Hey did you know that the Golden Guard is actually Luz's twin brother, they were separated at birth because emperor Belos wanted an heir to his throne.
Now that it wouldn't be a spoiler: if you go back to the season 1 finale, "Young Blood, Old Souls," during the flashback scene for the "duel," you can see a younger Alador and Odalia siting in the bleachers.
one of the main reasons why i love the line “stay away from my luz” is not just because of how romantic it is, but because the name ‘luz’ actually translates to light, amity is also basically saying “stay away from my light” :))

I know I already said it before in the Grudgby episode, but it's worth repeating: our precious Disaster Lesbians are just going to continue getting more adorable throughout the series. 1:55 - Dana confirmed in a Tweet that the twins have naturally green hair like their mother, but Amity has brown hair like their father, so her mother makes her dye her hair because "she likes her children to color-coordinate." 8:35 - New voice, same actor. Real-life puberty happened between seasons. 15:56 - Another "Amphibia" reference, Hop Pop on the cover of the book. 23:35 - Also notice that the Abomaton's hammer was solid, but when it lifted it back up it had been hollowed out.

Most shows these days tend to move forward, only older shows like... Pokémon or others seem to never go anywhere until the end. (Which is sad, since it'd be so nice to see them dating! )
I am so happy to see you watch this episode specifically! There's so much to talk about. Remember when you said last time that you wondered what character you'd fucking hate. Meet Odalia Blight Remember the flashback in Understanding Willow? Amity was wearing that necklace even back then. The fact that Odalia makes Amity dye her hair to her exact shade of green as opposed to the ones that the twins have is disturbing to say the least. Odalia Blight is voiced by Rachel MacFarland aka the sister of the creator of Family Guy. The "witch puberty" was actually the result of the kid who played Gus having a big growth spurt/voice change at the end of season 1's production so they wrote it into the show. Going away from trivia I love how Bump genuinely likes the kids. I also love Willow's parents, they're so cool. Eda and Lilith's subplot is very interesting and the way they discovered more about the glyphs is fantastic. And last but not least LUMITY!!!!
I do like how another reactor actually produced merchandise with the logo _"Blushes Mean Crushes!"_ While it might not be true 100% of the time, it's true more often than not in this show! And I'm also looking forward to seeing your reaction to the ... events ... of the Library episode. Oh, and the Hooty episode too -- a big fan favorite that, we've all wanted to see more of our favorite bird-worm!
There are four primary colors, too! Three to control hue (either cyan, magenta, and yellow or red, green, and blue) and one to control brightness (black or white).
Amity's mom is a psychological abuser. Psychological abusers often gaslight people or make them feel like they can't escape or go against them. The amulet makes it so that Odalia can gaslight or threaten Amity without anyone noticing. Plus, it makes it impossible to ignore Odalia when all you can hear is her voice.
The Lumity interactions here are so sweet, watching these again makes me extra sad when Luz wakes up in the season finale and discovers all her adventures were a dream and she's on the bus to Reality Camp. The way she looks longingly out the window and quietly says "Amity" right before the credits roll never fails to break my heart. 😭😭😭
Amity wears the oracle necklace thing a couple times in the first season, including in the Willow flashbacks. Clever planting. Seriously though, can't wait for the fearsome fight between Gus and a monstrous duck in Season 3.
Like, so many good scenes with the Golden Guard. They're so ominous and mysterious, and really conflicts with the softer parts of their personality you see in the previous episodes. Like, HOW could you guess it was really Gus all along? And that it connects to his witch puberty, going from just spying on Luz to becoming old enough to play more a active role in the coven? Oh yeah, and also that the Emperor's coven spies could be literally anyone and anywhere. PLUS exploring his and King's relationship like that after last season, without knowing it's really him! Such great storytelling and writing!
A great way I saw someone explain the 4 glyphs-infinite combos thing was saying that each of the four different glyphs are like one of the letters in DNA (A, T, G, C), which can be arranged in SO many different ways to make so many different traits and characteristics in an organism. Just another way of looking at things.
I can't wait for Moscow to get to the reveal the Golden Guard is actually Eda's kid that the emperor raised to be a weapon against her. Honestly, the shared mannerisms and the owl mask made so much sense after that.
The gay is everyone's favorite part of the show, but brace yourself for tragedy, Mosco. Amity dumps Luz in episode 18 after destroying an abomaton that Alador invested his soul into.
ACTUAL SPOILER: That is rly close lmao- not the dumping part, but the abomination, luz destroying it, and amity getting mad is right. Not sure about the episode number tho, I don’t remember if this is the one…
15:57 the book Willow's Dad holds up? The frog on the cover is Hopediah Plantar, one of the main characters of "Amphibia." Which you should definitely watch, even if you don't review it. Dana and Matt Braly (the creator of "Amphibia") worked together on "Gravity Falls." I'm a fan from Colorado, USA: I Love the channel.
I think it’s interesting you bring up the dad being into innovation and his work (to the detriment of his family), cuz Eda does that too in this episode. It’s a parallel I didn’t think about.
My favorite part about how the glyph combos work is that it actually makes some sense from a physics perspective. Fire would be increasing energy, Ice would be decreasing energy, Light has no matter and therefore requires it's own glyph to manipulate, and Plants generates life. Theoretically, with those 4 elements you legitimately could do anything.
Behind the scenes thing about Gus. There was such a long time between seasons that Gus' voice actor actually did go through puberty and his voice dropped. But rather than replace him with a sound-a-like, Danna and the team just made the "witch puberty" excuse so the kid could keep the role.
The tattoo on the wrist is something introduced last season during the Coven-tion episode! They seal away all magic other than the coven the witch joins. So Bump joined the abomination coven when he got out of school. And so that's the only magic he can use. (Not spoilers, just something mentioned before that is important to remember)
(At 2:03) the mother Odalia likes to keep her kids color coded. Aside from the hair color thing the only thing the kids DO have in common, with their father Alador, would be his yellowish golden eyes.
"Well, she still probably will be oblivious to amity's feelings..." Oh, trust me, it's impossible to be oblivious to what's coming in the next amity episode. Although luz after that still somehow questioned what that was...
Oh, Mosco you're set up for so much heartbreak, when Luz falls in love with The Golden Guard, only to discover, that he was Amity's brother Edric all along.
Isaac Ryan Brown, Gus's voice actor, kinda went through *human* puberty between recording seasons, and rather than try and hide it, they just rolled with it. That's his Coven sigil. And the Blights aren't the ones using it...
Oh wow you are not going to be able to stop from screaming when Luz finally confesses her feelings to Amity. Odalia and Alador set up Amity on a date with The Golden Guard to solidify the abomaton deal with the emperors coven. They gaslight Amity into thinking Luz will never notice her to get her to go along with it. The twins tip off Luz that Amity is being forced into this, and Luz crashes the ball, confesses her feelings, challenges the Golden Guard to a duel, and then runs off into the night with Amity.
I cannot help but think the line "Water Tribe," when Amity gives her siblings the "I'm watching you" sign, possibly because Mae Whitman, who voices Amity, also played Katara in Avatar: the Last Air Bender.
The witch puberty line actually foreshadows the accelerated aging everyone on the Boiling Isles experiences. We eventually find out that Liz is actually OLDER than Eda.
Odalia gets what's coming to her at the end of the season. One of the coven heads reveals that everything he's done was part of an elaborate long-term plan to get revenge on her for stealing his boyfriend (Alador) when the three of them were in school together.
The sleeve is her holding space, a magical field all witches have. It allows a witch to always have certain items on hand even if they can't logicality contain it. Eda's is cleverly in her hair.
13:38 that his coven mark, meaning Bump is in the abomination coven. And no Blights are not in charge of it. That belongs to horde prime.... wait, wrong show, same voice.
The tattoo is a sigil, they're tattoos they get when they become part of a coven. All adults need to be part of a coven by law, and the sigil's are what binds there magic so they can only preform spell's accessible to their coven. Amity, Willow & Gus don't have those because they're still kids, but Amity's parents have sigils for their covens (oracle & abomination) and Lilith has one for the emperor's coven.

Moscooo, did you forget about the Covention? We learned about the coven sigils like on Bump's wrist. They don't always bother with drawing them, but every non-covenless witch has them.
Odalia is a Blight by marriage. She uses that family moto upon the family for her purposes. She has studied the Oracle track but her Pride keeps her from true sight.
*rubs hands together* Let the Odalia hate begin! Also Willow's dads toad book has a picture of Hop Pop on it as a shout out to Amphibia, which, if you haven't watched, you should.
Coming up Luz accidently raises the dead and they interrupt a Luz and friends karaoke night where Amity sings "I put a spell on you" Eda with out powers, heads in to the wild where she befriends a large bird and a giant spider and trains with them to learn new skills Luz agrees to be the human attraction at a freak show themed wax museum in exchange for a clue on how to get home only to find out its run by con artist Tibbles who wants to turn her in to a wax statue Amity has to battle a giant bug monster who breaks her leg off and she never gets it back. U gotta love the Anphibia reference there with Hop pop's face on the cover of Wilow's book on the life cycle of a common swamp toad. Also this episode does make me wonder looking back on it is there like a reason why Wilow and Gus's parents aren't also a part of the PCA like Odalia and Alador like is it major donater's only or something?
Here's a headcanon of mine: "Odalia" is a term that is used in the Demon Realm in the exact same way "Karen" is in the real world. I don't think I need to explain why.
Codes: "Seething seas" "SE" Unlike most of the teenage cast, Gus is actually voiced by a teenager, so the witch puberty over the course of the in-universe two weeks or so was their way of working with the change in his voice over the several months that passed in the real world. The thing on Bump's wrist just his coven sigil, he's part of the abomination coven. Quick edit, I see now that you said that, but I still want to comment on him being part of that coven: We did see him controlling abominations back in "I Was a Teenage Abomination," if I recall, and I don't think he'd be allowed to be principal if he wasn't part of a coven. "Amity, you've come a long way from squishing King's cupcake." Ha! It's still funny to bring it up for jokes though. I've previously referred to the trash can Gus gave Luz during "The First Day" as an Odalia costume, as well. And now you can see part of the reason why! I can't stand this character she's so awful. I suppose that is the mark of a good villain, though. Something kind of interesting: So, at this point we've established that there's four glyphs, but there's nine covens, and only ONE of them lines up with the basic forms of magic of the glyphs (plant). One. And I feel like that is very much intentional: there was always something kind of off about the coven system, and that's just gotten more and more obvious as time goes on. And now it's clear that the covens, simply put, are not how magic works, and that seems pretty important. I also like how it's King that figures that whole thing out with there not being more glyphs. With how young he is and the way he acts a lot of the time, it's easy to forget just how smart the little guy is. Magic isn't even something he's all that interested in. And next episode has more King! Oh I've been waiting for your reaction to that one, as I've said. Repeatedly.
I love how well you managed to read Alador and his relationship/dynamic with Odalia He's not much of a good dad and mostly just does what Odalia tells him to do or say, but he's not a bad person, definitely not nearly as bad as Odalia (as we've seen at the end there with Alador standing up to get her to keep up her end of the deal and leave Amity's friends alone; I know some people take him going "she might be strong enough to become a Coven head someday" as a sign that Alador has some hidden bad agenda of his own going on, but I'm pretty sure that that was just him knowing exactly what he needs to tell Odalia to make her calm tf down and drop it) Alador's a personal favorite of mine, partially because his mannerisms and such are extremely relatable to me
I can't wait till we get to the war episodes, where Amity's dad becomes like a one man army against the abomatrons to protect his daughter! the animation quality in that fight is like, top notch too!
I think daina actually awnserd why Amity dyes her hair in a post that I belive said something along the lines of: Odalia likes her children to be color coordinated (Or somthig like that)

Gasp, Lumity episode!
I’m excited to see what you think!
This is a very stressful day bc it’s Thanksgiving in the US today where I pretend not to be queer in front of conservative relatives, so I really needed some joy. Thank you for that!
We can always be your relatives. We're proud of you.
This reply goes out to _everyone_ who might be struggling with the same feels as @StoveSalamander: Your found family in the fandom accepts you for who you are. Always remember, you are _awesome._ Stay awesome!
@@LoquaciousOfHerd that much is true family ain't limited by blood. As was evident with Eda and Luz
All the love and sympathy, Salamander!
@@alexkoder1982 This 100%!! You. Are. Valid!!
Amity being the perfect combo of cool and dorky in this episode, as she was always meant to be, and winning luz's heart. What a banger! I'm REALLY excited for next one.
I love how whenever those two [you know who] are on screen, the animation quality zooms up into the stratosphere
We know shits about to go down when the animation improves hahahaha
I know I already said it before in the Grudgby episode, but it's worth repeating: our precious Disaster Lesbians are just going to continue getting more adorable throughout the series.
1:55 - Dana confirmed in a Tweet that the twins have naturally green hair like their mother, but Amity has brown hair like their father, so her mother makes her dye her hair because "she likes her children to color-coordinate."
8:35 - New voice, same actor. Real-life puberty happened between seasons.
15:56 - Another "Amphibia" reference, Hop Pop on the cover of the book.
23:35 - Also notice that the Abomaton's hammer was solid, but when it lifted it back up it had been hollowed out.
*smug gay* *the squeal* FELT THAT! This episode is still one of my favorites and I really enjoyed your reaction to it! I love your reactions. You never disappoint and you're also so entertaining to watch. Excited to see your reactions to the rest of the series in the future :3
Edit: Your neighboors texting to ask if you're okay was both so wholesome and funny xD
You know a comment is coming from a big name when it gives you a notification in your TH-cam Studio app instead of the regular app!! hahahaa this was a lovely surprise to wake up too :D
I started looking you up on Google and immediately beside the search popped up "The Owl House" so on my quest to avoid ALL spoilers I asked my mods to help me and they told me you've reacted to Arcane and I'm pretty sure I've seen some of your Arcane videos :D
I've added your reactions to the list of "Videos I will binge when I am done watching the Owl House." Having to avoid so many channels right now because of spoilers and youtubes algorithm recommending videos!
But thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, it really means a lot to me :D My neighbours are VERY WHOLESOME people!! I'm excited to keep watching this amazing series!!!
@@WeeLassReacts No worries! I know the struggle of having to avoid other channels while reacting to a show lol. I'm excited to see the rest of your reactions to the series. Yeah I feel that! I got Total burnout from my old channel that I'd been doing for about 5 years (WeeScottishLass) and then I sort of gave up...

I'm really glad they didn't continue Luz's obliviousness. As fun as that dynamic was in S1E17, it's good that they keep the story and the characters moving forwards.
Also, I can't help but notice the color scheme of Luz's flower crown in that photo at 12:37
Most shows these days tend to move forward, only older shows like... Pokémon or others seem to never go anywhere until the end. (Which is sad, since it'd be so nice to see them dating! )
i can't wait for the hooty episode it's really funny when he locks the main cast in the cellar
I am so happy to see you watch this episode specifically! There's so much to talk about.
Remember when you said last time that you wondered what character you'd fucking hate. Meet Odalia Blight
Remember the flashback in Understanding Willow? Amity was wearing that necklace even back then.
The fact that Odalia makes Amity dye her hair to her exact shade of green as opposed to the ones that the twins have is disturbing to say the least.
Odalia Blight is voiced by Rachel MacFarland aka the sister of the creator of Family Guy.
The "witch puberty" was actually the result of the kid who played Gus having a big growth spurt/voice change at the end of season 1's production so they wrote it into the show.
Going away from trivia
I love how Bump genuinely likes the kids.
I also love Willow's parents, they're so cool.
Eda and Lilith's subplot is very interesting and the way they discovered more about the glyphs is fantastic.
And last but not least LUMITY!!!!
TEACHER'S PET LILITH IS JUST AMAZING
Love how they managed the whole fandom to
s1ep18 - CANCEL LILITH!
s1ep19 - OK, maybe not.
s2ep01-02 - I love Lulu!
XD
@@Meglivorn for real
I do like how another reactor actually produced merchandise with the logo _"Blushes Mean Crushes!"_ While it might not be true 100% of the time, it's true more often than not in this show!
And I'm also looking forward to seeing your reaction to the ... events ... of the Library episode. Oh, and the Hooty episode too -- a big fan favorite that, we've all wanted to see more of our favorite bird-worm!
Elijah ❤
"Stay away from **MY** Luz"
I also imagine this was how Eda and Lilith were like as schoolchildren
Amity looked so cool saving Luz and their blushing was adorable
“It’s probably bc she is distracted from someone hmm I wonder who the fuck that could be” GOT ME WHEEZING
I always find the fairy pie extra funny considering Mae Whitman also played Tinker Bell.
I can't wait for Moscow to get to the reveal the Golden Guard is actually Eda's kid that the emperor raised to be a weapon against her. Honestly, the shared mannerisms and the owl mask made so much sense after that.
Neighbor: "Are you okay?"
Mosco: "Yes, fine, just adorable gay panic, nothing to be concerned about, I'm just in lesbians with these characters."
The gay is everyone's favorite part of the show, but brace yourself for tragedy, Mosco. Amity dumps Luz in episode 18 after destroying an abomaton that Alador invested his soul into.
ACTUAL SPOILER:
That is rly close lmao- not the dumping part, but the abomination, luz destroying it, and amity getting mad is right. Not sure about the episode number tho, I don’t remember if this is the one…
@@NyehNyeh12It was ep 14 :)
15:57 the book Willow's Dad holds up? The frog on the cover is Hopediah Plantar, one of the main characters of "Amphibia." Which you should definitely watch, even if you don't review it. Dana and Matt Braly (the creator of "Amphibia") worked together on "Gravity Falls."
I'm a fan from Colorado, USA: I Love the channel.
This gave me a lot of appreciation for the magic system. I wasn’t really getting it until this explanation
"Well, she still probably will be oblivious to amity's feelings..."
Oh, trust me, it's impossible to be oblivious to what's coming in the next amity episode. Although luz after that still somehow questioned what that was...
Oh, Mosco you're set up for so much heartbreak, when Luz falls in love with The Golden Guard, only to discover, that he was Amity's brother Edric all along.
I love how you never forget about the cupcake thing 😂
20:50 Amity said "MY LUZ"!
the thing on bump's wrist is just a standard coven sigil, like we saw that witch get all the way back in covention
I cannot help but think the line "Water Tribe," when Amity gives her siblings the "I'm watching you" sign, possibly because Mae Whitman, who voices Amity, also played Katara in Avatar: the Last Air Bender.
The tattoo in the Principal's wrist was the symbol of his coven. Every witch has their coven symbol in their wrist and it is what channel their power
The witch puberty line actually foreshadows the accelerated aging everyone on the Boiling Isles experiences. We eventually find out that Liz is actually OLDER than Eda.
That preview is absolutely amazing
Odalia gets what's coming to her at the end of the season. One of the coven heads reveals that everything he's done was part of an elaborate long-term plan to get revenge on her for stealing his boyfriend (Alador) when the three of them were in school together.
The sleeve is her holding space, a magical field all witches have. It allows a witch to always have certain items on hand even if they can't logicality contain it. Eda's is cleverly in her hair.
Since Amity's is in her sleeve, as long as she wears a top with sleeves she can access the inventory
It is Thanksgiving in America when we give thanks for the thing we are thankful for in our lives( and eat a lot of food). I just wanted to let you know that i am thankful for you and all of your hard work on these videos. You are one of the few things that I always l👀k forward to to brighten my day. Thank you very much from straight from my heart.💖
Moscooo, did you forget about the Covention? We learned about the coven sigils like on Bump's wrist. They don't always bother with drawing them, but every non-covenless witch has them.
(At 8:37) don't get too excited. He's still shorter than the three 14 year olds girls: Willow, Amity, and Luz.
22:08 I don't know if you noticed but Amitys dad is just smiling there like- *"Well this is interesting."*
He saw how strong Amity had gotten.
Momma Blight = Dolores Umbridge + the head evil robot (the mother) from Robots + Stella from Helluvaboss. Aka hate her entirely.
23:48
I love this, is actually shows you that the dad is willing to take so much from the mom and I love it😻
I look forward to seeing her react to the Odalia redemption episode. Made me rewatch the whole season with a new perspective of Odalia's actions.
Amity: stay away from "My Luz"😠😎
Luz: 😳
First you hated Amity, then Lilith, but you grew to love them...wait until Mama Blight's redemption arc. Definitely best mom! 🤔

Codes:
"Seething seas"
"SE"
Unlike most of the teenage cast, Gus is actually voiced by a teenager, so the witch puberty over the course of the in-universe two weeks or so was their way of working with the change in his voice over the several months that passed in the real world.
Repeatedly.
That little "uh-huh" is one of my favorite lines of the entire show. So much packed into that. THAT was the moment she fell in love with Amity, 100%.
I love how well you managed to read Alador and his relationship/dynamic with Odalia
He's not much of a good dad and mostly just does what Odalia tells him to do or say, but he's not a bad person, definitely not nearly as bad as Odalia (as we've seen at the end there with Alador standing up to get her to keep up her end of the deal and leave Amity's friends alone; I know some people take him going "she might be strong enough to become a Coven head someday" as a sign that Alador has some hidden bad agenda of his own going on, but I'm pretty sure that that was just him knowing exactly what he needs to tell Odalia to make her calm tf down and drop it)
Alador's a personal favorite of mine, partially because his mannerisms and such are extremely relatable to me
I can't wait till we get to the war episodes, where Amity's dad becomes like a one man army against the abomatrons to protect his daughter! the animation quality in that fight is like, top notch too!
Who knows, maybe there'll be a redemption for Alador.
Dana Terrace says that homophobia or any other kind of enmity against members of the LGBT+ community doesn't exist on the Boiling Isles.
(At 10:15) Didn't her mother say she do something if she didn't sever her ties with Willow? Well this is her keeping that into the deal.
Both she and Alador said that they were going to do something.
You already forgot about the coven sigils? Wrist tatoos are mandatory on the Boiling Isles :D
i love these videos so much! youre so positive and these reactions just make me smile! never stop pausing please!!!
I think daina actually awnserd why Amity dyes her hair in a post that I belive said something along the lines of: Odalia likes her children to be color coordinated
(Or somthig like that)
I love your reactions cuz you pay a lot of attention to details. You’re the first I’ve seen to point out where the Grom pic fell from, for example.
Odalia is so hypocritical about Amity being "distracted" by Luze, when she herself is "distracted" with her Kikimora affair.
