    The Gen2 XGT Impact Driver in USA actually the "cheap" version in 40v lineup not the Flaship like GTD01

    Hopefully Makita will release newer versions of the 40v impact drivers.
    The 18V 173 series has some features not available for the 40 V.

    Makita user here! Folks! I'd rather choose the Japanese made Makita XGT TD-002G over the USA XGT's IF you folks didn't know both USA gen1 and Gen2 are NOT IP-56 Rated only the Japanese made is IP-56 Rated and both gen 1 and gen 2 didn't have DST's (Dual Spring Tension) only the Japanese made one have it. And DST Dual Spring Tension is a great feature to have on an impact driver because it guarantees that your fasteners will not be destroyed by the tool's power and torque, the Japanese made Makita XGT have 2 Springs inside the Anvil the soft one and the hard one. Plus the Quad Light is brighter that those 2 USA Makita XGT's the bad thing about the gen2 is that Makita USA gets rid of the Toggle Switch above the trigger which is only Makita have those, the toggle switch allows the user to switch the speed and torque in just one hand operation and Makita USA is so stupid enough to get rid of it. Yup! So the Japanese XGT impact driver is far superior than those 2 USA version. Actually that's what I use in my jobsite the Japanese made XGT impact driver and the LXT TD-172 and I got the new LXT TD-173 which is I haven't used them YET! Because my old XDT-09 and XDT-16 are still working and they already took tons of abuse in the jobsite I replaced their clamshell housings 3 times already and the tools wont quit! They're still working

    Is the Gen. 1 closer to the XDT16 or 19 in terms of smoothness and trigger control?

      @UltimateToolReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely closer to the 16, the 19 is still best for smoothness out of all Makita Impacts I've tested.

    400 usd is cheap for thar kit. Makita seems so cheap in the USA compared to New Zealand, We pay 380nzd for the gen 1 skin only so like $250 usd

      Most LXT impacts are under $100 here, XGT is quite the jump up in price. You can buy the XGT impacts from Japan for well under $200.

      Yea I used to live in NZ for a few years, and things are just more expensive. And pair that with a lack of big sales like we have so often in the US, and tools are just crazy expensive. The US is such a consumer culture that there are big blowout sales every few weeks where you can get massive discounts. I'm not sure anyone really buys tools at full retail unless they desperately need them. I only ever buy anything full price if I need it right away for a job or if its a new release that I really want, and don't expect to go on sale for several months. But I don't miss buying anything in NZ.
