    That feeling you when hit the power button and all the rgb comes to life is just amazing. That self satisfaction like " wow i really just built this" and as you get into the bios, install windows, install drivers and start to game you realize. I have become addicted to pc building/gaming, this wasn't bad at all i can do this again. 😀 built 3 systems in one year aww man it was awesome. Who ever want to build their first system you can do it.

      You forgot something. That moment of sheer terror where you think everything is installed correctly and you push the power button and nothing happens. You get that feeling of anger, frustration and defeat only to find out hours later that you either forgot to plug the power cable in or the power supply's power switch was turned off...

I'm an IT tech at a school district and a frustratingly large number of "emergency" tickets ended up being a power strip not plugged in to the wall outlet or the power strip is turned off. This is my first time watching Austin. He is very thorough, so if you've never done a build before, he's probably the one to watch. While many others out there have PC build tutorials, I think this is the most thorough, most detailed explanations from picking parts to installing, that I have seen.
    That being said, he did things in a bit of an odd order in my opinion, but that doesn't mean it's wrong. And I am by no means an expert.
    My recommendation to a first time builder...Watch this, and a few other build tutorials, all the way through BEFORE you start to build. This will ensure you know all the steps that are coming, and you don't have to redo things as you go, hopefully. Then, pick your favorite tutorial and watch it while you are building, pausing as needed. Definitely keep any manuals nearby. The motherboard manual is particularly helpful as it is likely easier to read than the motherboard itself as far as diagrams.
    Then enjoy building! As Austin says, it isn't as scary as it seems. In general, building a PC is easier than many think once you have the parts.

    I know it might be a little advanced to look into but I think it would have been good to mention when choosing an air or watercooling solution for your cpu the most important thing to look at is the TDP that the cooler can handle which will give you relative insight into what cpu that specific cooler can handle. I know that every company has different TDP specs and they are not 1:1 but it will give you an idea if the cooler you choose will be able to compensate for the heat per watt that the cpu is putting out.

    It's always interesting seeing different peoples processes when building a pc, for me I always do board prep first, get it in the case and connect the connectors. Then the GPU goes in, then the power supply. I don't know why I put the power supply in last, I guess it's because I dont want to deal with all those chonky cables round the back when im dealing with all the other cables at the same time.

    I would recommend stepping up to a 280 or 360 all in one cooler over a 240. These modern processors run very hot and the boost clocks are very dependent on temperatures. If you have the physical room to go bigger than 240 I would always recommend to go larger.

  • @tomdeu79
    @tomdeu79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The important things were forgoten:
    1. Case: you should look forward to remove the power supply directly from the back (it is a special backplate needed for it) otherwise you dont have access to your cables after installation
    2. SSD: more important is the MTBF value or the value which says how many terra bytes you can write before failing - of course also speeds but samsung is very bad at that value
    3. Cooling: every AIO (280+)is better for cooling than air you should look to get a copper only solution
    4. CPU: Bending problems on the L1700 socket should make you use a special socket - it brings you up to 10 degrees celsius lower cooling performance
    maybe there are some more those little things but those were the most important ones

    • @tomdeu79
