thanks for the video, it's working, before it started working for me I had some problems after using 'blend', it was solved once i applied different colors to both objects
Whenever i blend it just looks like a big color circle cant get the 3d effect and sperate text lines like you have even reduced the specified steps nothing is helping what should I do

I solved this by putting the circle pieces layers before the words layers on layer panel, because for some reason the "send to back" didn't work. Maybe that will help you. (or anyone reading)
Am I the only that thinks this is missing something. Its not working you ungroup but them move as a group ? Why just not create each word separate. Gotta give you thumbs down... thanks.

i have also run into the same issue, were you able to figure it out?
Select both the text and the outline of the circle make sure you have sent the text to back otherwise it wont work
Use shift click to toggle select

You need to make sure the circle is set to no fill on the right side and you will still be able to see the text
