Can confirm from firsthand experience: no quicker way of learning disarm principles than to be personally locked up, twisted, turned, led around, and gently escorted into the ground by Kuya Doug 😆. Awesome summary!
Amazing and excellent. A particularly liked the lock-flow aspect of bare handed section, showns as if a byproduct. May be separating them into weaponless, one side qwith weapon and both sides with weapons could be more digestable for a learner of this really good martial art. Paul,69
@@SharpTalkPodcast I guess he said it with ignorant sarcasm. He doesn't understand the term demo or tutorial and expects everything to be the "real thing". I guess he thinks the same way about guys shooting stationary (cooperative)objects at firing ranges and doesn't understand that the moves you and kuya Doug showed teaches the discipline, instinct and muscle memory for when you need it in real situations.
This is a nice introduction. It's indeed a great principle to take an opportunistic approach and take the initiative rather than wait for an attack and hope that it's not a feint and you're predictions and timing are right... Plus, you're much better off when you keep your opponent busy...
one of the moves Connor does most of the time, is using his forward hand and "grab" the opponents hand. imo, he will get the lead and advantage ovee the opponent

They never said that you should use it with someone fighting with you with a gun or flamethrower either. It's not the only self defense video to watch and know by heart. Different strokes for different folks.
@@grayrecluse7496 They never said that you will never get cut in a real fight. But those skills will get you a higher chance of coming out alive than just being out there and doesn't know what to do. Common sense will tell you not to do those step by step just to look good like they did but apply with what the situation offers you to do. Real fights are never supposed to look good but having some edge in technique could get you out less ugly. With the kind of mindset you have you're lucky you only got scars.

Awesome! Thank you for your support💪🏽⚔️🔥
Was on your other video. Came to check this out. Love it.
That is some amazing training. Thank you for sharing 🫡👍
Makes sense its about the feeling
Such an amazing set of lessons in 11 minutes!
Thank you!!⚔️
Absolutely beautiful. Maybe the best video i've seen from Doug's explanational videos. Love It.
Flow with glue an amazing art it saved my life. All arts should train with weapons.
Master Doug Marcaida is the best.

Wonderful! Thank you for watching and sharing your experience! 🔥
Great with a cooperative opponent and done in slow-mo.
This is a video worth watching 2 or 3 times

slow means smooth and smooth means fast (Jeff Bezos)
When you get it right, it's just the matter of speeding it up.
Love it!

"it will keeel" 😂
my question is how to best deal with someone brutally using knife to attack us
Run

Run FAST
Yes if you have the chance you run away. But when SHTF I'd be so glad to have kuya Doug's skills to come in handy.

Dis arm, dat arm… then everything else?
Everyone isn't fighting with a stick though
I encourage you to rewatch this episode
Sounds like there is more to learn ⚔️
Stick, blade, empty hand, all related. Stick teaches, and sharpens the blade and empty hand, Doug definitely mentioned all three in the video
