1 Cor 8:6 is very clear: there is one God the Father; and one Lord Jesus Christ who is the Son of God; Jesus is God, because He has the same nature as the Father, but Jesus is Not the Father.

You are right. But people don't understand that the Catholic trinity is different from the Godhead of three persons in one God taught in the Bible. The difference is that Catholic's doctrine teaches Jesus is emanated from the Father, while the Bible teaches Jesus Christ is God just as the Father. Most people don't have this fact clear in their understanding.

The plain reading of scripture paints a clear picture of one Father, one devine Son, and their very Holy Spirit. The church now parallels Rome with its creedal position.
I have done some further studies on all the Adventist doctrines and the Lord has showed me that in many instances I too was wrong. God never called us to speak against any thriving Christian denomination. There are no systems of belief are so perfect in their theology to the point that it would give them authority to stand up and claim themselves to be the elite and only ones who bare truth; Adventism has been wrong for doing that., while at the same time putting down others and disclaiming their efforts and labeling them as the "beast system". Yet, we all have flawed systems of beliefs. There is a human element in every denominational grassroots beginning. All denominations started off with a baseline approach that came from one specific individuals interpretation of their enlightenment from the words they read from the Bible, or perhaps some supernatural spiritual epiphany. The Bible tells us that absolutely no interpretation or doctrine of beliefs that establish a faith should come from ONE individual person to set a standard and expectation and then dictate the path forward. That is most dangerous. There should be a cloud of witnesses to establish whether it's two or three witnesses, in order to validate a spiritual experience. Yet, most denominations started off with one specific person interpreting their own meaning and their findings and claiming that it ALL came from "Their" God and to them ALONE. This is the claim of the Adventist prophetess Ellen White, who claimed that all her endorsements came from God, she was the only one who received the interpretation for biblical instructions to give to the church and when there was a disagreement all eyes looked to Ellen to provide the clarity and the understanding from God, and these came about by and through her many visions, there was no one else to validate, confirm or establish her account of what was said to her by God, we took her word for it. That is very very concerning. This also includes the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witness; the Baptist Church, the Presbyterian, the Lutheran, Hindu's and Islam. Each denomination have their own specific originator, therefore we must take the originators and weigh their findings in the "Canon" to see if what they are saying is biblical. We must realize Ellen White is NOT in the Canon. She is to be validated and confirmed by the Canon, which is the Bible and the prophets in the Bible, they test her she does not test them. When tested by the Canon, you will find that every single religious systems of belief have numerous discrepancies that contradict the word of God. Therefore it is for us to look to Christ and be taught by His Spirit alone who leads us into all truth. John 16:8, 13. Ellen White wrote what she called "The Testimonies" and the "Spirit of Prophecy". But! how could she write the Spirit of Prophecy when it already existed? How could she write the Testimonies of Jesus, when His Testimony was already established and completed? I have studied her history and I cannot follow her dictates anymore she has been weighed in the balances and has been found wanting by the Canon. Our only foundation is Christ Jesus and not always what others tell us about him. You must know God for yourself you must hear the voice of Jesus for yourself. You must know your Bible to where you can smell the counterfeit when it comes. The human origination and imaginations of God gave interpretations of God that established every religious denomination, including Seventh-day Adventist. Notice carefully, how it is always an angel that bring these false messages which have no bearing on the true gospel. Paul says in Galatians 1:8 "Even if we are an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preach to you let him be cursed". We are not the perfect church as we were taught. It was only a "teaching" and not a true reality. Our perfection is only in Christ Jesus and his righteousness alone. Christ church is the church of Christ, whom every person in every denomination, nation, kindred and tongue must come to know and accept HIM as their personal Savior. We must be called out into the ecclesia and not into any religious name or denomination. The called out ones are free to join any denomination they choose to because they are grounded in Christ Jesus and bear HIS witness to all peoples nations, kindred, and tongue and at all times. Christ Spirit calls us to speak and uplift his righteousness He calls us to love all people in various systems of beliefs and religious groups; Muslims, Hindus Presbyterians Catholics, baptist, etc., etc. His Spirit calls us to GO! into ALL the world and preach and teach the true gospel of Jesus Christ. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love power and a sound mind. He gave us the gospel of Christ Jesus ALONE; he gave us the spirit of Christ, he sent his only son Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. He is the last and final voice of prophecy, he bears his own testimony to the world, that is so beautiful and when we lift up Christ, we will draw all men through the power of love which unifies the world into "Christ Church". Jesus told us that he is the Son of God. A Son is not as old as the father Jesus came forth from the Father , just like Eve came forth from Adam If both the Father and the Son were without beginning, God did not have Son,and we present a false gospel.

God the Father calls His Son "God" in Hebrews 1:8-9, where Paul quoted from Psalm 45:6-7. So who are you going to believe? @earlysda I am non-trinitarian as Jesus was, Ellen & James White and all the Pioneers were. I do not denigrate Jesus. He has been made equal to His Father. He is my God and I worship Him to the honor and glory of the Father. Jesus is God by inheritance. But, He is not His Father's God. Jesus declares His Father as the one true God in John 17:3. The following quote from Sister White makes the issue very plain. "Satan in Heaven, before his rebellion, was a high and exalted angel, next in honor to God's dear Son. [There is no 3rd being God the Holy Spirit; the 3rd in rank in heaven was Lucifer and now its Gabrielle] His countenance, like those of the other angels, was mild and expressive of happiness. His forehead was high and broad, showing a powerful intellect. His form was perfect; his bearing noble and majestic. It says something about our sda church why we are excepted in ecumenical council of churches is that we all worship the same trinity God. End time test is about who you worship and when the trinity God or the ONLY true God. It is becoming more clear as they are setting the one world religion.
If Jesus was born converted, He couldn't have been tempted. He would not be our example if He was born converted. He took the Nature of Abraham Hebrews 2:16kjv. Jesus was born with the propensity to sin or the Ability to sin but He withstood all temptations and overcame by relying on His Father and He won the victory for us! Jesus was born with the ability to sin but HE DID NOT SIN. We can overcome as He overcame if we rely on Him.

That book his robe or mine is what converted my mom when she was about 85. She went to church her whole life. But was never converted until she read that book and attended a bible study that I had just started on the three angels messages.

At 46.45 Pastor David Gates is wondering what is wrong with "A unity of three coeternal persons"? That means three gods [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit], then calling them a unity is philosophy. Three does not equal one God, no matter how many times it is repeated). The Father revealed to Peter who Jesus was, (the Son of God), and Jesus commended him Matthew 16:14-18. The Father didn't reveal a godhead, or philosophy of "three is one." I stick to what the Father revealed and Jesus affirmed. Now what about "another Comforter" in John 14 to 16 (the paracletos)? Well John tells us the name of the paracletos in 1 John 2:1. (It is best you find out who the Comforter (aka advocate or paracletos) is by reading it in your own Bible.
At 58:50, did Pastor Gates change his mind? He just stated he believes in a godhead, but then goes back to using "God?" Hmmm???? Then at 59 mins, he seems to imply that Jesus took a position (the Son). The theologians say that the Son of God is a metaphor, a role, but 1 John 2:22-24 calls this teaching "antichrist." At 1:00:50 "silence is golden." That should be applied to "the three are one" philosophy.
Gates continues to say His Son... Yet doesn't believe in true sonship of Christ but rather in the metaphoric sonship. This whole idea casts in mud love of GOD.
I believe David Gates is being honest to his own convictions and I have much respect for him to tackle this issue for a man in his position and being open to the public about it. Yes I believe The Father somehow begat a Son, that is the text in the scripture, meaning the Son somehow came forth from the Father. And yes that means the Father came before the Son. If the Father does not have a Son I think that ruins the gospel. You can say the Son is God by What he is - Divine but you can't say the Son is God by his beginning position, he did not have the authority of his Father until his Father gave it to him. That is why Jesus calls his Father the only True God. If you ask if a spirit is a separate person from ourselves they will say no, the spirit is inside us and makes us who we are. We are created in the image of God. God has a spirit like ourselves and that spirit can work with us. That is how God is omnipresent. God sends his spirit through his Son to ourselves.

Why not believing what the Bible says? 1 Cor 8:6" But for us there is but one God, the Father, OF whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, BY whom are all things, and we by Him". There is only one true God, and that is the Father. Jesus can not be that one and only God when the Father alone is the only God. Jesus is the only begotten (born) Son of God, and as such has inherited His Fatheres substance. The Father GAVE Him power (Mattew 28:18). It means that He did not have this power before God the Father gave Him this power. About the Holy Spirit we can read in John 14:16 that Jesus said that God would give us ANOTHER (allos) Comforter. It is very important to notice that John used the word allos and not heteros. Allos means another og the SAME KIND. God would send JESUS in another form, that is spiritual form. That is why Jesus in John 14:18 says "I will not leave you COMFORTLESS: I will come to you". Most adventist skip this verse because it does not fit their narrative. They want to believe that God would send a totally different person besides Jesus. The word allos disprove that. When SOP wrote about the heavenly trio, she corrected persons to personalities in the manuscript, but her correction has not been respected in her books. Personalities does not mean that they are tree persons, but that they are three equal personalities in that they have the same mind. The Holy Spirit must have the same mind as The Father and the Son because the Spirit IS their very mind/influence.

Christ was born born again. He entered our humanity with the fallen nature that we all have but began at the point where we all begin when we are converted. He like us had to learn obedience by the things He suffered. If Christ did not come in our fallen nature Satan would have won the controversy. He would have shown that the law could not be kept regardless of the nature. And more importantly he would have proven that God was not a God of love, that He was selfish and unwilling to take a risk in having Christ take our fallen nature. The fact that Christ indeed took our fallen and bad behaving nature and caused it to be obedient by surrendering His will to the Father is the death knell in Satan’s argument. If sinful fallen flesh could render obedience to the law then there was no reason for sin. This point also shows that we do not sin because of our nature. We sin because we choose to do so.

Hello, Jesus say there are two paths. One path is easy and wide with many people on it. The other is hard and narrow with few that find it. Jesus also says, Let a man deny himself, pick up his cross, and follow Me if he wants to be My disciple. Which one of Crises have their roots firmly planted in which path? Which crisis has the two parts of cross bearing? Where does Jesus say any crisis has Jesus as His support? I have not found any.

The Bible does not teach a "Godhead", where is the scripture for such an assumption? The Father is the God Head. 1 Cor 11:3, 1 Cor 8:6. Joh 17:3. We are born in sin but not born sinners. I disagree with many on this. If Christ wasn't born like iam, how can He be a savior to me born like iam, how can He be my high priest yet not like I. Am confused about this

Adam had no predisposition to sin; the only environment around or inflence was Eve... no other nurturing, nothing else to try and coax him... yet, he fell. Jesus, norn like Adam before he sinned, had a mother who was born into sin. He was raised by she and his stepfather, who both had the nature to sin. Jesus had siblings, that had a leaning toward sin... The environment, all around was sinful... yet, Jesus NEVER sinned. He could have fallen into sin with such influences all around...but, never sinned. Not a perfect explanation, but one thing I know, Jesus was not born a sinner and neither are we. We are born into sin and shapen in iniquity (nature and nurture).

Ps Gates you should really study Isaiah 43:10 where the Son of God Himself declares, I quote, "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." And in Revelation 3:12 we read, I quote, "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name." Here we clearly see that the Son of God speaks, (Revelation 2:18), and calls God, the Father, "my God" for times. so, how can the Son of God be co-eternal with the Father when He has a beginning? It does not make sense! or does it? Also, the Scriptures tell us that the Holy Spirit is the the Spirit of God and of the Son, so how can it be the third divine being when it is not? And John said, "... He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22) Two divine beings, and not three. The trinity, therefore, entirely destroys the Father and Son relationship. How sad! No wonder why Jesus said, I quote, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1) "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3) Again, two divine beings, and not three. Sda church teachers the trinity doctrine, which means that Jesus is not literal son of God. He is just a role player. They claim that also the third person is literal person. Looks like we have two spirits amongst us. The sprit OF GOD and also Holy Spirit. Which is the third person of the God head. Very confusing teaching. You are right. But people don't understand that the Catholic trinity is different from the Godhead of three persons in one God taught in the Bible. The difference is that Catholic's doctrine teaches Jesus is emanated from the Father, while the Bible teaches Jesus Christ is God just as the Father. Most people don't have this fact clear in their understanding.

What a beautiful hope , to go this way,
The plain reading of scripture paints a clear picture of one Father, one devine Son, and their very Holy Spirit. The church now parallels Rome with its creedal position.

I have done some further studies on all the Adventist doctrines and the Lord has showed me that in many instances I too was wrong. God never called us to speak against any thriving Christian denomination. There are no systems of belief are so perfect in their theology to the point that it would give them authority to stand up and claim themselves to be the elite and only ones who bare truth; Adventism has been wrong for doing that., while at the same time putting down others and disclaiming their efforts and labeling them as the "beast system". Yet, we all have flawed systems of beliefs. There is a human element in every denominational grassroots beginning. All denominations started off with a baseline approach that came from one specific individuals interpretation of their enlightenment from the words they read from the Bible, or perhaps some supernatural spiritual epiphany.
The Bible tells us that absolutely no interpretation or doctrine of beliefs that establish a faith should come from ONE individual person to set a standard and expectation and then dictate the path forward.
That is most dangerous. There should be a cloud of witnesses to establish whether it's two or three witnesses, in order to validate a spiritual experience. Yet, most denominations started off with one specific person interpreting their own meaning and their findings and claiming that it ALL came from "Their" God and to them ALONE. This is the claim of the Adventist prophetess Ellen White, who claimed that all her endorsements came from God, she was the only one who received the interpretation for biblical instructions to give to the church and when there was a disagreement all eyes looked to Ellen to provide the clarity and the understanding from God, and these came about by and through her many visions, there was no one else to validate, confirm or establish her account of what was said to her by God, we took her word for it. That is very very concerning.
This also includes the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witness; the Baptist Church, the Presbyterian, the Lutheran, Hindu's and Islam. Each denomination have their own specific originator, therefore we must take the originators and weigh their findings in the "Canon" to see if what they are saying is biblical. We must realize Ellen White is NOT in the Canon. She is to be validated and confirmed by the Canon, which is the Bible and the prophets in the Bible, they test her she does not test them.
When tested by the Canon, you will find that every single religious systems of belief have numerous discrepancies that contradict the word of God. Therefore it is for us to look to Christ and be taught by His Spirit alone who leads us into all truth. John 16:8, 13.
Ellen White wrote what she called "The Testimonies" and the "Spirit of Prophecy". But! how could she write the Spirit of Prophecy when it already existed? How could she write the Testimonies of Jesus, when His Testimony was already established and completed? I have studied her history and I cannot follow her dictates anymore she has been weighed in the balances and has been found wanting by the Canon.
Our only foundation is Christ Jesus and not always what others tell us about him. You must know God for yourself you must hear the voice of Jesus for yourself. You must know your Bible to where you can smell the counterfeit when it comes.
The human origination and imaginations of God gave interpretations of God that established every religious denomination, including Seventh-day Adventist. Notice carefully, how it is always an angel that bring these false messages which have no bearing on the true gospel. Paul says in Galatians 1:8 "Even if we are an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preach to you let him be cursed". We are not the perfect church as we were taught. It was only a "teaching" and not a true reality. Our perfection is only in Christ Jesus and his righteousness alone. Christ church is the church of Christ, whom every person in every denomination, nation, kindred and tongue must come to know and accept HIM as their personal Savior. We must be called out into the ecclesia and not into any religious name or denomination. The called out ones are free to join any denomination they choose to because they are grounded in Christ Jesus and bear HIS witness to all peoples nations, kindred, and tongue and at all times.
Christ Spirit calls us to speak and uplift his righteousness He calls us to love all people in various systems of beliefs and religious groups; Muslims, Hindus Presbyterians Catholics, baptist, etc., etc. His Spirit calls us to GO! into ALL the world and preach and teach the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love power and a sound mind. He gave us the gospel of Christ Jesus ALONE; he gave us the spirit of Christ, he sent his only son Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. He is the last and final voice of prophecy, he bears his own testimony to the world, that is so beautiful and when we lift up Christ, we will draw all men through the power of love which unifies the world into "Christ Church". I am non-trinitarian as Jesus was, Ellen & James White and all the Pioneers were. I do not denigrate Jesus. He has been made equal to His Father. He is my God and I worship Him to the honor and glory of the Father. Jesus is God by inheritance. But, He is not His Father's God.
Jesus declares His Father as the one true God in John 17:3.
The following quote from Sister White makes the issue very plain.
"Satan in Heaven, before his rebellion, was a high and exalted angel, next in honor to God's dear Son. [There is no 3rd being God the Holy Spirit; the 3rd in rank in heaven was Lucifer and now its Gabrielle] His countenance, like those of the other angels, was mild and expressive of happiness. His forehead was high and broad, showing a powerful intellect. His form was perfect; his bearing noble and majestic. A special light beamed in his countenance, and shone around him brighter and more beautiful than around the other angels; yet Jesus, God's dear Son, had the pre-eminence over all the angelic host. That book his robe or mine is what converted my mom when she was about 85. She went to church her whole life.
But was never converted until she read that book and attended a bible study that I had just started on the three angels messages.

The term godhead has no number attached to it. The meaning is divinity or devine nature. Using it to mean trinity is a very catholic thing to do.
At 46.45 Pastor David Gates is wondering what is wrong with "A unity of three coeternal persons"? That means three gods [God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit], then calling them a unity is philosophy. Three does not equal one God, no matter how many times it is repeated).
The Father revealed to Peter who Jesus was, (the Son of God), and Jesus commended him Matthew 16:14-18.
The Father didn't reveal a godhead, or philosophy of "three is one."
I stick to what the Father revealed and Jesus affirmed.
Now what about "another Comforter" in John 14 to 16 (the paracletos)? Well John tells us the name of the paracletos in 1 John 2:1. (It is best you find out who the Comforter (aka advocate or paracletos) is by reading it in your own Bible.

Yes I believe The Father somehow begat a Son, that is the text in the scripture, meaning the Son somehow came forth from the Father.
And yes that means the Father came before the Son.
If the Father does not have a Son I think that ruins the gospel.
You can say the Son is God by What he is - Divine but you can't say the Son is God by his beginning position, he did not have the authority of his Father until his Father gave it to him.
That is why Jesus calls his Father the only True God.
If you ask if a spirit is a separate person from ourselves they will say no, the spirit is inside us and makes us who we are.
We are created in the image of God.

That is how God is omnipresent.

Why not believing what the Bible says? 1 Cor 8:6" But for us there is but one God, the Father, OF whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, BY whom are all things, and we by Him".
There is only one true God, and that is the Father. Jesus can not be that one and only God when the Father alone is the only God. Jesus is the only begotten (born) Son of God, and as such has inherited His Fatheres substance. The Father GAVE Him power (Mattew 28:18). It means that He did not have this power before God the Father gave Him this power.
About the Holy Spirit we can read in John 14:16 that Jesus said that God would give us ANOTHER (allos) Comforter. It is very important to notice that John used the word allos and not heteros. Allos means another og the SAME KIND. God would send JESUS in another form, that is spiritual form. That is why Jesus in John 14:18 says "I will not leave you COMFORTLESS: I will come to you". Most adventist skip this verse because it does not fit their narrative. They want to believe that God would send a totally different person besides Jesus. The word allos disprove that.
When SOP wrote about the heavenly trio, she corrected persons to personalities in the manuscript, but her correction has not been respected in her books. Personalities does not mean that they are tree persons, but that they are three equal personalities in that they have the same mind. The Holy Spirit must have the same mind as The Father and the Son because the Spirit IS their very mind/influence.

Christ was born born again. He entered our humanity with the fallen nature that we all have but began at the point where we all begin when we are converted. He like us had to learn obedience by the things He suffered.
If Christ did not come in our fallen nature Satan would have won the controversy. He would have shown that the law could not be kept regardless of the nature. And more importantly he would have proven that God was not a God of love, that He was selfish and unwilling to take a risk in having Christ take our fallen nature. The fact that Christ indeed took our fallen and bad behaving nature and caused it to be obedient by surrendering His will to the Father is the death knell in Satan’s argument. If sinful fallen flesh could render obedience to the law then there was no reason for sin. This point also shows that we do not sin because of our nature. We sin because we choose to do so.

Jesus say there are two paths. One path is easy and wide with many people on it. The other is hard and narrow with few that find it. Jesus also says, Let a man deny himself, pick up his cross, and follow Me if he wants to be My disciple. Which one of Crises have their roots firmly planted in which path? Which crisis has the two parts of cross bearing? Where does Jesus say any crisis has Jesus as His support? I have not found any.

The quote is written by Arthur White, Ellen's grandson, not Froom. Arthur White was well aware that his grandparents and all the early pioneers were non-trinitarian.
Jesus through His messenger Sister White admonishes us to read the early pioneers.

Sister White herself under inspiration tells us plainly who the Holy Spirit is.

I’ve being following Pr Gates for so many years and I believe he is a man of God but sadly I don’t agree with his position on this subject. Everything is clear in the Bible and nature God give us plenty of evidence to understand we tend to complicate things, the Bible says Father and Son which both are Holy Spirit. The Bible does not teach a "Godhead", where is the scripture for such an assumption? The Father is the God Head. 1 Cor 11:3, 1 Cor 8:6. Joh 17:3. The Father is all the FULLNESS of divinity (translated as "godhead") bodily. The Son MANIFESTED the Father. The Spirit is IN all the FULLNESS, the Father.

We are born in sin but not born sinners. I disagree with many on this. If Christ wasn't born like iam, how can He be a savior to me born like iam, how can He be my high priest yet not like I. Am confused about this

Adam had no predisposition to sin; the only environment around or inflence was Eve... no other nurturing, nothing else to try and coax him... yet, he fell.
Jesus, norn like Adam before he sinned, had a mother who was born into sin. He was raised by she and his stepfather, who both had the nature to sin. Jesus had siblings, that had a leaning toward sin... The environment, all around was sinful... yet, Jesus NEVER sinned.
He could have fallen into sin with such influences all around...but, never sinned.
Not a perfect explanation, but one thing I know, Jesus was not born a sinner and neither are we.

Ps Gates you should really study Isaiah 43:10 where the Son of God Himself declares, I quote,
"Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me."
And in Revelation 3:12 we read, I quote,
"Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name."
Here we clearly see that the Son of God speaks, (Revelation 2:18), and calls God, the Father, "my God" for times. so, how can the Son of God be co-eternal with the Father when He has a beginning? It does not make sense! or does it?
Also, the Scriptures tell us that the Holy Spirit is the the Spirit of God and of the Son, so how can it be the third divine being when it is not? And John said, "... He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22) Two divine beings, and not three. The trinity, therefore, entirely destroys the Father and Son relationship. How sad!
No wonder why Jesus said, I quote,
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me." (John 14:1)
