  • In this Seventh-day Adventist ( SDA ) sermon presented by HopeLives365, Pastor Mark Finley preaches a sermon titled, Guarding Your Thoughts.
"It is a law of the mind that it gradually adapts itself to the subjects upon which it is trained to dwell. If occupied with commonplace matters only, it will become dwarfed and enfeebled. If never required to grapple with difficult problems, it will after a time almost lose the power of growth. As an educating power the Bible is without a rival. Patriarchs and Prophets page 58. ”It is a law of the mind that it will narrow or expand to the dimensions of the things with which it becomes familiar. The mental powers will surely become contracted and will lose their ability to grasp the deep meanings of the Word of God unless they are put vigorously and persistently to the task of searching for truth."
    Pastor Mark Finley

As an adventist psychologist I find this sermon so rich in truth, so beautifully explained, so practical and meaningful to our lives today. True Psychology is based in the Bible, and in the writings of Ellen G. White which are obviously aligned with God’s Word. Thank you and God bless you Pastor Finley!

Amazing Facts about the Sabbath and other stumper questions!
      1. If every man from Adam to Moses kept the Sabbath, why is the Hebrew word for the weekly Sabbath found in the ten commandments, never found in the book of Genesis? Why is no one before Moses ever being told to keep the Sabbath. Why are there no examples of anyone keeping the Sabbath?
      2. Why were the Patriarchs never instructed about he Sabbath, but were instructed regarding: offerings: Gen 4:3-4, Altars Gen 8:20, Priests: Gen 14:18, Tithes: Gen 14:20, Circumcision: Gen 17:10, Marriage: Gen 2:24 & Gen 34:9. Why would God leave out the "all important" Sabbath command?
      3. If the fact that God wrote the 10 commandments on stone proves they are forever, then whatever happened to the two stone tablets that God gave Adam at the beginning of time? Why is Moses the first one to see a stone tablet written by the finger of God?
      4. Why is the weekly Sabbath commandment never quoted in the New Testament?
      5. Why is the Sabbath the only one of the ten commandments that are said to be "throughout your generations", the usual phrase that indicates it was a temporary ceremonial law only for the Jews?
      6. Why is there no example of exclusively Christians coming together on the Sabbath day as a church or prayer meeting after the resurrection of Christ?
      7. Why is there no command in the New Testament for Christians to keep the Sabbath holy?
      8. While Paul taught in the synagogues up to 84 times, why does the Bible never say he kept the sabbath?
      9. If Paul's action of preaching to non-believers 84 times in the book of Acts on the Sabbath make him a Sabbath keeper, is a Seventh-day Adventist pastor a Sunday keeper if we invite him for 84 Sundays in a row to teach us about God's word?
      10. How could Adam, Noah and Abraham keep the Sabbath, when Deuteronomy 5:2-4 says that the 10 commandment covenant (see was "not made with any of the fathers of Israel who lived before Moses."
      11. If the Sabbath was intended for all people, both Jew and Gentile, then why does Exodus 31:16-17 state that the Sabbath was a sign between God and the "Children of Israel" instead of clarifying that it should be kept by all people of all nations for all time?
      12. Why is the Sabbath never mentioned in the Book of Job? The title character of this book is said to be the most righteous and religious man that ever lived (next to Jesus), but with that being the case, how come his story is completely void of any reference to the Sabbath or any other law/restriction given by Moses?
      13. If breaking the Sabbath was punishable by death in the Old Testament (Exodus 31:14 & 35:2), why is it not condemned in any way, shape, or form in the New Testament? Various passages in the New Testament list numerous types of sinners who will not inherit the kingdom (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, 1 Timothy 1:9-10, and Revelation 21:8 & 22:15), but none of those lists ever mention Sabbath-breakers. Why is that?

The Accuser works diligently to revisit on us the guilt of character defects that already have been looked at and forgiven. Personal persecution? Isn't this why God strongly says our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west; when we admit our errors. Alcoholics Anonymous also has something to say on this matter. God sent me to get the basics of Vipassana Meditation, when I was on the edge of madness.

Everyone should screen what is going into their eyes and ears,,, they are the avenue's to your soul,,,,, when a SDA pastor is pushing Saturday as the Sabbath,,, ask him,, where in the bible is the word Saturday and where does it say it's God's reckoning of time,,,,,he can not show you either, because the scriptures do not say Saturday is the Sabbath,,it says that the seventh day of God's reckoning of time is the Sabbath day,,, you see, the Bible is written in God's reckoning of time,, not by man's calendar,,, it's impossible to find God's chosen day by the calendar,,, What is the calendar,,, it's a GRAVEN image of false gods that you are worshipping,,, Isaiah 1:10-15,, tells us that God hates our new moon day and Sabbaths and feast days and solemn assembly,,,,if He doesn't like the days we are thinking are His,,then were doing something wrong,,,,, from Genesis to Revelation every prophet was godly men, keeping the commandments of God and the Sabbath by God's reckoning of time,,, they had no calendar, so how did they find the Sabbath,,, David wrote,in Psalms 104:19,,,,,, He appointed the moon for seasons, the sun knoweth his going down,,,,,, if that's all the sun knows then there is no such thing as a solar year, it's the imagination of a wicked man's desire to rule over God's people,,,, the moon being APPOINTED over the seasons means,it holds the reckoning of time,, God's way,,, when did this begin,,, two days before Man was created, and the Sabbaths institution was the day after Adam was made,, this means that the Sabbath was made for all of mankind,,,,, what the study of the moon will show you is written in Isaiah 66 vs 23,,,, a28day month, with one day in between each month called the new moon day that pushes His Sabbath day forward by one day every month,,,,, the day of this comment is what you know as June 9th,2023,,, it's almost evening time,,,,, and the beginning of His Sabbath day,, and it's not Saturday,,, remember to keep God's Sabbath days not the same as the calendar your mind was programmed to believe in,,, by who,,, second Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 4,, in whom the god of the world,, only one man call's himself God and that's the pope that thousands of people watched on TH-cam praying to Lucifer the devil,,, he's the author of the calendar that controls everything about your life,,, be blessed.

This is blessed sermon for me. If we take it in spiritual angle it does makes sense. Sooner or later what we think it come out in an action and if we physically do action it will come in our thought these are the true and practical. If watch movies or listening worldly music and after that if we sat down for pray we can't because things that we listen and see it keep come in our mind. God may bless many souls through this message. God bless you all

Wow... Such a message from God. This is exactly what i've being lead to. This is truth. Im thankful God uses men to reach as when its needed. I've been getting victory doing these things, overcoming negativity. I've been brought out of darkness by these very principles. I kept accepting deceiving thoughts about bad things that has happened to me and things people have done to me. Replacing bad thoughts with bible principles have brought me out of darkness. One sabbath i sat in back of someone that had deeply hurt me, i struggled with every thought popping into my head about this person. Looking around and each time i saw a person that had done anything hurtful to me, I kept crying out to God. i looked up and i started to repeat bible principles about opposite of the negative thoughts next thing I remember something shifted. I some how saw the light, I was being brought out of darkness and hatred. And something lifted. God's word creates life and it literly did in me. Praise the Almighty through his Son Jesus Christ my personal savior that died on the cross making this possible. Oh how i love them both

That is exactly why my parents and I left a metaphysical cult that was trying to pass as a church using Keith bible and Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ. We had contemplative meditation but before starting one Sunday morning, we were told to “empty your minds!” . My mom wasn’t having that and we left never to come back praise God!
