this is for me the best mid tower ever built! The best full tower ever built is the haf x! When cooler master was cooler master in terms of case build quality!! My HAF X is here still in 2020
Same , been 9 years and things still performing as it should, but being from India this thing gathers a lot of dust , even with the dust filters cuz of the massive fans, other than that no regrets.
I like the way coolermaster is encouraging 200mm fan mounts. So many manufacturers seem to ignore. I'd honestly prefer a 200mm fan over two 120mm's, so much more quieter. I would have liked an additional bit more space for the top fans though, a triple-rad would really have been awesome. The little space is nice, but it's not something that may stand out as much, it's not as competitive IMO. Looks like an awesome case though, the small features really make is awesome. Great review!!
The XM comes with a 200mm fan on the top and front, however the 932 comes with a 230mm fan on the side panel, top and front. It's offers significantly better airflow with each fan pushing 110CFM, espesially good for the graphics cards.
For me it definitely wasn't a problem as in too high temperatures, but I got a better result when I flipped it around. The "hot air" is not as hot as you think it is, at least if you pull in air from the front.
Just got this case. Completely satisfied with the purchase :D Best looking HAF case imo. My only problem with it is how hard it is to move around so it's a pain in the ass to manage sometimes. But, there's plenty of space so I won't need another case for quite a long time. Unless they start making 20 foot graphics cards. lolz (please don't).
That's what I'm wondering, too. I have an h100, but stuck with an Antec 900 case. I plan on picking a new case up today, and debating between this or the 932.
Yeah I agree, the only problem with this case is the PSU dust filter. Why they decided to cheap out with just that little bit is a joke. It's such a great case, it would of taken them no work at all to make the dust filter more better than it is now. I for one would find that a massive pain in the ass taking out my PSU just to clean a bit of screen.
i really wish these case companies would stop with these low price cases, yes it brings in more people to the club but it would be nice to see an improved haf x with higher end materials and features.
You can install a fan controller in any case. Would I recommend this case? Well, really a matter of taste. If you can get past the looks (or if you like the look), they are some of the better air and water cooling cases.
For the people complaining about the psu filter, how about applying it on the bottom with a light adhesive of some type (tape, puddy, etc...)? You're welcome
I own this case, good points; it's enormous for a mid-tower, has great cable management plus loads of room for my 7 HDD's and SSD and flexible case fan arrangement (including top mounted space for H100i). On the down side it needs better dust filters as mentioned in the review, also the plastic clips for the HDD bays are somewhat fragile (2 broken already). For the price it's a better choice than the similar CM 690 II Advanced.
I bought the case itself on newegg and I bought a new door on cooler master's website that has the window. The window door was like 20-30 bucks I cant remember at the moment. I got the stock door sitting in my attic if I ever need it. I think it was worth the extra 20-30 bucks.
Love these damn good reviews. I think this will go on my list of possible future cases. Really like what Cooler Master did with the inside. I put my power supply with the fan facing upwards anyway, so that dust filter is not an issue for me. :) The only reason I wouldn't buy this in the end might come down to just the aesthetics.
Obviously the HAF X is Full Tower and HAF XM is HUGE Mid Tower. I suggest don't spend too much on a case, so HAF XM is good enough, as it has a lot of features from the HAF X.
lol are you serious? Since when did I say I hated Cooler Master? It's true, this case probably attracts a lot of dust, and with lazy dust filter options it can't be easy to clean. I own a CM Storm Enforcer right now, and I hate cleaning it, but love the case. Also, any sensible person would come along and see you're just some angry child, or a person with the mindset of an angry child. Do you honestly have nothing better to do?
I'm sorry but I have to agree with iNekoNaru, but without the foul language. The only reason it probably collects more dust, is because of the fans. And since they are including a dust filter. Its shouldn't be that hard to clean out. By all means good airflow with the fans means better performance. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion.
It´s no different with the CM series - that´s why I decided to install the psu upside down, so that the fan is on the top and I can easily access the filter - no problems or heat issues whatsoever ...
Would you recommend the Haf X or the Haf XM? I can't decide. Which of them has better cooling (when you add/replace fans) and which do you think is better?
Though the placement is really illogical, it's almost like it shouldn't be removed. Hell, even my Elite 430 has it on the outside! It's just confusing why on earth they did that. Though indeed, it is a bit nit-picking. Though that is hardwarecanucks, they don't miss the small details. At least they aren't as critical for the USB3 to USB2 adaptors anymore. :P
You can stick the power supply dust filter to the bottom of the case, exterior bottom and then remove it anytime without even opening anything.... Problem Solved.
I am not really impressed by Cooler Master's line of cases, even though I have the HAF 942, for the simple reason that it is extremely tedious when I have to clean the dust off the dust filters. I really wished that my HAF 942 had partitioned space like Corsair Obsidian series so that things can be kept much more tidier. Not to mention removable dust filters to make my life easy.
that power supply filter is so stupid. I have the HAF 912 (didn't that come out before this one?) and the filter is on the outside...how'd they mess that up?
My PSU actually blows the other way, anyhow. So the INTAKE of my PSU will be grabbing even MORE dust from this case! That is one of the drawbacks of having a low mount PSU case for me.
Best case I ever bought, still true in year 2020. It has everything.
this is for me the best mid tower ever built! The best full tower ever built is the haf x! When cooler master was cooler master in terms of case build quality!! My HAF X is here still in 2020
Same here. still rocking my HAF XM for 7 years already
Still rocking mine as well!
Same , been 9 years and things still performing as it should, but being from India this thing gathers a lot of dust , even with the dust filters cuz of the massive fans, other than that no regrets.
Best case ever still on 2023.😊
Excellent review. You answered all the questions most other reviewers overlooked. Thanks for the review.
Picked this case for my first build, will be coming tomorrow. Can't wait!

For the psu filter, just use some clear tape and stick it outside of the case.
Very nice case, which makes the used PSU dustfilter and its placement even more incomprehensible - CM Storm Trooper and Stryker showing the way here.
The XM comes with a 200mm fan on the top and front, however the 932 comes with a 230mm fan on the side panel, top and front. It's offers significantly better airflow with each fan pushing 110CFM, espesially good for the graphics cards.
These cooler master cases collects dust better than a vaccum cleaner.
Got green dust in my cooler master cm storm sniper.
Don't keep ur Kush next to the tower it will suck it all in.

I replaced a i7 4770 for a Ryzen 5600X system, but still using this case after 7 years. I saw no reason to buy another one.
I actually thought about the 500R and 650D... but the HAF XM is the best case for airflow, room and price. :D
Any PSU will fit. The little box that covers your cables will slide left or right to fit any PSU. :)
Lots of fantastic features for a medium+ tower! Great editing on the video, too.
The top looks like it will fit a triple 120mm radiator, which would be great. But dual 120mm should fit a H-100.
excellent review as always hardware canucks, I love your reviews! you guys should do more!!!
Your video made me buy this to my new computer setup, it was worth it. it was even better looking when it came from the box.
I always love these reviews, such a profession feel to them.
Awesome job as always guys, keep up the good work!
Can I ask how you record and It looks like there is nothing behind you, its very nice
Какой красавец! Пожалуй, куплю его под новый комп.
Люблю строгие или почти строгие очертания, без выкрутасов.

Thanks for such a great review, esp. including what a filled case will look like.
this this is a super case for those water coolers just remove the top fan and put it in the side panel there you go i love cooler master
Obviously the HAF X is Full Tower and HAF XM is HUGE Mid Tower. I suggest don't spend too much on a case, so HAF XM is good enough, as it has a lot of features from the HAF X.

"The chassis will also be available in a window version for those who want to show off their internals."
Pay attention.
Well, its price would be a point. Also, it is not a case for everybody as you still have to mod it for your personal preferences.
Anything will be disappointing after something like the Cosmos. It's like saying a Carolla is disappointing after the release of a Ferrari.
I honestly prefer the HAF 932 over this. Same price, less features (eg: hot-swap bays), but far, far better cooling.
Coolermaster is great but the only thing i have beef with is its size its a awkward size between a mid and full case.
Maybe he's talking about older PSUs. Those tend to use the fan as an exhaust.
lol are you serious? Since when did I say I hated Cooler Master?
It's true, this case probably attracts a lot of dust, and with lazy dust filter options it can't be easy to clean. I own a CM Storm Enforcer right now, and I hate cleaning it, but love the case.

I am getting this one but with the side window. Cant wait for it to come in the mail. :D
Back when cooler master was a cool master, not like today, where they are a hot apprentice.
i'm using the 932 as well, but you just need to get the demciflex haf 932 filters...
Yeah, you just have to cut this little tab thing on the top. Its literally like an inch tab that prevents a 360mm radiator lol
very clear but one problem for the cardreader-intern from 3.25''. Did you installed it? and when yes, How?
I'm sorry but I have to agree with iNekoNaru, but without the foul language. The only reason it probably collects more dust, is because of the fans. And since they are including a dust filter. Its shouldn't be that hard to clean out. By all means good airflow with the fans means better performance. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Why do people always get this wrong? The 120/140mm fans on Power Supplies do not exhaust. They intake.
It´s no different with the CM series - that´s why I decided to install the psu upside down, so that the fan is on the top and I can easily access the filter - no problems or heat issues whatsoever ...
Would you recommend the Haf X or the Haf XM? I can't decide. Which of them has better cooling (when you add/replace fans) and which do you think is better?
i know right? so many new awesome PC cases but i cant justify buying a new one.
Dense and easily acessable dustfilter for front and top but not bottom? What the heck were they thinking?
This is humungous for a mid tower. It's funny seeing the look on everyone's faces when they see my pc and ask "wtf, is that a computer?"
try the haf x, i believe that is one of the biggest cases.
I might get this case... Would you recommend it? And can you install a fan control in it?
The bottom cage is not removable, unless you go ahead with own modding. cheers
still using CM Storm scout which i had to cut it to install 6950 ,
i think its time to get a new coolermaster :)
magnet dustfitler form silversone? as then you can palce it on the underside theo i dunno if it gives enough space for draw in air
You can stick the power supply dust filter to the bottom of the case, exterior bottom and then remove it anytime without even opening anything....
Problem Solved.
Very nice case, but that PSU power supply filter = a major 'what the hell' moment in the history of computer cases. :-\
Great and very professional review. very nice.
I really wish I could live in the US.
It's $129 there... here in Brazil it's $276 :(
great case, very nice features for the price.
Thats not dust filter under that PSU, thats some screen against small mammals, seriously look at those huge holes. Anyway I prefer fan up anyway ^^
I will aswell when I buy the case, there is no way in hell that I am removing the PSU just to clean dust...
I am not really impressed by Cooler Master's line of cases, even though I have the HAF 942, for the simple reason that it is extremely tedious when I have to clean the dust off the dust filters. um should i get this or the had-x nvidia edition? price is not an object and i wanted ultimate air-cooling for my new pc.
they should make a smaller haf 912
My PSU actually blows the other way, anyhow. So the INTAKE of my PSU will be grabbing even MORE dust from this case! That is one of the drawbacks of having a low mount PSU case for me.
I see my next case :), I'll just have to get the window version
Excelente aporte.
CM-storm scout 2 and stryker has that
Can you please show your video setup?
god dam it. i just finally pulled the trigger on the 912 and switched over this weekend....fuck...
editing is topnotch kudos
Where am i supposed to buy this, its not on amazon and it seems like its always out of stock on newegg
which ever looks better to you :) I'd prefer corsair
I'd like to use 3,5" internal card reader, can it be used in one of those X-Dock slots?
I think i should fit as long as it is shorter than a hard drive
lookin good, i love my haf912
can i fit E-ATX motherboard like the X79-UD5 in it with the posibility of cable management?
Where did you get the version with the side panel window ?
AHH I'm at a dilemma, In Canada both the Corsair 500R and the CM HAF XM are at 129.99, which should I get?!?!
What could I put into my vertical pci slot? I can't find one thing to put in it.
Is this REALLY a problem? I mean with CM silent pro 520w face down,is it going to be a problem? I dont want to take the "hot" air from inside the pc
Between this and Carbide 500r, which is the best?
Really good review, decent case.
im reciclying budgeting this case 10 years and going...
Flip the PSU around, it doesn't really change anything. :D
Haf XM, Phantom 410 or Bitfenix Ronin?
Please give me the cons/pro's about those cases
very nice and very good review as usual
Damn, Is there any solution for this? Because i was thinking about buying it soon.
this beats the 400r and 500r which it's competing against thumbs up if you agree
my dream case
Crap case get the enthoo pro
He went fuuuuu because the reviewer addressed that as a problem.
power supply fans are very week, you don't need to clean the filter as often
I am going to get this, and I am going to radiate everything, I will radiate my radiators...
will a corsair h100 cpu cooler fit properly in this case?
can u mount a fan on the psu cable cage thing??
This one for sure.
Dam good video review. One of the best. Thanks
this case or the NZXT Phantom 410 ?
