@@xradical89x OK, thanks. I'm not trying to be difficult, it's just that I've seen several comments elsewhere as well on audience reaction. It never occurs to me to pay attention unless there's something glaringly obvious about it.
Honestly, find me one time Sudeikis wasn't great on this show. He's really a great actor!
How about here? Utterly forgettable skit... though the writing is likely the main culprit, no idea how much input Sudeikis provided. And sorry, but of course the devil would be thrilled with child molestation, and a risk-taking darker comic would have him making the case, cheering on the pedo priests. NBC would never allow it.
Hannah Taylor Sudeikis was the second best around this time, second only to Hader.

I never realized just how politically charged these devil skits were. When ever he shows up it’s to show his offense at some horrible act (usually abuse) and it’s pretty much just SNL saying “yeah rapist? Abusers? Molesters? They’re worse than the actual devil, no if and or buts about it” and that can hit hard when their intended audience is religious. You can always tell when SNL’s accuracy hits home because the audience is always surprising quiet
I mean, the political stuff is political. But criticism of religion is entitely valid
I'm religious, and this doesn't offend me at all. But I do also believe that the devil is much worse than pedophilia and any other kind of evil.

@@accountname9506 I don't know if you're religious, but Satan is not the root of evil, however, he is evil to an extreme extent and I do believe that he tries to hurt, manipulate, and traumatize people in all ways, including pedophilia. Satan has a part in pushing people to do the evil things that they do. He puts ideas in their head and rationalizes them and tempts them. I don't believe that he's above much of anything. He's fallen very far, but on the grand scale, all sin is evil, Satan does not weigh out each sin and decide which he supports and which he doesn't.

this is hilarious but so on the nose. So I'm from ireland and the school I go to used to be a boys boarding school run by priests. you can fill in the blanks yourself. what's disturbing is that there are still these old shower rooms up a back stairs by the office that everyone refuses to go near. Not just that, only two priests were convicted, (one's still in jail and the other's dead) the rest still live in a nursing home on the school grounds that is easily accessible by walking down a short path. I have to walk past those houses to get into school every morning. btw I am a Catholic and I found this funny.
I'm a Catholic and I don't think it's funny. Not sure why you even wrote such a depressing story that is horrible, about the pain and tragedy of so many lives, and then say you think this is "hilarious." As a Catholic I find it horrific and sad that this is even considered material for comedy, considering how many children, how many people were harmed.

Today the people running the church is not the one Christ founded. They have abandoned the teachings of Christ and the original Traditions of the church. I'm still catholic, but only because of the Eucharist and the fact that it was Christ's original church. The people in the Vatican right now. They are not the Church!
@@myjeevie The point of comedy is to shine truth under a mirthful disguise. The point of the sketch is clearly that the Church should have protected the kids and not the priests, he even says that. But like a spoon full of sugar helping the medicine go down, so can some levity help the message go down into our hearts.
