterpiece............ i mean compared to the stuff that comes after c,mon sing! sing louder! sing!!! and at that point is where in your mind you scream like dumbledore in the cave KILL ME!!!
We all loved this movie back in the day when it first came out. Really, no joke. It wasn't until Batman and Robin came out and magnified every single problem with Batman Forever that we started to look back and say "Wow, that was kind of bad".

If Batman Returns had not been so Burtony, perverse and macabre, I truly guarantee studio execs would not have over corrected the directory of the franchise to the degree of Batman Forever and ultimately Batman and Robin, which made this one look good.
See, when I first saw this movie I was about 13, I guess, and I thought 'not bad' - the opening joke with the drive, and everything seemed acceptable to me - at that time. The thing I noticed even then, and was annoyed with later, was bringing those weird colors everywhere (I mean - neons, everywhere). I only now realised, why was that - they tried to merge Burton's vision with 60ies Batman show - which explains the colors, music, bringing Robin with the phrase 'holey rusted metal', Batman looking into the windows while climbing up, the emergency suiting up scene - these were all references. But there was no way of putting it together with Burton succesfully. The film has several ideas, that appear later in Nolan's version - scene of the funeral and finding Batcave. And few elements were quite good - for the first time in history Bruce's adventures were more interesting than Batman's, the relation between Bruce and Dick was nicely shown. And the mind control scheme - ridiculously executed, but interesting as a plot device. Main theme was good, Seal's song also helps. Nicole Kidman - wonderful as always. So, despite bad plot, neons, holey plot (sic!) - it could have been worse. And it was - a movie later :) Love your review!
The movie was great for me when I was a kid (it’s a kids movie) but now I watch it and start to point out flaws myself all though I really liked the visuals in this movie. It has that 90’s feel to it 🙂
I got to say I enjoyed Batman Forever. I loved Jim Carrey's Riddler, he's one of the reasons I got into acting. Tommy Lee Jones didn't need to be there as Two Face but he brought great diversity to the role. To this day I feel that Val Kilmer is the most underrated batman. He played Bruce Wayne and the caped crusader as two different characters, which is how I would play him. And Joel Schumacher's colorful neon esque Gotham is fun, but maybe for this movie alone. It got old really fast in Batman & Robin. And I actually dug The Riddler's costumes. Granted I wouldn't wear that jumpsuit to save my life, but when I think of the riddler, Jim Carrey's flamboyant lunatic is the one I see. You can blame the fact that I never payed the shows much thought, or that my comic book knowledge is null at best and my love for these characters, whether marvel or dc, comes mainly from the movies. But I enjoyed Batman Forever for the hokey mess that it is. My Rating: Good time, no alcohol required. At least when compared to the dogshit that is Batman & Robin it's arguably a classic.

I like Batman Forever. Tommy Lee Jones did a pretty good two face and Carrey made me laugh my ass off as the riddler. it just works. chris o donnel, a Robin that I had a HUGE crush on, I also liked him as Da'artangnan in The 3 Musketeers
This movie was a good family movie. It succeeded at that. It was never supposed to be as Dark as the later movies. Let's not mention Batman and Robin, me and my brother walked out of that one...
Although I think Batman(1989) is the best Batman movie of all time, Batman Forever is still my favorite. I don't care what all the haters say, this movie has so much of a nostalgic value to me that no other Batman movie will ever be able to touch it, not even Nolan's.
Yeah, the issue with "Batman Returns" was that for some people it was too dark so they got Joel Schumacher to make the movie more "fun". Not going to lie, the movie is enjoyable, not horrible like "Batman and Robin"
It was kind of a rebute. Honestly the true rebute is the Nolan films. This is sort of a retone. They took what was and brightened it up. I think that thhe story of who killed Bruces parents is because they didn't care.

I pretty much agree with you, with one exception. I really liked Val Kilmer as Batman/Bruce Wayne, better than Keaton and of course better than Clooney. I think that Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey could each have been great as their respective villains, given, you know, a script and better direction.
Batman Forever was by far the Best Batman Movie made in the 90s up until Batman Begins that we seen recently. Overall This Batman Movie was watchable In that time of era and Jim Carey by Far was the Best Riddler I cant agree with you on that Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face was Average but it was the 90s once again it was at the time cool. Now Seal the Recording Music Artist with that song he made for this movie went Platinum so that just made this movie even better you bashing a Movie that was in the Mid 90s that was at the time Awesome Val Kilmer as Batman was better than any other Batman up until today currently that's my take upon it.
I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but if you're into fanedits, find the "Red Book" edition. The visuals are still garish, but the colors have been dimmed, some of the music replaced and key-scenes about Bruce's character development have been restored. It balances out and makes for a fairly decent Batman flick.
The only two Batfilms to grace my home collection are Batman and Batman Begins. The rest aren't worth my time. I'm sorry, Heath, great performance, wrong movie.
1. The Dark Knight 2. The Dark Knight Rises 3. Batman Begins 4. Batman 5. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 6. Batman Returns 7. Batman Forever 8. Batman and Robin
Originally Robin Williams was slated to play the Riddler and Billy Dee Williams was contracted to play Two Face. Williams was supposed to play the dark methodical Riddler. However when he read the script he hated the change in direction. Apparently he blanket refused to play it slapstick. Further, the story of the Riddler in this movie, is the Mad Hatter origin story. From an episode of BTA and possibly the comics.
Um, sir, I don't think Tim Burton handed the project to Joel Shumaker just like that. I read that he was kicked off the project as director and put on as a producer. Many parents complained that Batman Returns was too dark and violent. And thus, this is why Michael Keaton didn't stay on the project.
Here's how the ratings for these movies should go, Jeremy: Batman: buy it on Blu-Ray Batman Returns: Might be a good time if you're drunk/Dogshit. (Seriously, never liked that movie, never will. Didn't liked it even when I was a kid. The only difference between then & now, is the list of reasons grew) Batman Forever: Good time, no alcohol required, but maybe alcohol can help you enjoy the experience a bit. Batman & Robin: Dogshit. You got 2/4 of these right. Not bad.
You gave Returns dogshit but Forever no alcohol required? Dude, I wouldn't trust you with reviews. It's not the fact that you didn't like Returns, it's the fact that you think Forever could even compare to Returns.
Whatever. I haven't seen Batman Returns in years, but I have seen the Superhero Rewind review for it & the Film Brain/Bennet the Sage review & all I remember it being from my initial viewing is a freakshow, with Penguin being a fucking disgusting mutant fuck. I have though seen Batman Forever several times & in my opinion, it can go toe to toe with those of the 1st Spider-Man film. Really, all that film needs, is the few minute scene that connects Bruce Wayne & Robin together & I bet it'd be a better film in most people's eyes.
I agree Batman and Robin is badly written to the point where it's comical but you have to admit the cinematography and art direction were actually descent
Just like Jeremy Jans, I prefer "methodical" over the "eccentric" "crazy animated version." which is why this is the first and ONLY time I will ever click on one of his reviews.
2:14 *deep breath* ... *deeper breath* ...*one more epic deep breath* ... ... THAAAAAAAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOUUU!!!!!! You LITERALLY said THE EXACT WORDS I did. "They were both the Joker!"
Batman: Buy on Blu-Ray Batman Returns: Good Time: no alcohol required Batman Forever: Won't remember in T-Minus 1 day Batman and Robin: Good time if your drunk (that movie is a so bad it's good movie for me so if I was totally wasted I'd probably laugh my ass off) Batman Begins: Awesometacular The Dark Knight: The definition of Awesometacular The Dark Knight Rises: Buy it on Blu-ray
Best part of the movie was the hit single “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal. But it was dropped during the last part of the credits. That song was huge! Best Pop song in the franchise.
One awesome thing in this movie - the scene with the flying bat in the sequence when Riddler reads Bruce Wayne's thoughts. But in the movie it was like 10 seconds? So 10 seconds of awesomeness in 2 hour film. Oh, and "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me" song by U2 with the bat scene in the video. The music video is much better than the film.
I remember being pissed when I heard different music...without Danny Elman music, it automatically felt like a cheap knock off of the first two....HATED it
A lot of the deleted scenes can be found on TH-cam. They don’t radically alter the film but they do make Two-Face more menacing and add psychological depth to Bruce Wayne. I don’t think it requires a complete change but adding those scenes and maybe some minor color and sfx alterations would keep the fun, 90s feel while adding some edge.
I can buy Val Kilmer as Bruce and Batman. The suit was great! (despite the... nipples😧) And the voice isn't too bad I would say *It's a good time, no alcohol (or Pibb Xtra) required*
Batman movie ranking Batman 60s film 6/10 Batman 8/10 Batman Returns 6/10 Batman Forever 3/10 Batman and Robin 1/10 Batman Begins 10/10 Dark Knight 10/10 Dark Knight Rises 10/10
Batman - 6/10 Batman Returns - 5/10 Batman Forever - 4/10 Batman& Robin 1/10 Batman Begins - 10/10 The Dark Knight - 10/10 The Dark Knight Rises -10/10
Batman forever was ok. Its much better than all the shitty movies like toy story, Power Rangers & those goofy Disney movies. Plus it's a childrens movie so what do you expect. My favorites will always be the first Batman with jack as the joker & dark knight rises because that was a more realistic version of Bane. Because in batman & robin he was an insane idiot. & I feel in a realistic adult movie world & not a childrens movie world Jim Carrey as Riddler & Arnold as Freeze could have been just as great as Bane/dark knight rises & both jokers if done right back in the day, but being young as I was back then I felt batman forever was a good fun ride.
Serious productions Toy story & power rangers were pieces of shit. & yeah, I said it again. But don't let me ever hear your ass say that those shit fests were classics again.
They are considered culture classics. Yes. I said it. Again. If it wasn't for toy story there wouldn't be shrek or any other pixar hits today. Power rangers movie was the first time you saw transformer like robots on the big screen. Using that cgi was a milestone in movie production. Respect your history. I was a kid in 1995. It was a great year for film. Mortal kombat also came out in 1995. Are you mad?
Serious productions I was a kid in the 90's too, and I say they all sucked! I had more fun watching 80's re runs on T.V., now spider-man, X-men, & beast wars were great 90's cartoons but that's where it ends. Respect your fucking history, & the only person I see that's mad is you because the truth hurts.
Well I really enjoyed this movie cuz It brings me a lot of memories from my childhood I born in 92 and I was 3 years old and I remember thoose big Batman forever sings in the streets and all the merchandise And also this was the first Batman movie Ive ever watch after that my parents bought me Batman Returns on VHS But this movie can be rally silly and over the top but I still love it the same goes to Batman & Robin BUT this is SUPERIOR to that abomination
I remembered getting this movie with my mom on our way somewhere and we were going through The Howard CTA Red Purple and Yellow Line Station in my homecity Chicago before they renovated it. In the original station had a store stand where they selled cigarettes and candy and pop but sometimes they had movies. One of the times we went through and stopped there I noticed this movie and being I was already a Jim Carrey fan thanks to The Mask and Ace Ventura Pet Detective so naturally we wanted it lol. Of course my mom bought it for me and when we got back home and after her shows ended she let me watch it. I adored it for me this was almost as funny as The Mask. I know that some people don't like it but it's a guilty pleasure of mine and it introduced me to Batman and DC Comics which I'm still a fan of their superheroes to this day. I might have been a little bit too young being this was PG 13 and I was still in elementary school but for my mom as long as I don't get violent because of the movie she's fine with it. That's why I was able to see Titanic when I was 10 years old. By that time I already seen a few PG 13 movies but mainly disaster movies like Dante's Peak Volcano which I personally consider the worst disaster movie of all time because there's no volcanoes in or around Los Angeles in fact the closest volcano that I'm aware of is Mammoth Mountain and Long Valley Caldera east of Los Angeles. I also saw Twister which is my all time favorite disaster movie because not only how realistic the tornadoes looked and they talked about the Fajita Scale but I have a past experience with a tornado. When I was around 4 or 5 years old while I was living in Cincinnati at the time me and I was in a tornado. We were running towards our home but the tornado was pulling me out of my mom's hands and she had to regrip her hold on me. Remember that scene in Twister when they were trying to get in that outhouse and she was being pulled back by the F5 tornado and Bill had to pull her back that what happened to me when I was in my tornado which was I guess a F0 or F1 so I'm kinda biased towards Twister because of my experience with a tornado.
This is easily the best live action Batman movie ever made. Burton and Nolan only care about their own person filming style to care about Batman. Schumacher was actually a fan of Batman and worked along side Bob Kane. Also, the campiness of his movies are more of Warner Brother's fault than his own, since they were trying to avoid the creation of another Batman Returns.
I disagree. I thought that the Schumacher films were the worst between him, Burton and Nolan. The villains in this film were so over the top it was rediculous. Why was seeing a bat in Wayne's head mean they know beyond a shadow of a doubt he was Batman? What if Wayne just had some bad dream with a bat in it, or he was upset the there was a bat caught in his house and he had to get animal control to get rid of it? After thinking that Batman and Robin were both dead how did Two-Face and Riddler know the they were going to be attacked, or the route by which they were going to be attacked?
rangers94ism I can see why people hate and like the other Batman movies... but I can't fathom why people like Batman Returns. I like Batman Forever because it has the best representation of Bruce Wayne being psychologically tortured. He thinks he's the reason his parents are dead. Its not like Nolan's where "oh if I didn't make them leave the theater, or if I fought back." Its was pretty powerful... even if the best version was cut. It also shows Batman as seeing his enemies as victims. The first line he says the the main villain is "you need help, Harvey" and he almost never calls him Two-Face. Plus, Riddler and Two-Face never thought they outright killed Batman. The only time they did, they quickly found out Batman survived and that was when Two-Face buried him alive. And Riddler never even wanted to kill Batman "if you kill him, he won't learn nothing."
Kyle Keaton No, Batman Returns, Batman and Robin, TDK, and TDK Rises were the worst Batman movies. Get your facts straight. Batman Forever is the closest true to Batman film.
This movie still has a soft spot for me. I mean I was the exact right age when this came out and the Riddler is my favorite super villain and Jim Carry was my favorite actor at the time. I went back about a year ago and rewatched it and I still like it and it's fun for what it is but yeah you do kind of need to be in the mood for it.
It would have been interesting to see Tim Burton’s vision for Batman Forever. Tim Burton had a more serious script and Billy Dee Willams was still supposed to be Two-Face and Michael Keaton was still Batman, but what made this vision not happen was who Tim cast as Robin. The person that was originally supposed to be Robin was actually Marlon Wayans. Warner Bros. At the time didn’t like the idea of a Black Robin, so they fired Marlon and told Tim to recast. Tim, Micheal (Michael said it was because it was because Batman Returns was more violent; but he did not quit until Tim quit so he really quit because Tim wouldn’t his his vision on screen), and Billy quit the film because of that decision and that’s when Joel Schumacher, Tommy Lee Jones, Val Kilmer, and Chris O’Donnell we’re hired. Would have been interesting to see Tim Burton’s vision for Batman Forever and to see how different Marlon Wayans career would have turned out if he would have been able to play Robin.
I’m calling for a redo of this review all these years later. The Riddler is the main villain and I think the older, wiser Jahns needs to rewatch this one.
Sorry, but whenever it comes to batman I'm an expert and whenever somebody gets something wrong I have to correct them, The Riddler is described as a smooth talking but quirky character, so technically the actors in the past ( Frank gorshin, Jim carry) got the interpretation right.
I loved Batman Forever when I was a kid. I remember when I first saw it it was my favorite Batman movie. Of course when you're little you don't notice things like bat nipples. As I got older I began to see how cheesy and over the top it was. I don't hate it, but I don't like it all that much either. I did like the inclusion of Robin though. It is a little ridiculous for Bruce to take him in when he's clearly in his 20's or older. At the end of the day I like the movie more for nostalgia than anything else.
I don’t see how you think Two-Face is the main villain. Sure he starts out as the main antagonist but once Riddler arrives he definitely becomes the secondary villain. Two-Face’s only goal is to kill Batman but has failed despite numerous encounters. Meanwhile Riddler puts the box in every home stealing Gothams intelligence, finds out Bruce Wayne is Batman which results in them attacking Wayne major, then it ends on Riddler’s question mark ridden island where he’s found sitting on a throne with Two Face standing next to it. By this point Two Face is kind of a crony as the villains’ entire plot was constructed and implemented by The Riddler. I mean The Riddler not only discovered Batman’s secret identity but as Edward Nygma fooled Gotham into putting his product in every home thus creating a business empire. He was also not only the villain to Batman but to Bruce Wayne as well. Edward stalked Bruce, left him riddles and built his empire out of spite for Bruce Wayne while “The Riddler” terrorized Gotham with hate for Batman. Lastly (I know I’ve completely over analyzed this), this movie starts with Edward working at Wayne Enterprises, his work being rejected, his clear obsession with Bruce, creating his name/persona, finding his costume, meeting Two Face and then becomes Gotham’s biggest threat. We’re shown all of this because this movie is just as much a Riddler origin story as it is a Batman story. Two Faces entire backstory is told with a few lines in a news story on tv. As I said I’ve definitely over analyzed this but I had to make my case for why I disagree.

I remember when I saw this movie as a kid... I felt like I was watching the inside of a dumpster ... it was that bad.
The Riddler would have worked really well in the Nolan movies.
The Gothic riddler of the batman cartoon of the 2004 would worked in those films in my opinion
+CurtisAlfeld None of the villains except Joker (Kinda) do.
Leonardo di caprio was approached to be the riddler in the last film but he declined the role.
I was hoping for a DK4 with David Tennant as the Riddler, for personal reasons
+CurtisAlfeld I remember hearing rumors long before The Dark Knight Rises came out that The Riddler would appear in the Dark Knight sequel as a cyber terrorist. I think that concept would have worked well for Nolan's realistic tone but still would have stayed true to the Riddler's character as a mad genius obsessed with puzzles.
I disagree. The Riddler was more the main villain than Two Face.
Yay I agreed because we saw a origin story for him
I agree because he seemed to have beef with Wayne
TheJimger agree
Ya. It may confusing because of the recasting of 2face to Tommy Lee Jones so there wasn’t much connection to Returns 2face and Forevor 2 face
Riddler was the main villain and I disagree with this entitled douchebag TH-camr. Batman Forever was a decent movie and Val Kilmer gave a strong performance as Batman. It’s an entertaining movie, that’s flawed but designed for entertainment, marketing value and merchandising.
I actually liked Batman Forever but I didn't like how Two Face was he's not crazy like the Joker I also liked Jim Carrey as the Riddler so for me I rate it 7.3
This was actually the first Batman movie I saw as a kid.

From what i've seen (never actually watched it) it looks like a noir type of show, with detectives and shit. Would you say it's something like that? I really dig that, but wasn't sure because of all the people saying it's below average.
yes

Kilmer was underrated as Batman.
MrExplodinGuy He was a better Bruce Wayne
Kilmer was trash!
@@swissbeats2k Kilmer was fine.
Nikunj Dixit he was so boring
Val Kilmer was great and if the script had been better, he'd be the Bat we all remembered.
There is one really awesome part in this movie though: The Riddler transforming the bat signal into a giant question mark. That was pretty damn cool.
I love this movie. Don't care what people say except the bat nipples that's just not right
When I have a kid and he wants to watch Batman, I’ll put this on because he isn’t old enough for the other Batman movies BUT I WILL NEVER SHOW HIM BATMAN AND ROBIN
Bat nipples are cool
angry music guy Hear that!
@@alexandersmith7061 no just show the kid Batman TAS
You could pick out details in any fiction movie that doesn’t make sense, this guy shreds it for no reason... it’s a make believe story!!! Not a documentary
This film is actually a pretty fun film to watch every once in quite a while despite its many flaws
I think its better then The Dark Knight trilogy
Too many cheesy lines. The riddler was over the top. This was a live cartoon movie for kids. The music sucked and made it feel like a joke instead of a serious movie.
@@EmergencyTop5 I wasn’t saying it was amazing. Just fun.
I really wished Christopher Nolan did a Dark Knight movie with Guy Pearce as The Riddler. Pearce would've incorporated elements of his character from Memento, and that would be perfect.
Keith Bittinger David Tennant FTW!!!!!
dude guy pearce would have been a kick ass fucking riddler
Guy Pearce's character from iron man 3 has pretty much the exact same motivations as the riddler
The movie's definitely better than its reputation suggests. Val Kilmer did well.
Meh... this movie was okay... the Soundtrack is amazing af and I like some of the scenes of this movie. my opinion.
The soundtrack was way over used bro lmao same song in the whole movie every scene.
I actually really liked this film!
This was my favorite Batman movie as a kid, now I gravitate more towards both Tim Burton films and Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy.
Wow, it would be nice to rewatch this movies, been a while!
Batmobile in 1989 and 1992- Kick ass dark batmobile gives off mysterious vibes and overall fucking cool
Batmobile in Batman forever- Badass but goofy
Batmobile in Batman and Robin- Cheap McDonalds toy
Actually Chris O'Donnell was 24 in Batman Forever Came Out. Not 35.
stfu
+Max Beta Don't tell me what to do. Also there's no reason to be rude. Chris O'Donnell looked nowhere near 35. he was 24 when it came out. He looked like he was 18. Dick Grayson/Robin was 16 or 17 in the Joel Schumacher films.
+Max Beta I'm calm. And don't call me a dickhead. I'm being honest. About Chris O'Donnell.
I'm being honest about it being a fact that Chris O'Donnell was 24 & looked 18.
I know that there are an a unlimited amount of jackasses on the internet.
"Caffine'll KILL YA!" Gotta say Jim Carrey was my favorite part of this movie. That and "Kiss From a Rose" playing at the end of the credits.
I love Batman Forever! This is the Batman film of my childhood! Then you have the Animated series which is classic!
batman forever is a masterpiece............ i mean compared to the stuff that comes after

We all loved this movie back in the day when it first came out. Really, no joke.
It wasn't until Batman and Robin came out and magnified every single problem with Batman Forever that we started to look back and say "Wow, that was kind of bad".

Not bad. I think B&R gets way too much hate and is enjoyable to laugh at.
This was one of the most important movies of my childhood! And I'll love it forever!!!
this is my favorite one as a kid I loved it
If Batman Returns had not been so Burtony, perverse and macabre, I truly guarantee studio execs would not have over corrected the directory of the franchise to the degree of Batman Forever and ultimately Batman and Robin, which made this one look good.
I thoroughly enjoyed Batman Forever as a kid, but when I look back now as an adult, I can see where everyone's coming from.
And it was - a movie later :)
Love your review!
The movie was great for me when I was a kid (it’s a kids movie) but now I watch it and start to point out flaws myself all though I really liked the visuals in this movie. It has that 90’s feel to it 🙂
lol AVGN & Jeremy said the same thing, Jim carrey being Jim carrey lol

This movie was a good family movie. It succeeded at that. It was never supposed to be as Dark as the later movies. Let's not mention Batman and Robin, me and my brother walked out of that one...
Hi There
I wish I did that as well, because the whole movie was so terrible. The Adam West TV Show is far better than B&R.

Although I think Batman(1989) is the best Batman movie of all time, Batman Forever is still my favorite. I don't care what all the haters say, this movie has so much of a nostalgic value to me that no other Batman movie will ever be able to touch it, not even Nolan's.
This was the middle ground between the amazing Burton films and the nail in the coffin of Batman 'Batman and Robin.'
I honestly confused is this a reboot to the tim burton version?
Yeah, the issue with "Batman Returns" was that for some people it was too dark so they got Joel Schumacher to make the movie more "fun". Not going to lie, the movie is enjoyable, not horrible like "Batman and Robin"
ShinbrigTV
so it is a reboot?
ThatRandomComicFan10 Arguably...yes.
It was kind of a rebute. Honestly the true rebute is the Nolan films. This is sort of a retone. They took what was and brightened it up. I think that thhe story of who killed Bruces parents is because they didn't care.

The batbutt scene was the worst thing in this movie
val kilmer was a good batman, but not the best
I pretty much agree with you, with one exception. I really liked Val Kilmer as Batman/Bruce Wayne, better than Keaton and of course better than Clooney. I think that Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey could each have been great as their respective villains, given, you know, a script and better direction.
I'm gonna say this......I Freaking LOVED Jim Carry as The Riddler!
XD LOOOL ok ..

Here's how the ratings for these movies should go, Jeremy:
Batman: buy it on Blu-Ray
Batman Returns: Might be a good time if you're drunk/Dogshit. (Seriously, never liked that movie, never will. Didn't liked it even when I was a kid. The only difference between then & now, is the list of reasons grew)
Batman Forever: Good time, no alcohol required, but maybe alcohol can help you enjoy the experience a bit.
Scsigs
It's just way too campy and the bad acting, in my opinion.
Lmao you said batman forever is better than batman returns and you said batman forever can be compared to Spider-Man. You're a fucking idiot.
Batman forever 9/10

The Dark Knight Rises: Buy it on Blu-ray

Best part of the movie was the hit single “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal. But it was dropped during the last part of the credits. That song was huge! Best Pop song in the franchise.
I actually like Batman Forever.
Me too. It’s like a the silver age Batman was brought to the 90’s. And I loved Kilmer as Batman
toy story was way better than this
One awesome thing in this movie - the scene with the flying bat in the sequence when Riddler reads Bruce Wayne's thoughts. But in the movie it was like 10 seconds? So 10 seconds of awesomeness in 2 hour film.
Oh, and "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me" song by U2 with the bat scene in the video. The music video is much better than the film.
I like batman forever
Michael Keaton was wise to dip when Tim Burton left the directors chair
I remember being pissed when I heard different music...without Danny Elman music, it automatically felt like a cheap knock off of the first two....HATED it
I appreciate this music so much more after listening to Hans Zimmer’s
It's so bad it's good.
If they ever made a "Schumacher Cut" in the movie, it would've been edgier, gritter and darker
(despite the... nipples😧) And the voice isn't too bad
I would say *It's a good time, no alcohol (or Pibb Xtra) required*
When Batman was putting on his suit he wasn't trying to show his nipples he was showing off the bat symbol on his chest
10 years after Jeremy made this review, he'll finally get the serious, methodical Riddler adaptation he wanted in Matt Reeves' The Batman
I only liked the music at the end with them running toward the camera but that's because it felt like a celebration that the film was finally over.

Bacan Moreno you go dude?
Umm toy story was a classic. And mighty morphin power rangers the movie was and still is classic. Don't ever say that shit again.

But this movie can be rally silly and over the top but I still love it the same goes to Batman & Robin BUT this is SUPERIOR to that abomination
batman tas is better than all the old movies lol
Holy shit no female actor has recurred in any Batman movie haha NO no I said actor not character
your really stupid its actress
Is it strange that I was more entertained by the sheer awfulness of Batman and Robin than the sheer mediocrity of Batman Forever?
After thinking that Batman and Robin were both dead how did Two-Face and Riddler know the they were going to be attacked, or the route by which they were going to be attacked?
rangers94ism
I can see why people hate and like the other Batman movies... but I can't fathom why people like Batman Returns.
Batman and Robin and Batman Forever were easily the worst movies ever made. period.
Kyle Keaton
No, Batman Returns, Batman and Robin, TDK, and TDK Rises were the worst Batman movies.
Get your facts straight. Batman Forever is the closest true to Batman film.
Oh... You poor, unfortunate soul.
Jeremy i love your reviews you are spot on with your assessments of the villians in this ...
