- Ellen Pompeo spoke to ET about the upcoming season 18 of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ on the red carpet at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards, airing Sunday on CBS and Paramount+.

In past interviews Ellen has stated that what she loves most about her job is that it has provided her with security within the industry as well as consistency in a work schedule that has allowed her to balance it with her family life. It's the same balanced dynamic that Chris O'Donnell found on NCIS Los Angeles
They should jump forward ten years to Zola as an intern.

I read once that they should end with a flash forward with a young, brilliant intern visiting a patient in a nursing home and is having an an alzheimer's episode. End it with a, "Mom, it's me....Zola." It's a beautiful but sad way to end.
Another would be Meredith walking into the light to her family that has passed. That would be beautiful but that's so many people being left behind and would mean her sisters are caring for the children.
Basically, as long as there's something to show that Meredith lived a long life amidst struggle....then I'm good.

As others have said, i think season 20 should happen. Then it can end then. Truly i don't want it to end 😂 but I mean we've had an amazing journey on this show, especially the fans too. I'd love for it to continue while the cast enjoy themselves and the stories are there to be told. I've been here since day 1 when it began. Who knew we would still be here.

Been watching it since 2005. Which was my final year of Uni. My entire adult life has had grey's in the background. And I don't want it to end. But I really don't want it to get bad at the end. The last season was really strong and I don't know if it is possible to maintain that.
@@carriew5106 interesting that you found the last season to be strong because i thought it wasn't very cohesive and was sucking the joy out of the watching experience for me. when you watch a show it's to entertain yourself and while it's important to have some real life issues adressed the last season felt like they were shoving covid and blm/racism down our throats

There’s a bunch of spin offs now and probably will continue to be forever. There will be another show that will be like Greys that will fall in love with again.

I mean the only person I really cared about being on the show was Sandra O, If they brought her back for the 19 season then there could be a 20th but after the 20th that’s most likely going to be it. Make 20 seasons. Season 20 make only 9 episodes like the first one, and close with Zola going to the Hospital as a resident.
I honestly didn't know that the show is still around until now. Wow... she started when she was in her 30's and now she's in her early 50's. 18 years is longer than many marriages. No wonder she looks so exhausted. 😣

Feel sad to think about how even the Dead characters had more chances to comeback to Grey's than Katherine Heigl, they have never reached to her, it's sad how they ruined her character and that it's most likely for Cristina to come back than Izzie :(
@Maroš Šlepecký i agree with U, most of the people hate on Izzie because of Jolex, but the character was amazing, Izzie Stevens it's my favorite character from the whole show, because she cared about patients, and her friends and because she was so damn strong and she went through a lot ti become a doctor and she didn't need to say how much she struggled every 5 seconds like Jo, Izzie was amazing and i still hope she returns someday :( even though it's impossible
@Maroš Šlepecký Why was Katherine Heigl a terrible human? For saying Knocked up was sexist? It was. For withdrawing her Emmy nomination? The plotline was absurd, very bad writing. She was not difficult, she was real and honest. The toxic one was and is Shonda Rimes.
Heigl ruined her career. She's a self proclaimed psuedo-diva. I liked her until I saw her nasty attitude offscreen. No one else is to blame for her choices. The show did connect with her and they agreed to part ways. It was the right move. Only people of similar attitude defend her. Shes where she chose to be
@@juliajulie8500 I fully agree with u, Shonda Rimes had problems with Isaiah, T.R, Katherine, Patrick and many other cast members, when you see the amount of people who went through the same it's easy to see who's clearly the problematic person, she lost her mind because she had the power of the show, her ego was higher, and after Katherine left she used every single opportunity she had to make Katherine's character look mentally ill, even the own Meredith said in the show that Izzie was crazy, like they were never friends, or like she didn't begged her not to leave, i just hate what Shonda did to Izzie

It would make sense if it ends after season 18. Bringing back past cast members in season 17, and more to return season 18. That seems like a ending to the series to me.

Make it to season 20 please. Then, Station 19 will also make it until Season 7. unless Station 19 can stand by itself without Grey's Anatomy. Make it more memorable final season (for 20 I mean), bring back the characters - Jackson, April, Arizona, Callie, Alex, Izzie, Christina. It will such an awesome ending for a long run TV series.

Oh no just stop it. I can't help seeing Meridith keep being left alone by her loved ones. Just make the og characters come back or have cameos before the season end and it will end in peace.
