    1977 In 6 mos I went from 165 to 125 pounds, paying no attention; living on the cheap and eating basically bread butter ostmeal and some fruit and NO protein. Once Made flour tortillas and hamburger burritos for my friends once as a test. Big hit they had never had them. I did not drink coffee yet so missed a lot of 'opportunite' pour l'experience et culture

    I studied French for five weeks last summer in Lyon and Rouen may be in my future to study in this summer.

      I don’t know if the place is still available but reach out to the host of the place I stayed if you do go. He regularly plays in a local concert band. Based on your username you may get along well. abnb.me/MLEuOcublyb

    is that good city to live in for the new family? talking about the quality of life also...

    • @CameronImpastato

      I’d feel comfortable raising a family in Rouen. I don’t know the quality of schools or which areas would be best; but quality of life was great.

    again surprised with your airbnb monthly price. again i checked: e.g next week for 1 month and average price is far over 1000€. How are u finding these deals??

    • @CameronImpastato
      @CameronImpastato  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1) I only travel to places where I can find a good deal.
      2) I book private rooms, not entire apartments.
      3) I book ahead, out of season. For example I booked this in early spring when prices hadn't been raised for summer.
      If you're looking at an entire apartment on short notice ask for a discount. I've heard of hosts accepting as low as 50% the asking price.
      Hope these help!

      @@CameronImpastato Thanks, yes this sounds reasonable. Planning ahead so early is nearly impossible for me. For sure direct contact gives normally a discount at least 20% and provides the opportunity to view the place beforehand.

      are these very early bookings in airbnb normally cancellable with refunding?

    • @CameronImpastato
      @CameronImpastato  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not something I look at so I’m not aware. My understanding is booking for more than 27 days (28 is the threshold for monthly discount) makes the booking nonrefundable. Any less and I think you can. I could be completely wrong though.
      Perhaps sending an inquiry with a 27 day timeframe to the host when asking for the discount might work.

      Hi Carsten,
      I'm Cameron's airbnb host, and I can say I don't apply extra costs on summer... because summer is the only period I have guests actually, and no matter how many days you book in advance, it doesn't change the price ;)
      But you're right saying you can have a discount by chatting with the host, because this way, I guess you can pay cash most of the time, and none of you or him/her has to pay airbnb fees.
      Feel free to contact me if you pass by in next summer ;)
      (and about the cancel policy, it depends on hosts, not on airbnb, every host can configure it as he/she wants)
