This pastor is one of few truthful ones remaining in our church, he's been able to navigate sensitive issues that affects societies and our church. I listened to this sermon carefully and found out that the sermon is well balanced. God bless you abundantly pastor Ron

Pastor, with all my due respect, the title of your sermon is confusing and sounds gaslithing. First, you failed to quote bible verses that validate your choice of the title. You might not realize that you left doors for your good philosophy to be misinterpreted by either groups. Secondly, Pastor, Romans 1: 21-27 is too clear. The true cause of this type of sin is idolatry. The bible is clear on how to deal with idolatry and its fruits within ourselves 1 Corinth 5: 11-13. I understanding you want to preach love and understanding, but your approach can bring forth dangerous fallacies especially to your youth. The devil has been very good at that... . There re so many reason why God ask us to be strict in that particular matter. It is devious, contagious, subtle, but dangerously defiling and difficult to be eradicated once you start contemplating compromise. Please Pastor, present the bible instead of your own reasoning. Be straight to the point

Only by the Word of God: ". . . if they speak not according to this thing, there is no light in them." Be like the Bereans is my plea. Seek for yourself. No pastor, however lofty he may be, should be your guide. There is only ONE moral compass.

Loma Linda, Andrews, Hawaii GC president promoting tours of Love Reality, the g.c. leaders and admin and "pastors"... embracing ecumenism LITERALLY holding hands with the beast IN ROME and lgbtq XYZ lifestyles hosting pride month, actively gay and trans pastors and, canceling members and 0h too much more!!! Too many abominations to mention!!! Praying !!! I think you miss understand. The only person you need to worry about is God....... not your family. Not your church. If you don't read the bible. And take every word for what is.... how do you know what Gods word is?????? Being Gay is a sin. But if i look at my life and i am selfish, prideful, arrogant, love myself more than others. That is just as bad. Do we put Gods word first? Do we care? Do we even ask what Gods will is? Because obedience is the test for heaven, not do as i wish and God will save me even if i transgress all the laws. We can only change by asking the holy spirit to change our life.
Ron Kellys sermon was Spot on.

@Sabby899-qp1dw wrong, we don't ask the Holy Spirit to change us, we ask God and Jesus to SEND the Holy Spirit to us so that we may know the word, and will of God and will allow GOD to change us through his Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not to be asked anything lest we be worshipping it. We are only to worship the Father and the Son. Paul in all his letter nowhere in the beginnings or endings of his letters to the churches from Roman's to Hebrews, nor James or any other apostle, give thanks and praise to anyone but the Father and the Son. Not the holy spirit. We are to ask the Father and the Son for their Holy Spirit. The Trinity is not biblical.

*Improper title for a sermon.* - *I certainly would not use such a title for a sermon such as "Good Reasons TO Be Gay"* - *Why?* - *Because there is no good reason to be gay.* - *[Read 2 Peter 2:6-8; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:25-32 et al]*

"Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous will be condemned." Psalms 34:21 NASB
"Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness." 1 John 3:6 NASB1995
"Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God." Romans 6:12-13 NLT
"Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?" Romans 6:16 NASB

Dear Pastor Kelly...from a South Australian viewer...I have greatly appreciated your messages for a long time now, but I would love to hear more Spirit of Prophesy support during your sermons. I do understand the point of your message, but Inspiration reminds us, “Sin is an intruder, for whose presence no reason can be given. It is mysterious, unaccountable; to excuse it is to defend it. Could excuse for it be found, or cause be shown for its existence, it would cease to be sin.”
So then, I understand this statement to be true...there are NO good reasons for being gay...NONE whatsoever.

At no point did he excuse the sin. He defined it. He explained its root causes. He gave real life examples of people who got victory - testimonies. And finally he gave a solution: there's power in the blood of Jesus.

I accept that we should treat our fellowman with love whoever they are as Jesus did without prejudice but he didn't say that they had a reason to be who they were. We all have to deal with temptation and sin . For axample if a person is tempted to steal and he stole and then said he stole because of what he's been through rejection etc. The courts would not accept that argument. Neither Jesus that's why he told the woman that was in adultery to go and sin no more.

The court at times grant leniency based of the fact that it's the person's first conviction. you state that Jesus also "would not accept the argument" but you also state that "He told the woman that was in adultery to go and sin no more". In your comment not only did Jesus grant her leniency, she also got off "go and sin no more"

Kelly asks: “Could we actually accept someone on the journey away from sin?” If I understood Kelly correctly, does this mean we should baptize homosexuals who claim they are on a “journey away from this sin”? If so, should we then also baptize a man with multiple wives who says he is on a “journey” away from polygamy? What about an alcoholic who says, “I am on a journey away from drinking”? Or a thief who says, “I am on a journey away from stealing”?
If this is indeed Kelly’s message, then such a human theory of inclusion would lead to the downfall of the SDA Church.
However, I am not entirely sure I understood the message correctly. I must admit that I find it challenging to follow sermons that are unclear and lack direct, precise formulations, leaving them open to multiple interpretations.
Is it only me who’s not able to interpret Kelly correctly?

Pastor Kelly has never been afraid to call sin by its right name. The process of baptism is intended to be an evaluation of someone's status and relationship with God. Call it God's theory of inclusion, not that of man. If someone is afflicted with any kind of sin, they must repent and show signs of transformation in their life before they can be baptized into the church.

@@villagemediaministry. Does this mean that if I am asked in the babtism wows if I abstain from unclean meats and alcohol, I can just answer: “I am on my journey away from it”?

@@villagemediaministry. To me, it seems that Kelly is employing “common fire” by playing with words in his title, provoking us to explore his perspective. This approach, however, is not befitting of any godly man or woman.
Furthermore, I find it deeply troubling that it is so difficult for you (Village Church) to provide a clear biblical answer about conversion from sin, using the same kind of language the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy use on this specific sin. Kelly appeared to insinuate that employing biblical language could be perceived as unkind or “not inclusive.”
Honestly, I am not a fan of the term “inclusive.” It strikes me as leftist rhetoric, and here in Denmark, it is used constantly in the media by the political left. Now, it seems to have become a loophole for welcoming unconverted sinners into our churches. Unfortunately, that is precisely what I see happening everywhere.

There are more examples in the Word.

We are now seeing the writing on the wall. With regards to this message... I love every one of my brothers and sisters regardless of their life choices. Now, I will not accept nor agree to their choices but also, I will not accept listening to an SDA pastor that says he preaches present truth and is trying to tell his congregation that eventhough its a sin but that we need to be more understanding. @JulietteSasek if agree that we need to be loving and compassionate, you are 100% correct. My issue is with pastor Kelly preaching this type of message in our churches. You and I, as faithful women of Christ, know that we need to be loving and compassionate. So when I come to church, especially in today's time, I want to hear a present Bible truth filled message. I disagree with this man on the sin of homosexuality or any sin not being a choice, I say that only because. the Bible says this, "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." All temptation according to this is not "uncommon" meaning the pull of the temptation is the same for all mankind and all temptations including Homosexuality. If "we resist" God is FAITHFUL and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. Meaning if you give in it is because you CHOOSE to and you CHOOSE not to resist. We are saved FROM sin no IN our SINS.
Sorry Pastor Kelly you can work to gain sympathy for sinner but that doesn't reconcile them with God. Why do we feel sorry for the gays but not the adulterers or the thief? Isn't a thief born a thief? The thief doesn't have a choice either according to your logic or there is a differentiation within the realm of sin that frankly I can't find anywhere in the Bible except the sin of blaspheming of the Holy Spirit.
It must be said we are infiltrate by the enemy and the false doctrine is coming out of the wood work. EVEN THE VERY ELECT WILL BE DECEIVED IF IT WERE POSSIBLE.
Sister white said we would be infiltrated by these learned smooth taking men and quite frankly those Jesuits are like mice they can get into the tiny spaces and find their way in. Beware the wolf in sheep's clothing. By their fruits ye shall know them.

I only know my own struggles and how hard they are, however, my struggles are accepted in Church or at least not really condemned. How confusing it must be also, to be told by some churches that being gay is not a sin and yet you feel that different conviction tug at your heart? Even the devil cannot beat this unrivaled mixture of truth with error.
You cannot excuse sin, to give reasons for sin is to excuse it and then it ceases to be sin - Pr. Ron Kelly, you know better. You can preach the good parts of this message without excusing sin... it was not a mistake, it was deliberate and you will give account.

@@JulietteSasek The man is double tongued this means that he expresses two opposing sentiments in the same breath. Go to minute marker 21:18 where he said, "Whether I was born with a proclivity or whether I was nurtured through the dysfunction of our age and my home the truth of the matter is, is that God gives us the power..." and then he switches his position from the point where he said "now!" and then he said, "To someone that suggests that same sex attraction is a choice, my deepest sympathies go out to you" and then again he said, "No one wakes up and says, "hum I want to have same sex attraction".
By the way by saying "Whether I was born with a proclivity... " he is already excusing the sin because we are all born with fallen natures.

I’m confused. Where does the Bible affirm a good reason to be homosexual?
Does he know truth from error or has NPR so influenced him that he feels compelled to share this kind of message?
He’s just articulate and intelligent enough to confuse most and then turn around and say there are good reasons for this lifestyle?!

The title is referring to what a gay person believes are good reasons to be gay. Pastor Kelly is showing them a better way than each of those reasons. He isn't advocating that being gay is good, not at all.

This sermon is truly misleading (muddled) as is the title. Trying to use play-on words sounds pretty much like: James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Salvation is Serious this sermon was tripe. Stop making excuses for sin and get on with righteousness by faith as it is in Jesus! “Cry aloud and spare not!”
