Amazing video as always. Love it with the commentary too. Incredible to live vicariously through your hiking videos! Definitely looking forward to more.
Kia ora daniel!! This is a great impactful story, so very authentic and beautifully documented!!! Love the format. It looks like an absolute gem of a place! I am so keen to visit this for myself!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Cheers mate. I had the Sea to Summit Spark SPII and EtherLight XT. First night must've been at least a couple below freezing - enough to put a thin coat of ice on the lakes. Bag was fine but I could probably have done with more insulation in the mat (tent was setup on gravel).
Jeez the glacier is a fraction of what it was in the 80's. Where you camped used to under the ice. Lovingly well done photography and editing as always!
Cheers Philip. Yes that was something I reflected on a lot while up there, looking at all the gouges and scratches in the bedrock. Must've been an even more spectacular sight back in the day.
Hi, did you have any hassles camping there? Are we allowed to pitch a tent in that area or?.... do we just hope not to be moved on?. Would love to take my teenagers but would hate to plan a hike and end up in trouble lol
There are no restrictions on camping around there, although given how popular it now is, maybe that day is coming! There are a number of places to pitch a tent but good sites soon get in short supply when it's busy.
@@JoshuaJohnsonOutdoors Thanks very much. There's a lot of illegal aerial footage in other videos of this location, and indeed all across our national parks - drives me a little nuts! :-)
Amazing video 😀
Thanks very much :-)
I was there April 14th, you had done such an amazing job to capture all it beauty.
Thank you. Hope your visit there was a good one!

Kia ora mate, thanks for all those kind words and for taking the time to watch! Definitely get up there at some stage, you won’t regret it one bit.
What sleeping gear did you bring ? How cold was it over night you reckon? Thanks for making this

@@DanielMurrayPhotography yeah I Get cold on mine around 0. We have the same jacket and pack lol. The ice fall is great.
@@AbelandVictoria Haha yeah I had noticed my jacket in your videos! It's a great bit of kit.

@DanielMurrayPhotography thank you so much for the reply, can't wait to get down there now.
Great video , Thanks for the inspiration 🙏 😊
Such a gorgeous place and gorgeous video capturing it. Thanks for sharing the stunning views.
Nice edit work with merging the google earth animations with (what appears to be) drone footage. Correct?
Thanks man. No drone footage in the video - not allowed to fly in national parks without a permit.
@@DanielMurrayPhotographycertainly. Sorry, that's not what I was trying to allude to. It's great footage regardless.
@@JoshuaJohnsonOutdoors Thanks very much. There's a lot of illegal aerial footage in other videos of this location, and indeed all across our national parks - drives me a little nuts! :-)
