Three months later, and I'm still making my way through the game lol. 70 hours in and getting close to the end finally. god I hate that guy. The whole VR system is a chore. I was hoping it would be a place or machine where you accept challenges, much like Tales Of Arise.
@@gameskyjumper1721I don’t love that you get summons through him still. The way Max was describing it, with summons almost acting like the “deities” of each region, I half expected them to have dedicated temple dungeons, with each summon acting as the boss of their respective temple.

Thank you Damiani and Don. I was very specifically waiting for this video, and am thrilled you were able to get it up so quickly for us all. Big Kudos.
Minor, I guess, but Remake also allowed you to see all of your party's materia at once. I think it was pressing R1(?) on the materia screen that brought up the multi-member materia UI. Kind of a hidden option(?), but not really, as it appeared in the legend at the bottom of the screen.
The voice acting is just amazing. Brit Barron as Tifa was an inspired choice. I remember seeing her in GLOW for the first time and thought ... huh. Almost reminds me of Tifa. And John Eric Bentley! Listening to him always brings a smile to my &$%"$& face!
9:10 Cosmo Canyon rendition sounds amazing but I can't wait to hear Great Warrior, the song that plays when you find Seto. Such a great song but only plays once in the original and you never hear it again so it frequently gets forgotten.
For anyone late to the party and on the fence about spending all this time with the game. I had to move away for months soon after the release of this game, so I only had a few weeks to complete it. I played on easy and did exactly two side missions to get affinity with one party member higher. I had a great great time with the game, but from just doing those two side quests I'm sure I would've burned out and never finished it if I had played it the normal way. If you have fond memories of the original and don't have all those hours you used to - rush through the game (it'll still take 35 hours or so) and you'll get to experience one of the best adventures released in a long time. I don't think I've felt such a great sense of adventure since my first ten hours of BOTW, but this had me hooked all the way through.
3:48 Onwards. Wonderful rendition of jenova's leitmotif, with soul touching chants damn. But i wonder when it would play ? Against jenova birth, orrr....
You could already look at everyone's materia in Remake, the improvement this time is materia sorting by type, but it doesn't make up for lack of loadouts.

One thing I hope gameplay wise is that they've fixed all the interruptions where control is taken from you. I just replayed Remake and this was a huge annoyance with the later bosses. Phase shifts, special moves etc, the camera would focus in on it to have a little cutscene for dramatic effect or make sure you knew what was going on. Some is fine and necessary ofc but it went overboard. But it's very frustrating to lose a stagger or limit break because of all these camera cuts. You work hard for the staggers and the limit breaks are really rare so the game shouldn't be so happy to take those from you so frequently. The whisper bosses was especially a bad experience in this regard. Not only do they constantly throw you around, but when you get to make a big move it's taken from you. And the camera cuts every time they get staggered or Barret shoots the large whisper, which at points was every few seconds. The game tried to have this hugely dramatic boss fights with all the cutscenes, but only had me wait for it to be over while I flipped in and out of game play. This is my main complaint about the battle system so if it's better this time around I will be very happy. I really loved Remake and I'm so stoked for Rebirth.

'multiple open environments' i hate to hear those words 😢 but i get it, jrpgs typically, almost never in fact, build their open worlds on a single map such as GTA, Just Cause, Fallout, etc
OG FF7 was never “open world” at least not until you gained access to the highwind and could fly anywhere you wanted. Up to that point you walked from town to town until you got vehicles that allowed a little bit more freedom. It’ll be the same here although the airship won’t be until part 3
Not sure I understand the question, might need a little more. What do you mean by “skipping”? I think it would be ok to assume it’s a part of the game (like the original) and not something to be skipped. I also can’t imagine why you’d want to. :) Side note, if you’re talking about the same flashback I’m thinking about, it’s like the first 2hrs of the game and was released as a demo.
(IMPLIED SPOILERS BELOW) Just finished the game. understandable, but cant they use their own gameplay footage of the first 2 chapters instead? Half the review seems to be spliced from the trailer footage @@zuzhi64
Most of the footage is from our capture, but there are tight restrictions on what we can show, before launch. So we had to use the trailers to illustrate certain specifics. -Bloodworth
FF1 was heavily inspired by DnD to the point where they used a lot of the same enemies as well. The original game and the PS release of FF 1 even used a similar magic system to DnD.
Ok I know you cant say why, yet, BUT - there is going to be a part 3? You alluded to it in this review. In the original FF7, the 3rd disc was basically the last dungeon and the weapons. So when you can answer, what do you guys think will be in part 3 that was not here. I was honestly hoping this would be a two part game. Where does this game end!?
Remake was only Midgar, the large section of Disk 1. Rebirth is the rest of Disk 1. The third game in 3-4 years (barring a big delay) will be Disk 2-3 events and may end up a crossgen title that shows nicer and smoother on the PS6. Easy examples of theorizing the next game's scope include: Cid and Vincent, several locations (Wutai, Mideel, Rocket Town, the rest of the north), airship flying, submarine driving, Weapon battles, widespread world effects of Meteor or whatever else, big team battles (more involvement of the backline party), full team control (instead of just extended sections as a party member, the world is designed to accommodate everyone or at least switching between them for traversal).
So, scoreboard for FF7 Remakes according to the allies: Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 9.0 Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion: 8.0 Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 9.5 If part 3 and any other spin offs can stick the landing, this might go so far as to eclipse the original Compilation of FF7 for these guys
Nah, it's a 10, the story is not that convoluted as you people like to make it seem, once you understand how the Lifestream works, the story is truly amazing. And the narrative is 10 too, how they made Cloud's mind is awesome, the flashbacks, the backstories. You don't want everything to be spelled, there has to be mistery if you still have to release another part, so I don't see the issue of leaving the audience pars unexplained

understandable, but cant they use their own gameplay footage of the first 2 chapters instead? Half the review seems to be spliced from the trailer footage @@zuzhi64
They should have their own captured footage of their playthrough right? @@swnick3386
Most of the footage is from our capture, but there are tight restrictions on what we can show, before launch. So we had to use the trailers to illustrate certain specifics. -Bloodworth
YOU GUYS LISTEN TO THE OSTS ?? THE ARRANGEMENTS ARE IMMACULATE
04:20 WTF? a MINDFLAYER???
There are mindflayers in a few of the Final Fantasy games. Square seems uniquely able to get away with stealing stuff from dnd 😂
It used to be a summon too lol
@@pontyfaxjr Thanks for the info! Didn't know that lol.

Where does this game end!?
as answered by the devs, Rebirth will lead up to the City of Ancients. That means for a part 3 there will still be a bunch of plot to cover
Oh wow I didn't know the devs said that.@@madhyama5016
Very well done with keeping spoilers out on this one!
So, scoreboard for FF7 Remakes according to the allies:
Final Fantasy 7 Remake: 9.0
Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion: 8.0
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 9.5
If part 3 and any other spin offs can stick the landing, this might go so far as to eclipse the original Compilation of FF7 for these guys
