Never commented on a TH-cam video before, but wanted to say thank for capturing such a special moment for me (38:55 - the guy with the red bandana finishing). Hard to put into words what a special experience this was, but you’ve captured the whole thing beautifully. Sad to hear the troubles between Lamorna and LE, I was in such a black hole during that section as well but luckily was on a high coming into LE or I’d have called it too… swings and roundabouts. After saying never again, I promptly signed up to next years race, hopefully see you there 😊
No worries Sam, it was great to be there to capture your finish! 😊 It looked like you had an amazing support crew with you and it was so good to see the celebrations. Well done on your finish and thanks for watching the channel 🙏😊
Hi, Sam. I thought you were the winner of the race as I was watching the video. I've checked the results and found out that you were number 72. But anyway finishing this race is an achievement in itself.ź👍🥇
Just WOW! What an amazing film. You made me cry at the end - totally inspirational! I’m so sorry your race didn’t go to plan Lloyd, but I love that you made this about the other runners and their massive achievements. What an epic adventure, and I’m sure I’ll come back to watch this many times. Fantastic job Lloyd, Liga and all the Team! 👏❤️
Thanks so much for your kind words, they're really appreciated! Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated 🙏😊
Well done Lloyd, to you and all the other runners, marshals and supporters out there. This is a wonderful memory for yourself to look back on with pride and love, despite the outcome. Those decisions to pull out are the toughest and never get easier. Having been there myself, I fully understand turning the camera off in that moment. But then to continue and support the others and share their stories is truly a testament to your enthusiasm, support and love for this crazy sport we take on. A brilliant account and your video I'll return to many times once more before my first ARC attempt, next year, in 2024. You really do capture, why we Run4Adventure!
Francois, I remember your film from the 2021 SDW100, I DNFd that year at 55 miles with injury and some heat stroke. You pushed on like a legend though. I'm also down for Arc100 in 2024, so see you there.
Top drawer production values, on par with any professional running documentaries I've seen. It didn't work out this time but that's the sport we love. You shouldn't underestimate the number of people you inspire through your work and how many of us have the Arc on our wish list because of your excellent content (even though some of us are very unlikely to make the start line... you allow us to dream!)
Loved this so much! It made me feel a bit emotional watching it and remembering such an epic day! Well done to you and John on a flipping awsome effort out there and for managing to capture this story while you were at it! I felt for John when he was struggling with the unexpected warmth, I also hadn't anticipated sweating quite so much! Thank you so much to you and Liga for putting this together, you've caught some beautiful moments and scenery in there so I'll be watching this many times I'm sure! See you next year for more Arc fun!!
Just watched the video and saw you featured in and then I saw this comment, just watching is mind blowing and you must have a massive sense of pride, great stuff Elena 👏👏
@@Run4Adventure Loyd, thanks for the reply! Love your enthusiasm and passion for running! Inspired me to order a pair of HOKA Mafate Speed 4 trail runners and get back out there!
I can't wait for the 'you and John smashed it' addition in 2024😊 amazing video hope it becomes your no.1 viewed content for all the hard work you all put into making it.
Cheers David, that's really appreciated. I'm definitely lining up next year and it's going to be a very different outcome 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Great film this.. gutted for you and your mate having to stop.. what a top bloke you are to bury your disappointment and film the finishers.. encouraging them to the line.. the chap in blue near the end you talked to ( the pork pie man) was the legend John hammond from the Wirral.. who has done some epic ultras.. great to see him on your film.. hope you go back next year and smash it..💙
Ahh love it! Harry at the end is a local legend in Jersey, given me lots of support. So happy he got the finish, was just thinking would be cool if he popped up and bam at the end!
Some of the very best videography I’ve seen on a TH-cam running channel. Congratulations to all your filming crew & yourself in putting together an awesome account of the Arc. Tough that the body let you down but I know you’ll reflect & come back next year even more determined.
I'm glad you thought so Roger! We had a great team out on the day capturing the race as it unfolded and it wouldn't be possible without them! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel its really appreciated 🙏😊
Amazing and inspiring film, really captured the event. You're one of the reasons I'll be footing the start line of this year's South West Traverse in a few weeks.
I really enjoyed that Lloyd - thanks to you and the team for having a crack at the race and putting together a slick production that captures the essence of trail running.
Brilliant sir brilliant! I am very appreciative that you took the time to put this film together! So many others would have left this story behind untold. Inspiring as always, looking forward to the sequel! 🤩
Not a chance, you have to show the highs and the lows of running Ultras. At the end of the day these long races don't always go to plan and you have to learn from it and move on. Really glad you enjoyed the video William and thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Brilliant watch Loyd. After the Barkleys last weekend I’ve gone down a rabbit hole of watching all things trail and ultra. Perfect timing, I’m sure next year will be different
Amazing! What an incredibly emotional and well produced documentation of a truly inspiring race. Thank you so much for sharing this and putting this together. Just brilliant!
Wondering when this film would hit the streets. You pull us along so well as spectators, point to point, day and night. It's hard not to feel apart of the experience. The disappointment is real and hopefully short lived. Great film! You will be back Lloyd! God Bless!
Thank you, Loyd. A beautiful reminder of the indomitable human spirit and zest to conquor all the things that hold us back. The music was a perfect compliment to the experience. Bravo!!
Loyd man!! I watch your videos for enjoyment, hints, tips and motivation etc etc etc and have just become an emotional wreck! What an amazing film, by far your best one in my opinion. I was gutted for you when I'd seen that you'd stopped whilst following the ARC back in January but massive kudos to you for toeing the line in the first place, recognizing the need to stop when you did but then extra kudos and massive respect for the support and encouragement you give to all of the other runners. Amazing. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to return some of that support when I cheer you and the runners on at Reading Half.
Thanks for the lovely comment Steve! We put a lot of time and effort into the videos we produce and it's amazing comments like yours that make it all worth while. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
I'm so pleased you finally put out this video, I've been waiting to see just what happened to you, and while I'm really sorry you weren't able to finish, you've managed to produce a phenomenal video that was WELL worth the wait! What an epic looking race, and what a well-rounded account of the highs and lows not just of your race, but of multiple other competitors, phenomenal job! You've also inspired me to want to do the Arc as it looks like the most incredible and challenging experience. Really looking forward to watching your progress in the Reading half marathon training, good luck on Raceday!
Thanks for the lovely comment Mark, it's really appreciated. I'm glad our video has inspired you to take on the Arc one day, it's an incredible event and I'm sure you'd love it! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
If a first Loyd…great words and what an amazing adventure. No matter what the outcome you gave it your all and that’s what counts. Congrats to all who entered and well done on another awesome film.
Finally had a chance now to sit and watch this on my 4k TV at home. Just beautiful! Amazing footage, drone shots, panning, zooming, editing, sound and music! Top notch stuff, very professional. And after you ran a ultra marathon. Truly inspirational
Thanks for the kind words they're really appreciated! We put a lot of time and effort into this one so thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊
WOW indeed, inspiring story telling, thank you for taking us with you on this amazing adventure. Fantastic team, and great job Lloyd. Keep your head up and smash it next year, this has inpired many people and I am one of them to maybe next year make the trip back to the UK, after living in the UK for almost 20 years, I came back to my home country 5 years ago but this has inspired me to sign up for the ARC next year and hopefully meet you there and many more great people. Thank you again and keep smiling!
Thanks very much for the lovely comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. You should definitely run the AoA at some point, it's a fantastic experience! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Loyd - the story of a true champion - you! We always remember those DNFs; they’re a gift because we’ll be back at it, even stronger next time. As you will be!
Thanks Troy 👍 I'm definitely lining up next year and it will be a very different out come! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Crikey... I'm supposed to be working this evening...but I couldn't stop myself from watching this video...and I'm so glad I did. Epic stuff, wonderfully filmed. Huge kudos to you Loyd - sorry it didn't go to plan, but your story is perhaps even more inspiring thanks to your sharing the lows as well as the highs. Thank you... keep on..happy running! 🤛
Really glad you enjoyed the video Scott. I tried really hard to get Morgan Freeman but he was busy in Hollywood so David was second best! 😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
As someone who is within the last 6 months, getting back into running and is about to start trail running, this video is a huge attraction to give the 50 a go next year! Great footage there. Maybe see you there 2025!
Excellent video Loyd, so well put together and thank you to the rest of your team as without them it wouldn’t have been possible to have made such a quality presentation.
Thanks very much, really glad you enjoyed the video! You're right, none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for having a great team out on the day 👍 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
A brilliant race! You are all so inspiring!! This video was full of friendliness, great coaching and encouragement to everyone! Loved it! Well Done to everyone 👏👏👏
Maybe the best piece of content you've put out. This beautiful sport has some incredible highs and incredible lows. Fantastic work Lloyd and I have no doubt that you will crush the Arc next year!
Great story told very well, I sometimes consider doing this race but just don't think I have enough 'want' in me to get to the end. I'll have to stick to enjoying those trails in daylight and leave the ARC to those who love the challenge. This video shows so well how tough it is, even when you looked so fresh after 20 miles
You definitely need the 'Want' to finish races like the Arc Richard. If you don't really really want that finish it will eat you alive! 😊 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Absolutely awesome film and you have made it so it highlights things can change so quickly. Thank you for doing the end part of the film which would I assume would have been bitter sweet watching them finish. Look forward to seeing you nail it in 2024
Brilliant vid Loyd, just one of those days ! Anyone who racks up at the start to cover 100 miles, on THAT terrain ! Geez..... Added pressure for you also, aiming to fulfil nutrition sponsor obligations. So when someone as experienced as you has the nouse to 'pull the plug', is what it is. Kudos to you for supporting those at the finish. Next time...... Great rendition of 'The Cure' girls 27.00 🎸
Really glad you enjoyed the video John. I'm not actually sponsored by Precision Fuel and Hydration. I just like their products and they were really helpful building up to the race. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Great video as usual. Love how even though you didn't get to the end, you went back and helped others, top man 👏 your attitude and positivity is an inspiration to us all LLoyd 👍
How beautiful the coastal paths are in England. Did the Isle of Wight this summer. But this really has a great pull on me. The 50 seems doable for me, Thanks for the film, really touching me and inspiring to come out there. Stay cool, dude!
Unbelievable film, well done to all that finished and to those that didn't, you're get them next time. You are all very inspirational, and as an average 50k a week, man, I can't imagine how you can do 100 miles with that terrain and no sleep. It's crazy. You're all your machines, well done.
Thanks Marc, really glad you enjoyed the video. 100 miles is definitely a long way but it's achievable with the right training and mindset. Before I'd taking on the 100 mile distance I thought you had to be super human to do it but that's really not the case. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
@Run4Adventure you looked so good by the way up to that 50 mile mark, it's a shame but I have no doubt you will kill it next time, just unfortunate. Good luck.
Beautiful film. Great effort. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out until the finish. Just trying and standing at the start line of a challenge like this is already a great achievement. Keep on running.
Totally agree, you have to show the highs and the lows and sometimes things don't go to plan 👍 Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Love all your exploits in Cornwall & Chamonix etc Loyd! This race is so iconic and i take my hat off to you and all the participants who’ve got off their arse stood at the start line and took on the might Arc! 👏🏼. Inspirational viewing for us trail runners who aren’t quite at that level but appreciate what goes in to attempting 100 miles along unforgettable Cornish coastal trails!
Thanks Neil, really glad you're enjoying all the content on the channel. The Arc really is an iconic race that's just going to continue to grow and grow. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Just watched this last night. Thanks for putting it out Loyd - It's good to see the good with the bad. Plus this was a great production. And to you ... Onwards and upwards :)
Why the heck am I sitting here getting emotional!! Great race vid Loyd. You will complete it, you know it and I know it. Right, kit on and out into the rain!
Was gutted for you, John and Steve when the dots I was watching moved no more, but this is a fantastic video Loyd. Congrats to you and Liga for telling the story so well.
beautiful Lloyd... one of the most inspiring videos I have seen... I am running the Rab`s ultra next weekend, and this video is definitely helping :) I hope I can get to meet you in one of these races one day :) congratz on the video and maybe I can try to join the Arc next year :)
Top draw stuff Loyd, ta for putting this together... its given me the twitch again despite having not entered for '24. Such a cracking event and a cracking tube of it. Best of luck for '24
This is why I love your videos Loyd, there’s heart and soul with beautiful scenery thrown in. I’m sorry you and John didn’t finish, I felt your disappointment coming through the video. You have the half marathon to concentrate on now and I can’t wait for more of the adventures. Thanks to Liga too for making this another epic story
Outstanding production Lloyd, sorry that yourself and John did not get the result you were aiming for, can make you feel gutted no matter how you rationalise it; absolutely delighted to see that number 212 finished💪 Loved that you went back out to film and encourage the runners on👏👏
Amazing film Loyd. I love running and I love the Cornish coast path but…. running 100 miles on it, I just can’t imagine how people do it and in the dark! Amazing 👏🏼
Amazing content and video production👏👏. A race like this deserves some thoughtful editing cause there´s a great story to be told. I´m very sorry that things didn´t go as planned both for you and your running mate, but there will be new adventures coming soon I guess. Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful moment of ultra trail running❤
Oh Loyd! What an epic adventure you had. Gutted that your own event didn't quite go to plan this year but huge kudos for getting out there to speak to others and congratulate them in, truly special👌🏻 this is such a brilliantly put together video of the most brutal race and really shows what it takes to even step up to the start line of the Arc 100 miler. x
Such an inspirational film, and good to show the true reality of this sort of race. I’m running my first 50k ultra in October - I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for you Loyd, you’ve given me the courage to do it!! 👊👊
Thanks Debbie, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. We really put a lot of time into the content on the channel and it's comments like yours that makes it all worth while! It's great that the channel has inspired you to take on your first Ultra. I hope it goes really well for you and you enjoy your journey 🏃♀️ Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏 Loyd
Fantastic series! The filming was great, the information was brilliant and I felt that you captured the highs and lows of running! Thank you for showing how good running in Cornwall can be.
wow, amazing film, I enjoyed watching every moment in it. I'm so sorry your race did go as planned. I really miss trail running, two months ago I got injured & I'm still recovering

Hard to put into words what a special experience this was, but you’ve captured the whole thing beautifully. Really glad you enjoyed the video Scott. I tried really hard to get Morgan Freeman but he was busy in Hollywood so David was second best! 😂 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Incredible, epic, inspiring, wow!

As someone who is within the last 6 months, getting back into running and is about to start trail running, this video is a huge attraction to give the 50 a go next year! Great footage there. Maybe see you there 2025!
That’s awesome to hear Adam, I’m glad you’re getting back into your running. Glad you enjoyed the video and hopefully see you at the Arc next year 👍🙂
Amazing video, you’ve brought the emotion to thousands of viewers.
Cheers Tony, really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching 👍
Excellent video Loyd, so well put together and thank you to the rest of your team as without them it wouldn’t have been possible to have made such a quality presentation.
Thanks very much, really glad you enjoyed the video! You're right, none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for having a great team out on the day 👍
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
A brilliant race! You are all so inspiring!! This video was full of friendliness, great coaching and encouragement to everyone! Loved it! Well Done to everyone 👏👏👏
Thanks for the great comment, it's really appreciated 🙏
I'm gkad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching the channel 😊
Brilliant film, well worth the wait!
Glad you thought so Petra, thanks for watching 🙏😊
Maybe the best piece of content you've put out. This beautiful sport has some incredible highs and incredible lows. Fantastic work Lloyd and I have no doubt that you will crush the Arc next year!
Cheers Matt 👍
Really glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment, it's appreciated 🙏
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏
Absolutely awesome film and you have made it so it highlights things can change so quickly. Thank you for doing the end part of the film which would I assume would have been bitter sweet watching them finish. Look forward to seeing you nail it in 2024
That's great to hear, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching 🙏😊
Super video Lloyd! Well done ..Many thanks 👍
No worries Davey, thanks for watching 👍😊
Cracking video, and unbelievable effort 👌 music, interviews, and production in the video are so good. A truelly inspirational video
Cheers Scott, really glad you enjoyed our Arc video! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Best film yet, Loyd. Well done. And we’ll done on the race, too! Not the result you wanted but what an effort!!
I'm glad you think so Chad, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment it's appreciated 🙏😊
Good luck.
@@Merritt7278 Thanks Marc 🙏
A Brilliant Run4adventure…..thank you 👏👊

Beautiful film. Great effort. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out until the finish. Just trying and standing at the start line of a challenge like this is already a great achievement. Keep on running.

That's very kind Sandra, thanks for your lovely comment! 🙏
I'm glad you're enjoying the Content on the channel and thanks for watching 😊
Outstanding production Lloyd, sorry that yourself and John did not get the result you were aiming for, can make you feel gutted no matter how you rationalise it; absolutely delighted to see that number 212 finished💪 Loved that you went back out to film and encourage the runners on👏👏

Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful moment of ultra trail running❤

Oh Loyd! What an epic adventure you had. Gutted that your own event didn't quite go to plan this year but huge kudos for getting out there to speak to others and congratulate them in, truly special👌🏻 this is such a brilliantly put together video of the most brutal race and really shows what it takes to even step up to the start line of the Arc 100 miler. x
