    Four of us tramped in from the Hollyford,Labour weekend 1976.Hut at bottom of lake full so carried on to
    the rock bivvie at the head of the lake and spent the night. Brings back awesome memories.

      I didn’t realise there was a hut there back in the day, a great spot for it!

    Thanks Daniel for showing us a wild area that not many people hike to. I've seen still photos but video does reveal so much more.

    Bloody hell that is a whole level of post production up from the usual tramping video - fully professional quality. I was there in winter 1980 after crossing over via Giffords Crack. Back then the track down the valley was a whole lot rougher, but everything else remains exactly as I recall it. That defiant kea absolutely captures the spirit of these creatures. My blood still chills slightly every time I hear their unique call.

      Thanks so much Philip. The track in there is still fairly rough and slow, I hate to think what it was like back in the day. The kea are certainly cute for a while, but their company can wear thin when they're continually trying to rip apart your gear :-)

    Awesome video! Did it take 4 days to complete the trip to Lake Adelaide via the Moriane Moraine Creek Route?

    • @DanielMurrayPhotography
      @DanielMurrayPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! We chose to do it over 4 days. It's possible to reach the lake from the road end with one very long day, but the extra time makes it more worthwhile.
