  • This is not my recipe but an adapted recipe of a version I found online.
1 Jar of Ragu Old World Style Spaghetti Sauce
    1/2 Box Rotini Pasta
1/2 Bag Great Value Meatballs (Fully Cooked Frozen)
1 Jar of Water (Enough to cover pasta)
    1 tsp Black Pepper
    1 tsp Salt
Put ingredients in in this order...Meatballs, Pasta, Sauce, Water, Pepper and Salt, Push Manual Button and set timer to 8 mins. Once the 8 minutes is up do a quick release (use a wooden spoon to slowly release pressure to keep sauce from spewing out).
This recipe turned out perfect in my Instant Pot! My family loved it!
    Happy Cooking Everyone!

Thank you for doing this with a smaller amount. Most pressure cooker type recipes are huge. This was exactly what I needed. Off to try it now! :)

This is so nice for reducing the space needed on the counter, and the amount of bowls I need to clean!

I cook 4 oz of past and 4 or 5, 1 oz meatballs this way.
Put in a trivate to keep all out of water. Add 1 cup of water first
Then put in meatballs, Then pasta, then cover with Ragu sauce .
cook for time it says to cook Past on the box.
Usually 8 to 11 minutes depending what pasta
YUM Yum perfect every time and not soupy at all.

Am doing your recipe now, would have loved to know how you do the quick release with the wooden spoon. I have the 8 qt instant pot and so far am loving it.

Just use the spoon to pull back the lever, that way you can stand back and not get steam on you.

I cut pasta cooking time to less than 4 minutes. The liquid measures vs the pasta measure can be important.

@@parishm ,,, but when it takes the time to heat up and boil, then the 10 min for the noodles to cook. Don't forget the heat up time for the stove. Also ONLY one pot to clean in the end. Gr8 recipe HH.

Does your pot get burned in bottom? I had pasta and even some water and no matter what I do it gets a burn at bottom of my pot. Just curious if that happens to everyone. If I had more water it's just to watery takes pasta taste away.

I have never had that problem. Mine doesn't get burned.

I use a trivet to keep everything out of the water. I add one cup of water first , put meat balls on bottom, pasta next and sauce on top.
Cook for time that it says on box, Release steam as soon as it is done.
The water is only to make STEAM and not to make the sauce soupy.

Hi. The instructions for the Instant Pot advises against cooking pasta, spaghetti, or macaroni because it can clog the pressure release valve. Have you had any issues with this?

No I haven't had any issues with that I just make sure I clean it very well after cooking anything.

8 minutes?! Their pasta recipes call for 4 with a NR. I think it’d be best to cook the meatballs ahead. I haven’t had good luck with all at once pasta and meatballs. Interesting that the pasta wasn’t mushy. I’d stick to less time and add more if necessary. There seems to be a lot of different ideas on this recipe... So, HOW DID IT TASTE?!

It was really good. I have noticed I have to cook things longer than most recipes call for....like potatoes. In order for them to be done I have to cook them 40 mins while most say 20. I have also heard it can depend on altitude.
