I like how she mentioned the ocean environment destroyed the old house so she pretty much had to rebuild from the start. Didnt realize that happened though i know they have to repaint bridges over oceans constantly cause of the corrosion.
I love how she simply explains her household's little and relevant stories whilst describing the whole home tour. Love her vibe and sweet smile. The best part of this home is the wooden pieces that add so much coziness:)

I do love the historic photos, yeah. I did find it a bit interesting she didn't seem to feel any need to also teach her kids about the other half of their history, since half of their family and ancestors are european, but that may be just the reality of being mixed race in the US. She may just feel like her kids will already learn plenty about that side of their history everywhere they go?

LOVE HER and her cool house it’s such a work of art - rare because most celebrity homes are dull with a bunch of expensive furniture abd decor

For someone so incredibly wealthy & successful in her career her way of being is so grounded & down-to-earth that it blows my mind as to how she happens to have accomplished this feat. I watched her recently on Actors & Actors with Katherine H. & again, EP's no-nonsense, earthy-grounded perspective & way of being was incandescently inspiring. I love everything about this house- exterior design, interior furnishings and decor. I think it's especially noteworthy that it's not what you'd typically expect from a California beach house- mid century structure with a lot of dark, rich colors.
Never saw anything by Ellen, but her personality shines through and love the way she talks about the children especially how she banishes them to watch the ocean as punishment!
I love how knowledgable she is about all of the details of her home. So much beautiful thought and attention to detail was put into making it a functional work of art as well as a warm home.

Having watched a few episodes of AD, I have in past years been impressed by a few. This home's beauty stands above all I've watched. Mid-century modern is my absolute favourite design so I love this house. The black marble is a bit dark for my tastes...I like and appreciate a much brighter, lighter home, but to each her own. I LOVE the black excellence she features so her children have inspiration and representation. I had no idea about her kids. She's a walking talking Meredith Grey in real life if seems. She's so down to earth and bubbly. I love it.

The way she said " l have black children," instead of 'mixed children' just made my heart so happy! She knows who they are and isn't afraid to sugar-coat it. I love her so much!
I ask this in a genuine, and hopefully respectful way, but why is saying 'black children' preferable to saying 'mixed children', when the mother is white?
Both are true...they are black, and they are mixed.
@@Mrs.Currie Because in society today, being mixed is always looked at as “better” than black children. For her to say my “black” kids signifies she sees their race as both and not just the white side as opposed to other white mothers with mixed children.

Mid-century modern is my absolute favourite design so I love this house. The black marble is a bit dark for my tastes...I like and appreciate a much brighter, lighter home, but to each her own. I LOVE the black excellence she features so her children have inspiration and representation. I had no idea about her kids. She's a walking talking Meredith Grey in real life if seems. She's so down to earth and bubbly. I love it.

Umm I’m obsessed with her and her home. Literally love it, it’s a lot of stuff in the home but it’s not cluttered.. it blends together and she reminds me of my mom 😂with the chair thing by the ocean..
