14 Year Old Wins At Her First Car Show!

- A few weeks ago my 14 year old daughter bought her dream car for her first car when she gets her license. A 1971 VW Beetle barn find survivor that we found on marketplace for a steal at $2,000. If you have been following this project you know that we got it running after being parked for at least 23 years, and then we fixed the brakes and installed a new wiring harness. In this video she is going to try to get it ready for its first car by cleaning it up and doing some buffing and paint correction. Then we will see how many of our cars can actually make it to the car show.

Wow! That's a well deserved prize for everyone who worked on that challenge! Dad worked in the hot sun so tirelessly on that project that he began to get confused - even calling his children 'kids.' But those four-legged adults and four-legged kids where everywhere, and it's easy to hold out a lettuce leaf to the wrong mouth.

I think a perfect first vehicle for Squeezie would be an old VW bus (camperized, off course), with a roof rack for surfboards and she can drive all over the States and beyond to all the sandy beaches where she can stay barefoot, do her artwork and hit the waves!!

Nice donut Ralphy! You instantly brought me back to my 84 mustang build in 2010 when I let my son rip it all over the lot. Then a year later we did a 6” lift on a 2002 Tahoe loaded with leather and third row but with huge tires. Again, he broke that in with a 2 minute donut show. I love these vids guys. Cheers from NY.
We have taken my wifes 2012 New Beetle and my 68 convertible to Bugfest at Mid America Motoworks in Effingham here in Illinois. The more people who go, the more fun it is at any show. My 68, Fred, is definitely "vintage". Lol, too big of a pothole and hes in danger of fenders falling off. But hes a part of the family.

Congratulations to the whole family you all are inspiring. I just love how the kids just jump in and make a big project like washing them all up so easy and quick. So many kids in the car sleeper dude couldn't get into wash anyting all you could do was step back and admire the hard working family Crew. I could tell by the sound that he couldn't have been any Prouder at that moment and just had a priceless feeling about how well the kids took to the job at hand. I noticed Wawa I had a RC cola in hand for her trophy picture congratulations on the trophy. Thankfully the only breakdown was a small issue with the kids driving the truck around too much prior to you guys taking it to the gas station. I'm sure there are a lot of answered prayers that day please make it please make it. Lol great video of course you are all just amazing together and we are all happy to get to come along with you on this journey to support the youth group. Y'all are some clowns when you get together and really get to having a fun time. I had a VW 1973. I enjoy washing it. My car had a name (tweety - Yellow Canarie). They are the best, as long you keep a good service it can last a long time. CONGRATS!🎈

I'm just jealous that your entire family have nicer (or at least more fun!) rides than I do lol. Seriously - I love the way you two interact and include your kids in all of it! My kinda folks! And yes - excellent that your kids will be able to drive stick! I gave my older daughter my 1981 BMW 528i 5 speed in 1998, she was one of the only high school kids we knew that could drive a stick lol.

Congratulations to Wawa on her trophy. I had my girls and boys helping me work on cars when they were growing up. I just got a video of my 5-year-old granddaughter helping her Dad fix brakes. I couldn't be prouder.

He put duel port heads.
He had a two barrel carburetor.
Add a oil filter(extra oil).
Headers!
Bigger/larger overhead cam.
Had a Hurst Shifter.
And a VW bus clutch.
At the track, he run high 16's.
Not this one. But an earlier one. Had a gas heater. Cook you out of the BUG!
PS. He had a small block of wood. Rounded like a bowel on the bottom. This sat in the floor jack "SADDLE". With this he said he could pull out a VW motor in under 15 minutes!!
