    Well these are officially my favorite jeans ever!
    Adding feather trim to anything, instantly makes it cooler and I'm obsessed.
    The original Prada version is thousands of the dollars... thousands and thousands! This DIY will run you about $15- $40 per boa!
    I have a major tip on how to hand sew it, so be sure to watch and save yourself tons of time!
    I am making the Prada White Button up, The Black Jeans and also adding some fun pink feathers to my faded camp jacket!

    If you would stitch the feathers to a piece of fabric that would blend in with your clothing piece then attach that piece of fabric with buttons you could remove the feather fabric piece to clean the garment or wear without the feathers.

    I’ve been eyeing a pair of faux leather pants, and feathers would look insane! So feeling this.

    • @allamericanswede8661
      @allamericanswede8661 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Remember that if you sew through "leather" it will leave marks from the needle in the fabric, so if you decide to remove the feathers later it will show. But since its pants and will be at the bottom if your leg i doubt that anyone will notice.

    • @Oonagh72
      @Oonagh72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      allAmerican Swede Thanks for the thought. I had considered that. I was thinking of using a really sharp but really fine needle and some of my beading thread which is super thin.

    I love this! I actually used velcro. I first sewed the feathers to the velcro, and the other side of the velcro to the jeans/ jacket. I can remove to washing and switch out embellishments (denim fringe, rhinestones, etc...) Thanks for this :-)

    Very cute! Orly, what about washing? When I use these boas I like to tack the boa onto seam binding, then sew snaps or some fasteners onto the garment and the seam binding. Then I snap it onto the garment. It comes off easy for laundering. Great DIY.

    When sewing stuff like that, it's a good idea to use dental floss. It's way less likely to knot or snap.

      @@OrlyShaniShow I used to make doll furniture for my daughter when she was little and I used dental floss on the cushions because the cotton kept tangling and snapping. I wanted something stronger so I used some dental floss. It's good to use for stuff like that, if you don't need a lot of thread otherwise it becomes too expensive.

    Laughed so hard when the dress form scared you! I swear that sort of thing happens to me all the time. We used to have coat rack with hats and coats on it and I had to move it out of the living room because I kept thinking it was a person. And it scared me all the time. Especially if there was a hat perched on top.
