OMG, you have no idea how long I've waited for an INTELLIGENT reaction to this song! 99% of the TH-cam reactors spend 24 minutes blathering on, saying "what won't he do? I don't understand!" because they're too stupid to actually listen to the lyrics. I just end up annoyed while listening to one of the greatest rock songs ever written. Finally, a reaction from someone who cares enough about the music to actually listen to it and smart enough to follow the story. It let me feel the chills that this song inspires once again. Brilliant, amazing, and please do more Meat Loaf - his work deserves a reactor as good as you!! 🔥🔥🔥
Even videos Meat Loaf describing it step by step are full of stupid comments. "He did not tell" "what is that?" No wonder all is going to shit when this is the intellectual limit.
I just remember my foster sisters fighting about it back in the day. One insisted he meant he wouldn’t cheat and the other insisted that he was a vampire in the video and he meant he wouldn’t bite her 😅
The imagery here, a blending of Dracula (I have crossed oceans of time to find you..), Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, The Wolfman is simply stunning. The ugliness he sees in himself slowly fading as he realizes that she sees the beauty in him... absolutely gorgeous. Michael Aday (Meatloaf) will be forever missed. RIP Big Man 💔
Must shout out to the genius of songwriter Jim Steinman, who wrote all of these wonderful Meat Loaf songs. Other singers sang Steinman to success, but none greater than Meat Loaf!
Meat Loaf was in a league of his own. You are the first reactor I've ever seen that got the song right from the start. Most spend the entire song wondering what he won't do.
There was such a great story about that song. Meat was doing a showcase for a bunch of recording luminaries. He gave For Crying Out Loud everything he had. For a split second, after he finished, you could hear a pin drop. " Oh, no, I flopped," He thought. The place just blew up! Billy Joel was standing on his table scraming his head off.😂
This is the best reaction to this song. It's amazing. You got the idea immediately and that allowed you to enjoy the song afterwards. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Thank you.
Loved your reaction…so spot on! Steinman is a musical genius and ML is a force of nature…that voice and masterful delivery! No one twists up my emotions like these two.
Man the first time I heard this, I was seriously taken back when she came in like she did. SUCH a good song. I love getting to watch the younger generations experience all the amazing music that I grew up with and see them truly appreciate it.
Beauty and the beast as it’s never been done before. Or since. Still Remember this video the day it came out. It was epic. Still holds well. His creativity and those who worked with him. What vision and inspiration to show emotion and tell a story.
He is clearly a vampire. Steinman always said that his songs are only about three things: motorcycles, erections, and vampires. This song is Steinman's continuation of the story he told in Bat Out of Hell. At the end of that album, Meat died... or so we thought. In reality, after his motorcycle crash, he was saved by being turned into a member of the undead. From there, he wandered the Earth searching for true love, the only thing that could restore his soul. He'll hold her sacred, he'll hold her tight, he'll never lie to her (and that's a fact), he'll be there 'till the final act, he'll take the vow, he'll seal the pact, there will never be no turning back. It's all a mirrored reflection of what he learned about his mistakes in Paradise By The Dashboard Light. Also, he has an aversion to mirrors, isn't so good with the sunlight, and is sporting vampire fangs. And his beds are full of Valkyrie, whom Steinman saw as a symbiotic conjugate race to vampires.
I remember my father playing the Bat Out of Hell cassette tape in his car when I was growing up. I loved it so much! I have it on Vinyl. Meatloaf was an amazing singer! Definitely underrated imo.
Meatloaf is a total performer. He puts his all into his performances. You should also check out the live performances of Two out of Three Ain't Bad and Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Of course, there is also Kickapoo from The Pick of Destiny movie that features Meatloaf, DIO and Jack Black.
he was one of the few who could sing Rock / Opera / Pop etc . Beautiful voice R.I.P

Oh how i wish Meatloaf had lived long enough to see and hear your reactions to the song and video, you nailed it! I loved this song as a teen when it came out, and your review of the song and video renewed my joy for it, already added it back to my play list thanks to you.
This song came out when I was a senior in high school. I truly enjoy all of your reactions because these songs bring back so many memories. Keep up the great work man!!!
This music video was a spin on "Beauty & the Beast." Just a heads-up. I believe this song held the #1 spot on the Billboard 100 for a month (?). It was a really big song back in 1993.
@@Bad-Karma How? Seriously interested for examples. I see no parallels to Dracula or even Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (that I think has a merit for comparison)....
@@JasonMistretta-wf5ip You can look to the three brides of Dracula in the bedroom scene for one. Also, the fleeing from the "hunters" i.e the police. The pull to make her like him yet redeeming himself when realizing he couldn't do that kind of evil to that which he truly loves. Those I'll give you, but the book offers far more parallels. If you're in a hurry, the movie can give you a few as well although you'll be missing a far better story. Still, the stories do hold similar patterns of struggle and ultimate redemption arcs as was indicative of their age. You could even argue that with the numerous candles and being very well dressed in a gothic "feel" that Meatloaf brought in a few elements of the Phantom of the Opera. Meatloaf considered himself to be first a stage performer and actor and singer secondary. I've always believed that he wanting to bring that world over to share these things he loved with his musical audience and, as with this music video, we are better off for that gift.
Modern girl is a must or for crying out loud, or Life is a lemon and i want my money back. All Meatloafs songs are worth listening to . Objects in the rearview mirror is the story of his childhood friend.
One of Meat's finest songs and video's, a musical interpretation of the old 'Beauty & The Beast' fairytale, made with the legendary Jim Stoneman who Meat worked with so often. The lady who sang the female part was actually the very fine English vocalist Lorraine Crosby. Nice reaction Shon. Unlike many other reactors, you 'got' this one very quickly, and fair play to you. 🙋♂
Im number 420 to like this and its perfect bc meatloaf is my favorite artist R.I.P. but im subbin and do more meatloaf he died a lil wile ago he deserves flowers. And for rap react to Kendrick Lamar cartoons and cereal its hit most requested song at the moment but never released on a album... ❤❤
I'm not sure what u do 4 a living , but it's obvious that your extremely intelligent, insightful with a fantastic perspective and personality. Add that with being easy on the eyes and you'll be at a million subs in no time . Thank u for sharing your musical journey with us. 🙏 #peaceandstaywild
I watch all your videos and you are exceptionally in tune with lyrics and musical storytelling, so I’ll suggest one that people almost always forget about by Meatloaf: “Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closet Than They Are.” The story. The acting. The message. I think it will really catch hold of you in a way you won’t expect.
Funny you touched on his acting. Meatloaf onece said he wasn't a singer, he was an actor who could sing. He was classically trained in opera, and acted in several box office movies, as well as character spots on many TV shows.

This was from the bat out of hell album thus the outfit/look….. Meatloaf was an actor …. Have you ever heard of the Rocky horror picture show!!!! it would blow the mind of the LGBT alphabet city soup people👀😙🥴🤪👍
Another great artist to look into is Bonnie Tyler. She also worked with Meat Loaf's collaborator Jim Steinman on her best known song "Total Eclipse of the Heart"
8:51 "The acting skills" Meat Loaf? Rocky Horror Picture and Fight Club? Letting alone that this video was directed by Michael Bay and all his music carrer was based on opera kind of music.
Meatloaf producer, Jim Steinman is responsible for the sound that made Meatloaf really popular. He uses big sounds and dramatic/emotional feelings to produce a desired effect. You can always tell a song that has been produced by Jim. You recently did Air Supply and he has done songs for Bonnie Tyler - "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "I Need a Hero" and others. This video is a Beauty & the Beast take off. Was a really popular MTV video during the day.
It had a fairy tale feel because it was beauty and the beast and he transformed from the beast in the end. (not that you could tell the difference with Meatloaf, lol.) Interestingly enough, this video was directed by Michael Bay. This magical combo also made another great song and video called "Objects in the Rear View Mirror may Appear Closer Than They Are", which I highly reccommend.
Shon - Meatloaf "Hot Patootie" (Bless my Soul) from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" check ✔️ it out 😮 one of my favorites.✌️Peace ☮️ and Love❤ Gary😊 great reaction 🤣
Meatloaf was awesome. He was in fight club even - “his name was Robert Paulson” bob from the testicular cancer support group that would bury Edward Norton’s face into his chest 😂. Cool guy and the epitome of an artist
So this is my husband's favorite Karaoke song, lol. And he can sing it well. The problem is he has a habit of singing it first and just blowing his voice out for the rest of the night. RIGHT 😂😂😂😂 just said forget it 🤦🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️😂😂😂
yap he nailed the meaning of this song as he almost always does on his reactions
This is soooo true. Always bothers me 🤦♂️
Even videos Meat Loaf describing it step by step are full of stupid comments. "He did not tell" "what is that?" No wonder all is going to shit when this is the intellectual limit.
Most people never get the "won't do that part" and you were straight on it. Nicely done!
Yes, wanted to say that. ♥
Agreed, goes over most people’s heads even after multiple listens. Very impressive!
Ive known this song my entire life and this only clicked in my 20s. Impressive lyrical deduction
Blah, blah, blah. What he won't do is turn her into a vampire.
I just remember my foster sisters fighting about it back in the day. One insisted he meant he wouldn’t cheat and the other insisted that he was a vampire in the video and he meant he wouldn’t bite her 😅
“Will you hose me down with holy water if I get too hot!” Best line in song. LOL
RIP Big Man 💔
First reaction I've seen that immediately got the point what he "won't do " kudos Shon great work as always
This is one of, if not, the GREATEST Meatloaf song. Such a powerful message, and a wonderful singer. R.I.P ❤
Must shout out to the genius of songwriter Jim Steinman, who wrote all of these wonderful Meat Loaf songs. Other singers sang Steinman to success, but none greater than Meat Loaf!

‘For cryin out loud’ is a must ❤
Absolutely!!
There was such a great story about that song.
Meat was doing a showcase for a bunch of recording luminaries.
He gave For Crying Out Loud everything he had.
For a split second, after he finished, you could hear a pin drop.
" Oh, no, I flopped," He thought.
The place just blew up! Billy Joel was standing on his table scraming his head off.😂
For Cryin' Out Loud is a must here, such a powerful song
Great reaction ❤ One of my favorite songs by meatloaf is "Objects in the mirror are closer than they are." ❤❤❤
This is a classic from my childhood. The musical production is next level. So happy that you reacted to this one. 🔥
"For crying aloud" is a beautifully written song. Worth a listen. My favorite.
One of my favorites off the album
This is the best reaction to this song. It's amazing. You got the idea immediately and that allowed you to enjoy the song afterwards. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Thank you.
Meat Loaf was in fact an actor as well... Damn good actor!! R.I.P. to him!
Loved your reaction…so spot on! Steinman is a musical genius and ML is a force of nature…that voice and masterful delivery! No one twists up my emotions like these two.
Had me smiling so big my cheeks hurt. Awesome reaction and understanding of the lyrics.
I'm so proud of you. Most people get lost wondering what "that" is.
I saw Meatloaf live and he did NOT disappoint!
Shon, you are easily the best TH-cam reactor. Not many actually take the time to figure out the lyrics. Know that you are appreciated 🙏
And he gets it right away. Hell, it takes me 10 listens to figure out these things.
Man the first time I heard this, I was seriously taken back when she came in like she did. SUCH a good song. I love getting to watch the younger generations experience all the amazing music that I grew up with and see them truly appreciate it.
Same here. That way, the music will live on.
A great reaction....you get it and understand the music and lyrics. The audio and visual is a masterpiece. Thanks man!
For crying out loud and heaven can wait. Beautiful songs
Awesome reactions,u give me hope in younger generations!
Another hidden gem from Meatloaf is " Life is a Lemon and I Want my Money Back ".
Meat Loaf "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth" official video 👍
Best reaction I’ve watched to this song.
Meatloaf is a total showman
Written by Jim Steinman who also wrote Making Love Out of Nothing at All, by Air Supply that you reacted to several days ago.
Beauty and the beast as it’s never been done before. Or since. Still Remember this video the day it came out. It was epic. Still holds well. His creativity and those who worked with him. What vision and inspiration to show emotion and tell a story.
Vampires have always been a sexy story! I love this song 🎶 rip meatloaf 😇
I always thought of this as an interpretation of Beauty and the Beast

Jim Steinman wrote many of Meatloaf’s songs. Such a great partnership. Steinman’s song writing genius and Meatloaf’s voice and charisma.
I remember my father playing the Bat Out of Hell cassette tape in his car when I was growing up. I loved it so much! I have it on Vinyl. Meatloaf was an amazing singer! Definitely underrated imo.
You mentioned Meatloaf's acting. He was in several movies. One of the best was Fight Club
He was also in "Black Dog" with Patrick Swayze and Randy Travis!
And The Rocky Horror Picture Show, also on stage in The Rocky Horror Show and Hair
Meatloaf is truly one of the greatest! He takes you on an energetic, melodic, theatrical adventure! He's definitely one of my favorites
he was one of the few who could sing Rock / Opera / Pop etc . Beautiful voice R.I.P

Thank You Shon, one of the few that “gets it” as for a lot of people it goes right over their head.
Meatloaf hit big in my high school years. A LOT of airplay. We had so many different great artists one after the other. We were spoiled. RIP Meatloaf.
Loved your reaction to this beautiful rock ballad. Takes me back to my college days. ✌🏻💕
Definitely reminded me of 21 questions but never thought about it until you mentioned it! 🎉🎉

Great reaction to one of my top ALL TIME favorite songs.
The full 12 minute version of this song is so good. It really gets the rock opera aspect that you can't squeeze into half the time.
My Suggestion-- BaBa O'Reilly by The Who!! 🎉🎉🎉
Paradise by the dashboard lights is so damn good by Meatloaf

"Bat out of Hell" next up 😀
It’s like an opera!
It had a fairy tale feel because it was beauty and the beast and he transformed from the beast in the end. (not that you could tell the difference with Meatloaf, lol.) "Couldn't have said it better" from 2003 is also a fun duet. And rather funny.
Once in a lifetime Voice
Man, I didnt realize you'd never reacted to this utterly amazing song, glad you finally did though.
Heaven Can Wait is my favorite, but I like both of his first two albums.
OMG!!! I love this song! ❤❤❤ You should watch and listen "I'd lie for you" by Meat Loaf it's like a continuation to "I would do anything for love"❤❤❤
One of the nicest men to have ever lived in my eyes go watch the meatloaf story documentary it was amazing x
Can't wait for this. Also check out Rock & Roll Dreams Come Thru
He will never forget the way she feels right now ,he won't do that.
If you are turning into a meatloaf fan, then go further down the rabbitt hole with " Objects in the Rearview Mirror". I thinki he brings some of his own personal history into that song. Love your reactions the best. Never stop exploring music!

Shon - Meatloaf "Hot Patootie" (Bless my Soul) from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" check ✔️ it out 😮 one of my favorites.✌️Peace ☮️ and Love❤ Gary😊 great reaction 🤣
I remember that in Italy it had a great success......now forgotten
This is my personal favorite because, unlike many of his songs, it ends up happily going away together.
Love that man rip
Meatloaf was awesome. He was in fight club even - “his name was Robert Paulson” bob from the testicular cancer support group that would bury Edward Norton’s face into his chest 😂. Cool guy and the epitome of an artist
He was a story teller
So this is my husband's favorite Karaoke song, lol. And he can sing it well. The problem is he has a habit of singing it first and just blowing his voice out for the rest of the night. Have to keep telling him to save the Meatloaf till the end. Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through is another amazing one off this album. A very young Angelina Jolie is in the video, lol.
If you haven't reacted to "Dead ringer for love" from the late great Meatloaf, then i would recommend that next. Great song.
Love 50cent do u love me like a fat kid loves cake best line ever 😂
Great song and reaction
Some other great Meatloaf songs are Heaven Can Wait , For Cryin' Out Loud, and Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are.
It's been said plenty of times in the comment so you got to check out FOR CRYING OUT LOUD...
