Best battery tenders out there 🙌
I live in Llangynidr lol 99% sure you were driving my way from ebbw vale
This production reminds me of old top gear. Well done
reminds me of a well crafted advertisement. This guy is taking rose tinted shades to a whole new level.
it does sound as if the presenter was in old top gear too
don't know if you are trolling or you live under the rock?
This!
Absolutely. I'm loving it!
A fitting send off. So many TH-cam Channels make a series about a project car then never mention it when it's finished. Well done Drivetribe.
Drive tribe have already started that trend, check out the older videos with the different engine for the Mazda etc, loads of unfinished projects associated with this channel, bit disappointing really
Read the collecting cars description, the car is a well polished dog.
Considering I had no idea this was in their possession to begin with, let lone any other content on it prior to this video, it sure feels like a 1 off to me.
@@willkauffman5079 sounds about the same as most cars of its age in fairness. I note a lack of any dings or dents mentioned which is frankly pretty good going on a car that as standard isn't that desirable or valuable.
@@willkauffman5079you're not wrong, I had a look around it at the NEC and it was a little rough and ready to say the least. I don't think anything was removed prior to a respray, it all just looked a little ..crusty.
I love it when Richard is more natural infront of camera like this.
Agreed, thats true for the whole old top gear trio. I'm not too fond of the show-and-fun stuff. They and the cars are interesting enough as is.
Same
Finally you worked enough on the editing to give us proper Top Gear vibes.
I thought this too
They are very limited to what they could do so they don't resemble old Top Gear. The BBC lawyers will slap a cease and desist. It's why The Grand Tour was so anchored down.
@@DroneStrike1776 Or the channel wasn't generating enough revenue for such high production values to come into place. Lets not forget that other than the odd Captain slow garage-filmed bit, this is mostly a Hammond effort.
@@panaceiasuberes6464 it's honestly a mix of both, though more of it has to do with the BBC (I mean, it _is_ a government owned, funded, and run organization).
@@panaceiasuberes6464 Shows have copyright, if another show copies them too much, that show can get sued. So Drivevibe is trying not to resemble Top Gear too much. Only way to not get sued is by buying the rights to the show
The sound of that engine! ♥
its a real jag noise just a BIT naughty, but in a really likeable way..
it's the supercharger whine that your hearing.
@@bicyclist2couldn’t possibly be the exhaust note either huh 😮👍😂
@@bicyclist2It still has that lovely V8 rumble alongside the Supercharger.
@@ripvanwinkle2002 like most of my British friends, honestly.
Did he crash it
More than likely
😂😂
Yes. Rip Richard Hammond
Hopefully he wasn’t wearing trousers for this review, just to ease the paramedics job
Thats the first question one should ask! ... But, did he crash it?
For those wondering, the title is about the car, not Hammond
Thank you. Never heard of him or the show, but on a human level, his face in the thumbnail looked so haggard and sad. I feared the worst, coupled with the baity title.
this should really be pinned
@@crimsonrain9952 Or you could, I don't know.. watch the video?
He passed yesterday RIP hammond
I think Drivetribe is now the new place for the Trio to continue their antics together and express their love for cars.
I don't think Clarkson is much involved with Drivetribe. I do see May occasionally, but still not as frequent as Hammond.
Hammond owns Drivetribe now. It’s his baby.
Clarkson has mentally moved on to farming. May rather fancies his new role in Life. Now, Hammond is really the only active geared left of the trio.
IDK. So far it has not been all that great and quite a few of the content has been jumped-up adverts.
Hardly. Would you go from multiple millions per season, to barely a drop in the bucket on youtube?
None of them NEED the money, so they very easily COULD, but it's just very unlikely.
I've missed a car review by Richard Hammond.
Hammond still doing his job, this means he really loves it, cool to see
HE SAID "JAAAG" HE SAID THE THING AAAAAAA
AAAAHH
That supercharger whine tho!🤤👍😋
Can't believe they put the hamster down. RIP.
This was so refreshing to watch. Reminded me of the Top Gear episode featuring Jeremy's heartfelt segment featuring the Aston Martin Vantage. Well done, DT 👏🏻
...YES...
Hands down one of the best bits of automotive TH-cam I've seen in a long time. Well done DriveTribe. Absolutely smashing it, nice to see the old Top Gear format back.
The sound of the car is unbelievable
That supercharger's sound 😮🤩🤝
This is just pure nostalgia. The style of production and presentation is still the best in the business. I miss the OG Top Gear, as long as we have these, it’s never totally gone 👌
ah man i missed this, everyone always loved the tours and specials of Top Gear but this is what i miss...
Car review but with soul and excellent production value, BRAVO!
This is why Richard is one the best at what he does
The DriveTribe manual XKR is for sale! Check it out on Collecting Cars here: collectingcars.com/for-sale/2001-jaguar-xkr
Would be cool if Chris Harris would take it for a spin.
Sold for £27000 after bidding ended
I have missed these kinds of car review like vids. Top Gear, whether Hammond, May, or Clarkson, always did a wonderful job. Wish there were still more of these.
Supercharger noises everytime my car gets argumentative 5krpm+ roots noises remind me why I love the bloody thing
I absolutely love builds like this. Some people throw the baby out with the bathwater sometimes, and by the time they are done with their build, the car they have doesn't even resemble the car they started with. This is the perfect way to build a car. It's not changing it. It's making everything better.
Am sorry but Richard hammond always brings a tear too my eye he always does an amazing car justice love live hammond long live drive tribe and the smallest cog
i wondered where richard was going when he said "baggier than your Grandmas....sofa" lol
lol me too
@@AlphaOmega333 i braced myself for it lol
Yes, it's not quite a Shackleton's you know
For a stroll down cancellation street before veering off on to the grass verge. We know how that ends!
@@michelvanbriemen3459you knoww
Probably the best sounding XKR I’ve ever heard, sounds just like a Terminator Cobra
3:06 thats his best analogy ever and i resonate with that feeling
It's Sunday evening. Richard Hammond is on the TV driving an old Jaaaaag.......
Like old times.
2:05 "Baggier than your grandmas... Sofa" - not gonna lie, I was expecting something else
I fell in love with this car so much when it was featured, I was actually motivated to buy a 4.2 XKR in blue and have it as my daily driver. I drove it to the DriveTribe meet last year and had an epic day. However sadly whilst on my way home from the gym in November I aquaplaned at about 60 mph onto the grass verge on a B road about 2 miles from my house and went head on into a tree. Luckily nobody was injured besides my lovely Jaaagg. I hope whoever buys this car loves and enjoys it as much as I loved mine.
😢
The ending. 😂 I so needed that laugh today.
Saying goodbye to these three guys would be more difficult than burying a life long loved one. Wish all three of you all the best.
Loved the: I'd go, but gotta take ma truck.
Love this car, hope the new owner appreciates it!
Richard Hammond, the man who owns the smallest cog.
favourite brand being reviewed by one of my favourite automotive reviewers excellent video just brings that old top gear charm back
Thank you for preserving my grandmas dignity ps this gives me the v8 farewell top gear episode
Absolutely, beautiful automobile. Truly one of a kind. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻From🇺🇸
Jag, has always had a soft spot in my heart. That manual one especially. 😇
I grew up watching Jeremy Clarkson James May and Richard Hammond. As we get older, I miss watching the old Top Gear and Grand Tour very much. I still have my 2002 Jaguar XJR and 2011 Jaguar XKR.
It really does feel like old Top Gear! Good music, FX, camera angles and production ! Well done
Properly done this time this video. Took a while guys. Glad to have you back. Hope to see others on it too.
Хх№х№ filter is missing
this is only a 7 minute video but it feels like the ending of a top gear special, amazing work
ever since Die Another Day i've been in love with XKR. my fave Jag. id so bid on that if i could cos damn that is a beautiful machine
It sounds gorgeous!
This is the car content I need. I love this generation of XK and the one that came after even more, I always wished they had a proper manual. A dream realized, for sure. Even XJs of that era were so charming, I’d have loved one with a manual. Closest we got was an S Type with a stick.
I loved the XJ8 VDP. So incredibly quiet inside, which I love.
If I had six figures to spend, I'd buy a dozen or more Jag XK's and send them all off to the Jag race shop that did this conversion, and have them do it again to a few more cars. So glad that Hammond likes it. I firmly believe that this is the absolute best Jag XK in the whole world. We need many more people working hard to keep the classic manual transmission alive. Thanks.
Love this old format videos. What a lovely manual XKR. Their should be more conversions out there on the roads.
By far one of my favorite cars of all time.
The shape. The sound. Its pure
This is amazing. I do love this Drivetribe content.
Absolutely fell in love with this car playing Gran Turismo 4 as a kid. Had no idea that it was never mass produced for the manual variation.
I would love these occasional drives from all 3 of them.
One of the prettiest cars from the 90’s to early 2000’s
That Cat Sounds Spectacular!🎸👍
Some things are just art that only lives in our memories as the best thing there was
Great looks and a fine exhaust note!
Man I got goosebumps in the first 30s seconds... i dunno why...the last grand tour... the title of the video... his way of talking
Lovely sound and supercharger whine, a very nicely sorted car there... Loved my XKR when I had it, don't miss the rust though! Manual conversion was always a bit of a dream. Would have been even more interesting to make it a sequential shifter like a Touring car! Also love my CTEK chargers, going to look into the garage version for my XJ!
Brilliant piece.
Love the chanel❤, you All put a smile in a normal dull subjekt og teknik and carspeckts.
that ending had me ROFL... classic!
This is like it was in top gear love the reviews and yes still the best reviewer 💪💪
This might be the coolest cat ever made, what a beautiful thing

I absolutely loved this car. I would have loved to have seen some real power making upgrades thrown at it. Headers, cat delete, upgraded supercharger, intercooling system, smaller SC and larger crank pullies, E85 fuel system, and intake upgrades.
A smaller sc pulley would ruin the engine. The eaton unit on these is very inefficient and adds a ton of heat at higher rpms, only way to really get more power out of the aj27s is to get a twin screw SC and swap it in
Love this car Richard! By the looks of it pretty useable too! Great post!
That whine. I miss it. What a great motor.
I died laughing at 0:36 when he mentioned USA gunshots started to play😂
What a sound. Fabulous car 👌🏻
Very nicely out together ❤
Kudos, this reminds me a Jeremy's Vantage V12 sendoff from TG
Good ole classic car review. Wish we could just get a monthly car review video from the trio
Oh, that roads looks so awesome!
It looks very mid Wales but I'm not sure where. If it is, they must've filmed it about 12 months ago. I think that was the last time I saw my shadow...
@@mixerfistit5522 It's the mountainside between Ebbw Vale, Llangynidr and Crickhowell. A well-used location by pretty much every motoring show over the last 30 years!
@@neildaniel8232 makes sense, there's always horses roaming there. I drive it weekly (or at least part of it) but it's been a while since I saw it dry 😂
I loved this car as a kid thanks to all the games it was featured in when it was new. I'd love a manual version of it
Beautiful. Also CTEK chargers are magical
Cool sounds
fantastic video
Top production - well done team
Looks filmed up the Elan Valley, I like it there.
Legend has it he’s still on the road with it 😂
It's also very cool to see Alex collaborating with DriveTribe! He always said he wanted to be a Top Gear presenter in the early days! Dreams certainly come true with work, people! :))
Sounds like heaven.
The lovely sound of superchargers...
From a Ga Boi, that southern accent was spot on 👌🏾❤️👌🏾
Best Jaguar ever made!!
I'm relieved. I thought this was about a guy dying of cancer or something.
❤😮Well Done on letting it go nice to see channels moving on ❤ And other can use them ❤
Title made it seem like Richard was leaving DriveTribe. I was quite sad for a second there.
That sound though 😍
Never owned a Jaaaaag, but I'd love to have that as my first... Only problem is, the steering wheel is on the incorrect side. That and I'm in Australia.
That car was my favorite car to race in gran turismo 4. Grew up with it. Fast and elegant.
I'd love to have a XKR or XJR manual for a little bit. Mostly because I'm thinking of opening an art gallery and need something to pick up the new paintings in.
Well done Drive tribe . Proper send off
Would definitely want to see similar project done to X150 XKR.
Miss my father's 98 xj8. I remember the car actually purring. Not a play on words even if the car was named something other than a Jaguar I would still described it as purring an occasionally he would let me shift which was really fun
Reminds me of the Aston Martin standoff Jeremy did with the V12 Vantage. Similar country views and sounds.
What a fitting send off! Who better to give that send off than Richard.
Luckily its not upside down at the end😅
The supercharger whine.... 😩❤❤❤❤
Wishing there would be a drive tribe special with the trio!
