You helped me finally understand Vector Synthesis in 5 min! Those visuals were so intuitive, great work thank you
Good video. Would be better if we could see you do this on a PRO VS MINI in another video. The menus and sub menus are in different places.
Also, it would be a great download to have a data sheet for the default patches showing all these settings. Behringer must have them somewhere!
excellent video gents, please do more of these on your products, it will help your customers immensely!
This video confirmed for me that i do want to add a vector synth to my set up. So i just purchased a vector vs pro mini from you. Thanks! The diagram explained it very clearly.
My first Synth was the Kawai K1-II vector synth, that takes me back. I ordered the vs mini in July 23, it will be delivered start of next week. Can't wait while still waiting for the Victor to be delivered to Thoman Germany
so basically, R1,R2,R3 and R4 are analogous to the ADSR. You would use R1 to set the attack portion, R2 to set the decay portion, R3 to set the sustain, and R4 for release. Awesome!
Thanks for clearing this up, Patrick, with a very easy to understand way of explaining.
My Pro VS mini has just been shipped today so soon I can put this knowledge to practice!
This makes it also clear why you don't need to move the joystick while playing. The morphing has already been 'programmed' during the design of the sound.
Great explanation of Vector synthesis!!! Thank You!!!
Could you ever imagine that Beringer would be the most productive, feedback-receptive, innovative, and even have the most active TH-cam channel among synthmaking companies? It just happened!
Why not?!? Taking the shorter way gets results!! That's why there's always someone taking it!! No surprise here...
Very good visualisation, now I understand how it works and now I am awaiting the fullsize Prophet VS.
Let's hope B can refine the sound to make it a lot more accurate if they choose to make a big, expensive one of these.
@@TiberianFiend I have the original Prophet VS and the sound of the Mini is perfectly accurate
@@music-ic6tg It wasn't accurate at all in the comparison video I watched. Perhaps it's received a major firmware update since then.
Or if you have the dosh - a Solaris 🌞
I desperately want a Prophet VS rack
Animations on this one are great! super helpful.
"this video is getting long" dude, I'm sucking all the info in like a sponge, keep on going! Also, the drawings are super helpful to visualize. Like an oscilloscope for vector. Thanks!
This was great, the graphic made it very easy to understand what you were saying. Kinda felt like you were going to end by demonstrating a bunch of cool envelope modulations to show off what we just learned but all good. Xx
Best explanation ever on vector synthesis!!!
perfect timing of the video...i ordered mine back in september and it shipped today XD
Ordered mine a few days ago, it should be here beginning of the week. My first behringer synth, really excited. This was great, the animations were very helpful.
Fantastic explanation. I really appreciate the time put in to making this video and look forward to experimenting when my Behringer thingy arrives. Thank you very much.
Rad! I just got my mini today so perfect timing. More vids on the mini please. Thank you.👍
Thx for your great explaination and Illustration work! You are worth your salt! But I remember in the first 20 years of Behringer, they have had the best manuals and Lots of explainations and examples for practical use! Please bring it back! No need to print it on paper, but provide it online as a pdf doc! Dont YOU have time to write an explaination manual like 20 years ago! ❤❤❤❤❤
Just got one today and that helps a lot! Great graphics, by the way. Looking forward for more tutorials!
Very helpful! And just in time too!! My pro vs mini is just round the corner to be delivered (finally after almost 6 months)!!!
Excellent presentation!!!
Nice work, thanks.
So well explained my Pro VS is now Sentient.
Excellent. Great visuals. Great explanation. No time waisting. That's how it should be done. Behringer, Thank you very much.
Great video, Behringer. Thank you!
SO helpful!! Thank you, excellent idea on the analogy and animation!!
❤After I missed the first delivery because my order was submitted too late, I am now glad that I received an email from Thomann Germany yesterday evening that my Prophet VS is finally on its way! AND THE SAME DAY YOU UPLOAD THIS VIDEO! Can this be a coincidence?
Love it. Animation helped heaps.
Well done and thank you Patrick, Luigi and Behringer - the animation and video definitely clarified aspects of Vector synthesis for me! Thank you! 🙂👍
Very good video ❤
Brilliant informative video!
Nice work , thanks 👍
Wow, thank you! I was completely lost. Just leveled up, gonna get me playing with this one again.
Visuals very helpful, thank you.
Thanks, it’s very clear. Good job !
Very helpful 👍
Cool! Very informative video!
Very clear explanation, thanks
Animations made it clear, thanks.
Nice video! Question: that arpeggiator sound in the background music (as heard also in one of your introduction videos), is it coming from the Pro-VS Mini? That's a nice Tangerine Dream vibe from the 80s.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks dude. I use that Arp riff in loads of the Behringer videos. I made it with the Crave, the subtle string pads you hear in the longer versions are from the Deepmind 12.
Thanks so much for the details, well done!
I was going to say these animations are amazing
very helpful! thx! more plz!
Ah - I've got it now! Thanks very much!
Very good. News more videos like this for other Behringer products.
Sorry, that should have been "need more".
Very helpful, thank you!
Excellent video!!! It is near inexcusable that Behringer has not provided a used manual of any substance
On the ProVs mini is there a way to use the joystick to control vector position rather than setting points, like the Victor is able to do? I’d like to do live morphing without relying on automation. The only way I found to do this is by putting the synth into the mode to set position one, but this is very limiting because it locks you out of all the other controls.
I second this. I received my Pro VS yesterday and during my first tests I didn’t understand why the mix got “reset” to center with every note while playing a sequence.
@@PeterDeGreeI think I may have figured it out. I haven’t tested it, but one thing I gained from this video is that setting all the R values to zero in theory keeps the mix fixed on the first vector point. So you should be able to use the joystick if it’s set that way. I’ll have to try it out though.
@@PeterDeGreeso I just tested my hypothesis, and no it does not work. Setting all the R values to zero does not function the same way it does on the Victor. Not sure why the joystick doesn’t control a vector point position unless you’re in an edit mode. It makes no sense. This is so aggravating.
excellent ! massive help
very clear explanations
Thanks, this video really did help me.
Thanks, this made things make tons of sense.. for someone who's not that big of a math head. :)
Amazing stuff! Do never underestimate the power of visualisation. Thanks so much!!!!
The animated diagram is excellent!
Great Job!!
very helpfull thank you!
very cool!
Brilliant!
Very informative and well done video, thank you so much. I which there could be a .pdf of this quality somewhere to understand how to use the Pro VS mini !
Parfait,, très bonne explication ‼️ merci behringer ‼️🎹‼️👋
Great informative material. But still I can't figure out, how to stop sound on point chosen by joystick. It's change to the middle at every next note I play.
Excellent analogy. I've used the visualization of four mixer channels. I like this one better. And thanks for doing this. I really think in retrospect people are going to say they underestimated this little synth. There's a LOT of possibility here. I'm going to go for the Victor. It's a great excuse to get the others and save studio space.
Great clip!
This video was REALLY well done. as a synth content creator, I appreciate the challenges of communicatingl behaviors that are not instantly intuitive. I'm looking foward to receiving my pre-ordered Victor.
The Vectrex was a freat vudeo game system too! 🕸️
Anyone know if there are various ‘blend modes’ between the vector points, by chance? Like modulated or otherwise? Or is it just by volume?
Cool. I can see the Victor module being a big success. I'm definitely getting one.
Please add the ability for the mix loops in continuous mode to continue to loop during the release phase of a note
When is the CS80 mini coming?
Do we need this Victor thing to set it up?
I am confused as to what Victor is or where to get one from.
👏👏👏🥰
Great video, but where do I set the Mix Points one my pro vs Mini? Couldn't find a way yet.... Any help ist appreciated
Thanks. Hit the Function button and then press key 13 (Mix Envelopes) and you'll get the same menu I'm using in the video on Victor. From there the process is the same.
@@PatchDog More precise, pressing Function and then 13 three times gets you to the mode where you can use the joystick do set the vector points. +/- cycle through each point there.
The quick manual is a bit "quick" IMO, hopefully someone will make a better one. I love those cheat sheets, like those for the Pocket Operators, where you have all basic functions on one page.
Thanks for the added precision, I didn't have one in front of me. Yes the Quick Start Guides could do with being more intuitive, I agree. I just make the videos. @@paddyboy207
how do you trigger the envelope? If I connect something to "Gate", my module acts weird and i can not hear one of the Oscs alone, even if Mix Env is off. If its on, I can not make it behave like it behaves in your video
What are the destinations for the LFOs? I found it nowhere in the manual
I have not seen this one available yet?
Really hard to beat the PRO VS Mini for that money. I want to send sequences from my Nunomo Qun mk2 to one. I really need this.
Thanks for the great efforts you made!! Easy understanding now 👌🏻
Is there any way to be at the position 4 from the start and stay there ?
Yes, you can easily understand how to do this after watching the video. Just set Vector point 0 to the center of the axis with the joystick and keep R1-R4 value at 0. Exactly like he did but setting vector point 0 to center instead of vector point 4.
Need.. a pro vs mini!
This is great, but it would be really nice if Behringer produced manuals that actually explain these things... When I read an Arturia or Elektron manual I feel like an expert afterwards. The Pro VS Mini manual is basically just an overview of what all of the buttons are without explanation.
that would be cool if somehow there was a custom video eurorack mod that is like your animation
Brilliant. Gonna dust down my wallet.
Great video except I wasted a lot of time by not having a gate signal connected - I kinda wished you'd mentioned that none of the transitions work without that 😢
whata bout 4 ?
When does that come to Brazil?!? Your products are supposed to be more accessible, but not for South America?!?
Victor is definitely tempting me to open my wallet.
Shameless request: Develop a Omnichord with midi, envelop, and filter. Sell for $129. They will sell like hotcakes!
Ich bin meine Fettleber in 3 Wochen los geworden mit diesen 3 Zutaten 😂😂😂Warum wird das nicht verboten! 100% Lüge
Not interested in your synths that are not available for sale. The MS1 mk2 doesn't exist either
Check Sweetwater. They are shipping out. Mine arriving tomorrow
It's finally in stock in DE & UK!
Thomann just announced my Pro VS Mini is in the mail.
Waiting months, so finally!
Yh. Got mine a couple of months ago but this video is super helpful in being able to use vector synthesis properly
Just got mine in the USA from sweetwater pre-order.
How can I make inspiring sounds with the Victor when I'm still waiting for it? When are they shipping?
