Cool. I think I'm gonna do this. Seem fun. I like the idea of traveling merchant. What about a trade caravan do they have this kind of stuff on land. I want to set up workers to barter and trade caravan for me if possible and then I can also sail around and help do some with my workers if that is possible. Pretty neat
Well, you can set up worker empire, the full guide is on my website. As for the land trade, yes there is land wagon, however hardly anyone does it cause it’s been a neglected trade that isn’t making much money. You can try too but trade on land is an active content, means your character have to be active doing it , while workers auto work in background. Between sailing trade and land trade, sailing is more popular, cause it makes more money, and there is one major difference. Land trade u fight off pk-ers and there are a lot of them since ground content is how everyone start with. Worst is land trade also has to fight of npc, so u get tons of player enemies and npc enemies. Sailing on the other hand doesn’t deal with npc enemies. It only deals with player enemies. Which is lesser, cause not that many players sail compared to doing land combat etc. And best part is, pkers on sea are mostly limited to the end game carracks and that is not easy to obtain which lowers sea pvp activities, plus penalty is very harsh so lesser players pvp as sea (naval karma)is very hard to regain. Do make sure to check my website for the type of ship guide, so u know which ship path to go into and don’t make a of starting on the wrong path. Also check my calculator video made for new players to download and use, it has full image of all trade item and names, making it extremely new player friendly. About the keyboard shortcut ... you only can "click" and "doubleclick" the boat icon for same result
Yup. That's another way to do it. Personally I prefer using a shortcut key cause I keep my icons really small during active gameplay to free the screen from UI clutters. I only increase UI size when doing guides haha so it's a bit hard to aim with a mouse. This will also work for players with big screens who don't want to go through the trouble of pressing control, aiming and clicking icon, at times it becomes a hassle when we are not close enough to the ship and have to keep pressing control to go back and forth between mouse mode just to adjust character positioning. So spamming a shortcut key on the other hand might be easier while you move your character WASD direction at the same time. =D Thanks for sharing and appreciate your support for the guide.

What about PvPers, am I likely to be killed by pirate players? What do you lose if your ship is attacked and you die at sea?
depending on server region, in south east asia, due to lesser player population, you are less likely to encounter pvp. when your ship gets sunk, your sailors may fall sick, so you need to buy items from central market to recover its health, your bartering trade items will be lost also. One tip is to buy a stack of Traveller's Map so if you get sunk, you can teleport yourself to nearby town. But most people bartering will not engage in pvp, cause they also risk their trade items being lost if they lose the battle. For pvpers on ocean, u can spot them from very far, cause entire large ship will be blinking red. What you can do is to go to www.trinityonline.net/guides find my guide on how to escape pvpers, i have steps that makes server change to escape super fast. hope you can like & subscribe too :)

I just started playing 3 days ago and got lucky and got a courser stone and I sold it for 46 mill and I think I want to buy a ship and do some barter. I made a guardian I dont know anything of classes just love norse mythology and all that so thought she look cool. And I am having fun with her hits are crunchy hopefully she decent. But I dont care about playing top tier. Play what I like

So I just started getting into this, and I have a question. to get the starting items (200 old tree bark), I would have to spend 4,2 mil on the market for it. After that, I could trade my way up to an Azure Quartz that sells for 5 mil. I thought bartering was a solid money making method, but that seems like a lot of work (in terms of time it takes to travel) for only 800k profit, or am I wrong here, and it's actually a good deal?
hi there, first and foremost, thank you for giving this video a chance. to answer your question, i'll try to provide you with as much details as possible, so as to help you see the bigger picture. firstly, (this may sound contradictory but its true), is that, to start barter, you shouldn't barter. Why I say this is because, bartering on lower tier ships are not efficient, its slow and can be considered boring & tedious.
So focus on only getting items needed to upgrade ship, rather than the materials to sell for money. Basically when you start bartering you are going to lose money more than earn if you are impatient like me. I spent about 3 billion silver, throwing it into the market, to buy of all the materials, to barter straight for the ship building materials.
The idea is to quickly upgrade as fast as you can, from Epheria Sailboat or Frigate, to a Caravel or Galleass. Only when you attain this tier 2 ship, depending on your path (see my ship type video), then you can start to barter a bit more for profit. We must also look at barter as a Semi Afk activity, where auto path allows you to do other things, so its more casual, less intense on the player, and the income is consistent, you are not depending on some monster rng drop.
So lets talk about the supplies, what u need and also, look at the quantity. Firstly, I encourage you to setup worker node empire, the workers are going to be an awesome lot that will bring you a lot of materials that will save you tons of silver. So refer to my worker guide if you haven't start worker empire yet. So if you have workers, it helps to off set the initial material supply, also buying from market becomes less frequent.
Next, look closely at the exchange that i mentioned in the video when i started the barter process, most barter can be done 4/4 or 5/5 or 6/6. meaning to say if your starting material to trade to tier 5 gives you 800k profit, then you can multiply that by the number of exchanges. Unless you already multiplied, then that is correct. Cause the number of exchanges when done in full, is going to help bring in more profit.
Ultimately, when i was at tier 2 galleass, i also didn't barter to sell for money. cause i have 80 workers working around the clock to get materials, and while they do that, i afk fish when i can't play to earn from fishing, using this strategy, i really don't run out of silver, so you can give it a shot. (of course i also sacrifice all my enhancing mat, knowing i am not going to use them for the next 6 months since i am on the seas, i sold all of them as well so i have more floating funds). So my journey was, i bought frigate of the market for a few billion, i then spend 3 billion to upgrade it in 14 days into a galleass, then i spend a few months taking my time to avoid burn out, to just barter a couple of hours daily for the carrack materials. once i upgraded to carrack, ship speed is fast, ship cargo storage has high capacity, then every trip i go out,i can barter a lot more things and come back selling millions of silver per round.
This brings me to my starting point, to barter for money is not to barter at the start. instead focus on ways that you can do within your means even if it means sacrificing some items. and to set things up with a bit more time spent e.g worker, or to even afk fish to optimize every minute that you can't play, to do what you can do solely focus on upgrading. The faster you can upgrade to the carrack, the earlier you will become a billionaire for sure.
That you have my word =D just remember, BDO is a sandbox mmo. there are 4 forms of income:
Active income,
Semi AFK income,
Full Afk income, and;
Passive income.
E.g will be Active = Grinding, Gathering.
Semi AFK = Cooking, Bartering,
Full AFK = Fishing and;
Passive income = workers working in background as long as you are online.
Using these fundamentals, see what works for you, and how you can fund your expedition to expediting your carrack built. :)
I hope the entire big picture isn't too wordy, (i think its very wordy so very sorry i kept you reading so much, but i just can't help but want to share more with you since you took the time to watch my video and even left a comment, and i really appreciate that).

Thank you for the detailed answer, I really appreciate it since a lot of long term BDO players take some things for granted when the concept is fully new to someone like me. I'll definitely be checking out more of your videos for everything that you mentioned! While it will take a lot of work and time, I'm willing to set up a good bartering ship and supplies, since the play style really suits me.
One thing that I struggle with the most is managing my inventory, more specifically, not knowing what many of the items are, and thus having no clue if I should be saving that item, using it, or selling it. So, if you ever run out of ideas for newbie content, that would be amazing to have, though I realize that there are probably thousands of items, and it's pretty much impossible to cover everything.
With that being said, I'm looking forward to whatever you put out next! in the meantime, I'll be catching up on your old vids :D

Hi, you can but I recommend you do the quest line. The main objective is to finish it for the level up of skilled one sailing exp from the quest so that you can use breezy sails. Unlike combat exp, sailing exp is extremely hard level, cause normal sailing does not gain any exp and only sailing at the far out magoria oceans will you gain very little exp. So I suggest you do it unless you already have skilled one sailing. Hope this reply helps and you can help me thumbs up the video and consider a subscribe.

Bartali boat is very limited. Skills can be shown when you press P while steering the ship. Mouse over the list to see the activation command. Typically you will want to buy a ship of the market. The tier one epheria sail boat vs frigate decision is one you need to make. Check my ship type video which will explain the pros and cons of both ships. You must decide the end game ship to avoid making mistakes later. Also bartali sail boat won't have certain skills. Only when you get the epheria ships then you will have certain skills e.g (breezy sails at sailing skilled 1 level). Come to my discord server. You will be able to get a lot of advise there.
