They have to deal with a ton of shitty people all day, thats why. They have to be careful when they pat people down because there has been plenty of TSO officers who have been accused of assault simply because a passeger dont like too be touched. Im sure the job is stressful.

When they talked about being touched, I have only had one bad experience. A TSA agent instead of telling me to spread my legs apart more she decide to just slap the inner part of my leg and I didn’t know what she was doing and then proceeded to yell at me telling me to spread me legs more. Ma’am, I’m just as annoyed as you are but you don’t need to be slapping my leg. Just tell me first 😒

He does not have to walk through the metal detector or stand inside the AIT scanner, however, he will have to get a full body pat-down, whether it’s standing up, leaning against a table, or in a wheelchair. Everyone must be screened in some way.

I'm sorry that scares you. I know it's not likely to help much because fear is a tough thing, but TSA dogs actually keep you safer and are extensively trained to have good manners; to my knowledge, TSA dogs are unlikely to have been exposed to any kind of attack training at all, only scent detection (usually they alert by sitting down by the item or person and pointing to it with their nose). They just want to be sure nobody has explosives or dangerous drugs; they aren't there to "get" anyone, just to use their sense of smell. :-)
