Hey man. I want first to say you should have way more viewers from the editing to show the actual price of things. This was a professional job, so well done. I’m going from Canada, so I converted your cost to Canadian dollars, and man, wow. I’ve looked into Europe for my first international in a long time, and more Eastern Europe and Sofia, Bulgaria may be my first stop come April. Seeing this breakdown was a job well done.

Excellent video and very informative! I've been living in Mexico for the past two years and am interested in trying some European countries, namely Bulgaria. Thank you for your work!
Having a Bulgarian wife, I've enjoyed the wonders of banitsa (and Bulgaria) for 20 plus years. I'm hoping to retire there when the kids are out of school.
Great video! Thanks! I have a question: Is it easy to rent outside of Airbnb? Or is that the best option for monthly accomodation for nomads? I mean, I'm sure the local market is cheaper than Airbnb, but I don't know if they rent for short stays. LOVED YOUR CHANNEL!
Thank you for such kind words, it means so much when I know they're finding the right people. When moving month to month I stick with Airbnb for the convenience. If I were to stay for more than a month I would start in a super cheap place then tour other options. For this I'd post what I'm looking for on the local FB groups and reach out to some local Realtors. I'd also look for other rental sites as each town seems to have it's own version of Craigslist. Short term is possible, you'll pay a little more though :).
I'm looking to go there for a summer semester with one other colleague, trough Erasmus program for students, we are given 800 euros per month, would you think it would be sufficient?
800 per month per student of course, would you think we would live comfortably considering we would split the costs of rent and monthly bills, like electricity, Internet and ect
Rent is usually the most expensive cost when in a foreign country. Depending on that and how you eat/cook at home - yes you could live well. It might look like this: $250 rent $50 misc $50 transport $50 emergency $250 food $150 fun Expect to experience stress the first month as you adapt. Get through that first month with money saved and the remaining months will be good.

I live in a family of 4 at around 1000$ a month, I can confirm this. Also it is very very rare youd find a person who earns 1500$ a month, definitely not average. More like high society.
293$ for food for the whole month?? How much do you eat mate, I also live in Sofia and I cook all my meals almost every day and the bare minimum of money I spend on food is 250$.
Great vid! Would be good to see the detail costs but either way, thanks for the info! Made my decision to visit Sofia and stay for a month.

Sofia’s an excellent city but the surrounding towns are also great places to stay. I totally understand retiring there.

Awesome video Cameron, convinced me to go haha. Are you still there? How is it 1 year later?
That’s great to read. I can’t seem to stay in one place too long but look back at that time fondly. Especially when the urge to ski comes.

All the prices are adjusted for the current season. If you’re staying outside of summer, ask the hosts for a discount.
