Picking using the wrist is such a tough switch to make when you've already developed bad habits. But It's well worth it in the end. Spot on advice Carl.
1:50 A more succinct explanation would be the following: when you are tremolo picking, are the muscles in the upper part of the forearm tight? If so, relax them, but maintain the same motion with your hand: this will shift the work from your _pronator quadratus_ to your wrist. Practice this; get a feel for which muscles are taught. That will help you determine what part of your arm you’re utilizing.
I always get sucked with tremelo picking and it has become my next to impossible task. How do i overcome it. I really wanna learn tremelo picking. I am being playing for years but i still cannot master this technique.
@@sleepnaught without guitar: take your pick and shake your hand using forearm rotation. everyone can do that even when u never played guitar. its the natural way to make fast movements in the arm. u cant do that with the wrist alone! then just apply it on a string
You gotta do some more avenged sevenfold reactions because they have a really good amount of songs that would be great to learn such as Scream, Afterlife, Save Me, So Far Away, M.I.A and many more
it differs for everyone. I personally prefer ~0,75, but I've heard people use 2mm and bigger. try different picks and see what you like. in case you are still wondering a year later also I found that sharper picks are better for me, like dunlop sharp
It's incredibly annoying, I can do it without thinking if I flip the guitar over and play it left handed, but right handed I just can't alternate pick fast enough to tremolo.
It's actually one of the techniques I find most difficult, for me I think it's the speed. I just have a hard time doing it very fast. Currently can only do about 160bpm
It’s a lot harder to do something such as this for people who aren’t used to it and for people that have improper picking technique to begin with. That’s like saying that sweep-picking isn’t a technique because it’s just moving your left hand really fast 😉

So true man. It took me about 4 months to get back to where I was before I started making the switch, but it is well worth it.
I made the switch when I was learning how to play Hail To The King. Took me around 4 months too !
Can I really trust my wrist if I practice every day to get the tremolo with just the wrist?

What is the best pick for tremolo picking? What is the size of mm?

I didn’t realize tremolo picking was hard for some people tbh maybe I got it so fast because I started alternate picking extremely early
Actually i thought tremolo picking is the easiest thing on guitar because all u do is keep picking fast without worrying about anything.
Dude where is this g u y

Good clearety 👍 good video and romantic giterist.
How is this even considered a technique? It seems to be just faster alternate picking?
