- The Red Bull surf team's first aerial training session on the newly built skateboard bowl. Jordy Smith, Michel Bourez, Mick Fanning and Sally Fitzgibbons all tried adapting to the new board and skate deck - much different from a surf board and wave - and after a while it proved as a perfect training ground for aerials in the water.
Borrowing training concepts first proto-typed by snowboarder Shaun White during "Project X", the best of the best, including two-time and reigning Men's World Champion Mick Fanning, Women's World Champion Sofia Mulanovich, Junior World Champions Julian Wilson and Sally Fitzgibbons, along with international stars Jordy Smith and Michel Bourez will be expanding, honing and refining their aerial repertoires with the assistance of professional coaches, pro skateboarders and the use of gymnastic facilities.
The star of the show is not any one of the surfers, but a custom-built skateboard bowl tailored specifically to surf style moves with right and left "breaking" ramps that are exposed to a large foam-pit.

This is the reason why i'm happy to pay a little extra for RedBull. They spend a lot of money on their athletes and make great videos for us to watch, unlike other leading brands.

i sometimes do the same thing when i skate, because its a shoelace when you bend your body the shorts will pull down a bit putting pressure on the shoelace keep it straight, making it in this case look like a G-banger...it definately is a shoelace belt...
Even people on redbull knows that enjoy makes the best boards around!
ok, so I guess we learned that skaters are WAY more skilled than any surfers will ever be.
They are good on a skateboard, I use to skate I know its hard. But they got it man.

@manitsmatt Skating helps with surfing, and the conditions aren't always the right conditions to try aerial surf manouvres. But I understand what you're saying, practice makes perfect.

I wonder if they have tried longboarding, i think that`s nearer to a surf-like feeling.
dude i live on a beach and skim boarding comes after snowboarding in terms of respect. its super fun but there isn't allot of options for riding. its more like the board sport equivalent of throwing a football around on the beach.
