Aww, you cut off before the best part! Lucy: How'd he do that? Ethel: Beginner's luck. Fred: Beginner's luck nothing. You forget I was a little bit of baby boy myself once. Ethel: It's hard to believe he was ever a little baby anything! 😂😂😂
This was my brother with my youngest nephew. My mom, older niece and I were all trying to calm him down when he was no more than a month old while mom was busy working on the house. Each of us had him stop crying for a minute or two and he’d start again. My brother comes in and holds him and he’s calm as can be. All the tricks we tried and my brother just holds him. The nerves.😂😂😂
Fun fact;not only Lucy Ricardo was a new mom there to a baby boy but also Lucille ball was one to Desi arnaz Jr. And she looked amazing here after having give birth and going back to work. She looks so cute with her hair all messy. Lol
@@davidguerra9994 The baby twins that played this bald infant Little Ricky, Richard andRonald Simmons, are 69 now, so are the ADORABLE Polish twins, Michael and Joseph Mayer who played the 7 month- 3 year old Little Ricky with the longer auburn hair! Lucy Ball was the Queen of Comedy She was a genius at making people laugh I enjoyed all her shows I love you Lucy thanks for the laughs Rest in peace May God bless you always
I remember when my niece was born she would always wake up at 2 or 3am and even you changed her and she was already fed. It was the way I would sing to her and Rock her back and forth. It don't have to be a rocking chair. You can do the sofa there. Just sit on the sofa and you rock with her. She went right to sleep. The rocking soothes the baby.
Rocking my baby boy was not enough to him.. guess what worked? No, not the car thank goodness. lol He liked sky-gazing and chirrup of singing birds during day and stars at nights. He’d gaze endlessly until his lids got heavier and couldn’t hold them open no more. 😊✨
Oh God this brings back memories No joke I had to call my mother in law at 3am crying my eyes out to help us and it took her 20 min to get to the house and 4 min to get them(twins) to quiet down
Back when I had to take my daughter with me to MHMR, we watched this part on I love Lucy. Cherish started in so bad I had to take her out of the waiting room into a secluded area
Total of six child actors, actually. James John Ganzer played Little Ricky as a newborn, identical twins Richard Lee Simmons and Ronald Lee Simmons played Little Ricky as an older infant, identical twins Michael Mayer and Joseph Mayer played Little Ricky as a toddler, and Keith Thibodeaux (billed as Richard Keith) played Little Ricky as a five-year-old. The baby in this clip is either Richard Lee or Ronald Lee Simmons. Even though Little Ricky is supposed to be a newborn in this clip, he's obviously being played by an infant a few months old. James John Ganzer appeared only in "Lucy Goes to the Hospital".
This was a poignant episode introducing Mrs. Matilda Trumbull, a cranky neighbor who complains about the baby’s incessant crying. Mrs. Trumbull, played by the wonderful character actress, Elizabeth Patterson, goes on to become a semi regular on the series as the Ricardo’s default babysitter. Her initial crankiness gives way to a warm and loving nature, an asset to an already superb cast.
It doesn't sound like a real baby, it sounds like a VA making baby sounds, which is weird, because why would they even need/think/want to do that? There was a real baby right there onscreen.
At least back then, people understood that a woman couldn't do this and hold down a full time job, too. The mother slept when the baby slept. If either the father or the mother can't stay home with the kid, and the idea is to drop kick the baby to child care (also known as a bunch of underpaid strangers taking care of your baby) why have them? There are thousands of studies showing that the baby's attachment to the mother is the most important thing for brain development. If you want to end up with a poorly adjusted or mentally ill child, just drop them into day care when they are 2 weeks old. I had a couple of sisters-in-law who thought they were going to put the baby in child care and go back to work, but they freaked out and couldn't do it. I wouldn't let someone I didn't know take care of my dog, much less a helpless baby. If you can't raise them, but don't want to abort, put the kid up for adoption to someone who does have the time and resources to actually take care of it. YOU'RE NOT DOING THE CHILD ANY FAVORS BY KEEPING IT WHEN YOU CAN'T TAKE CARE OF IT PROPERLY.
I remember when I couldnt stop crying my mom couldn't figure so my grandma figured out the problem was was has gas when baby has gas you do is push legs in and out and relieves gas. Heidi
How does Ethel just walk in the apartment without knocking? People left their doors unlocked in the middle of the night? I grew up in 50s and 60s and don't remember the doors being left unlocked
It was probably safer back in the day, plus it being a fictional show. Plus there's the possibility that since the Mertzes were the Ricardos' landlords they probably had a passkey.
My first born was a night owl Would stay up crying all night...but if you took her out of the crib was fine Wanted to play and was wide wake-and by 6 am she was ready to eat breakfast and go to bed To this day she works nights as a computer soft word/coder developer and sleeps during the day and hates early mornings-We were parent zombies for years!! My other three were not like that at all !
If I were.lucy I would keep rocking the baby on the rocking chair until he falls really asleep. Babies need to be rocked on the rocking chair for a time period til they fall asleep
This is funny but I wish she didn't need to go through sleepless nights comforting the baby. Babies can actually sleep through when they are in close contact with their mothers. It's very simple but a lot of people try to do the normal exhausting method. Putting babies in a cot all by themselves isn't necessary. Yeah you want the bed to yourself but the kid needs to be near you.
My favorite is the ending when Mrs. Trumbull was holding the baby and said as long as she's around he'll never have to worry about being alone ❤
❤
I remember that now!
Me too. She just wandered into the apartment and shushed the baby down. Also, I know it couldn’t be helped, but no way would that baby be bald.
Meee tooo !! It was precious how much Mrs Trumble came to be such a help to Lucy in the show and loved little Ricky !!❤
Ethel is so kind to come in and help Lucy in the middle of the night :)

And you start missing when they were that small 😢

Brings back memories! Look at the single beds! They couldn't show a double bed for married couples on TV back then! LOL. I love Lucy was the best!

I like I love Lucy it's funny and little to cry is cute.
Sometimes you have to cry with the baby
Must be the period of the PURPLE cry.
That was me and my baby girl 😂😂😂😂😂
Its so funny watching this scene now that I've had children. I m like put the baby over your shoulder. Put him over your arm and rub his back. 😅
I’m like did they push the beds together or just slept in the twin together
The first season they had one bed. Then the censors changed it.
