You just know that there is very little chance... that this creep has murdered only once and stopped. Yes. I’m not victim blaming in ANY way but hopefully awareness of these cases helps. Kids, teens and even adults should strictly adhere to the buddy system. Especially when camping or anywhere away from home.
I know the photo is blurry, but I wonder could they do an Age progression on it, get a rough Idea of what he could look like. He could have changed his name
He probably covered Peggy's mouth & by her being groggy from sleeping might be why no one heard anything. I bet James Raymond Taylor thought he got a clean get way. He could of left the country years ago & or has a new identity. He hasn't gotten away he's just getting by.
I was thinking about the types of tents we used in the Girl Scouts (which were nothing more than 4 sided canopies with open corners and bottoms) and how the wind would tunnel through them making it impossible to hear anything outside of our tents. I hated those things and was constantly scared someone or something would just sneak in from the open edged (it just TIED together on a wood platform) I refused future camping trips that weren't in conventional tents or cabins. This was the 90's but I think similar tents had been in use for decades and I find easy to believe no one heard a thing when this case happened.
Thank you ❤ sensitive & thorough coverage of this sick, horrible and very sorrowfull, senseless murder case. I hope you can get attention to someone who can clean that old photo up and give us an "age enhanced" idea of the killer now.
There is a similar case in Oklahoma that happened in 1977. 3 girl Scouts were raped, beaten, and one was strangled in their tent. I think there might be a connection between these two cases. Maybe it was the same man that committed this crime. I just thought I put that out there. Maybe someone can look into it.
I attended Flying “G” Ranch many times as a kid in the early 2000s and, IDK the layout of the camp in the 60s or where in the camp she was murdered, but in the early 2000s the camp was VERY spread out. Based on the newspaper photo, they at least used the same platform tents we used today back then (which don’t zip, btw, they tie shut) so I’d assume the basic layout would be generally the same for the individual sections. Each tent held four beds and could be easily entered and exited without making a sound. The tents were also generally at least ten feet apart, if not more, and made of heavy canvas. The area gets a lot of crazy storms and wind. So, honestly, I’m not surprised no one heard anything that night or if they did they were half asleep after a late night and didn’t understand what they heard. The counselors were always instructed to never tell campers about this case and I didn’t learn about it until last year when all the new stuff came up. Sadly the camp closed in 2007.
We used those same tents in the 90's in Girl Scouts and, yes they are generally placed far apart, can easily be entered and even in the midwest woods, tend to become wind tunnels where you can't hear anything outside the tent. I started refusing camping trips and since my mom was one of our group leaders, I has some sway (cuz she wasn't dragging a bunch of girls camping if her own kid refused to go)so no more camping trips. I 100% believe that no one heard a thing.
I knew Peggy Beck and her sisters. They all were at our home, along with their mom, Merna, for Brownies/Girl Scouts back in the late 50s, early 60s. We all went to North High School in Denver. It was all hush, hush and nobody wanted to talk about what happened. Peggy’s youngest sister died several years ago. She went to North with my youngest sister.
I knew about this case, but I wasn't aware they couldn't find him! I wonder where he is and what happened to him? Is he still out there like they believe, or has he already passed away? Also, have you heard of the other case involving murder durning a girl scout camping trip? There's this case (i forget where) where three girls were killed in their tent during the night. It caused the camp to permanently close. It's unsolved if I remember. It's upsetting that girls can't enjoy time camping without stuff like this happening.
The Camp Scott Girl Scout murders took place in Mayes County, Oklahoma. It's close to Tulsa. It's tragic what happened to those little girls. May they rest in peace.
Good job on this case Gabby! I came across this case several months back when I was researching the Oklahoma Girl Scout murders. Like a few folks already mentioned...makes a person wonder if Taylor has passed away already and maybe under a different name somehow? I loved how you said you take great satisfaction when one of these shit bags are arrested for killing someone years ago...ME TOO!!

Another great video. Weird that the authorities think he's still alive. I'm guessing they have info they aren't releasing in case he somehow gets wind that they're on to him.
Yes, I wonder why they believe he’s still alive. No doubt they have reasons like you stated. Kind of reminds me of Asha Degree. The FBI is still pursuing her as a missing person.
At this time of the year, I get to hear the sounds of crickets. One of the reasons I wear ear plugs to bed. The other major reason for ear plugs is my four cats. Every night-- thumpety-thump, MOWWOW, HISS!, and the rare nights when they get my bedroom door open, and I have cats walking on me, and purring in my ears!
I have 3 cats and a senior pitbull (14 years old) so, I can relate! My 2 males always get the zoomies at about 3 am and start chasing each other around the house. They both use the dog as a launch pad 😂 which pisses the dog off like hell and makes her start growling and barking like crazy...which wakes my husband and I up. It's also Wrestlemania at that time, and they are so rough and loud! 😫😭 I've started taking melatonin so it will knock me out and I dont hear the madness happening in my living room 😂
As soon as you said councillor, I remembered instantly why this case sounded familiar. It was so awful, it’s hard to forget. Glad they finally know who did this!
In that picture of James he looks like he could be late thirties not early twenties. People looked much older back then. ...Anyway I hope they'll find him. It's crazy, where could he be? But there is a chance he might have passed already.
Hi Gabbie, Sherrilyn sent me! Great vid! That creep was definitely aware of that camp hosting little and young ladies and he was definitely, or should I say, obviously watching from the woods and when he saw Peggy go to the tent alone, sadly that was it. What a freak. I hate to think of him getting to live his life and how many other girls he's damaged along the way.
Seems to be a lot of similarities between this case and the Girl Scout murders in 1977 in Oklahoma although the girls in that case were younger than Peggy. Still makes you wonder though!
wouldn't it be amazing if he's buried in the desert somewhere as a john doe either waiting to be discovered or he already was and he's a john doe somewhere.
I lived next door to a guy named James Taylor in Westland Michigan in the very early 80s. He was definitely about this guy's age, but James Taylor is such a common name, and I don't remember what the guy looked like. All I remember is his general age and his race because I was just a kid. He was creepy though. He moved less than a mile away and I babysat for him once. When he drove me home that night, he tried to put the moves on me. I was 12. I never saw him or my friend, his son, again.
i am originally from westland , it was a creepy place then , do you keep up with the Oakland County Child Killer Case? the sister of the last known victim has a blog on word press called WHat the hell is the deal with the Oakland County Child Killer Case by Catherine Broad

I’d rather look at old vintage stories. Yours sound so mysterious. Love them. Tents seem to be too far apart, 30 feet? How would he know she was by herself?

It makes me so happy when people like this guy or people like Joseph James D'Angelo (🤮) get to spend their last years in a prison cell when they thought they got away with murder.
Good that you included his middle name. Take out the middle name and you get the famous singer/songwriter. I'd say JRT died while living off the grid. (shrug)
So Peggys tent mate stays in the infirmary that night and some random guy that has, supposedly, no connection to anyone there, picks her tent out of all the tents there...the only tent with one person in it???
So glad they know who just need to find him. I can't believe the adults let them do that to the scene. I thought it was going to be the male counselor since polygraph's aren't 100%
I wonder why there doesn't seem to be an age progression picture of the killer. It could obviously be very helpful since the only picture there is of him on the internet is a grainy photo taken when he was in his late teens/early 20's.
if he's still out there I'd be unfortunately shocked if he didn't hurt others.I wonder if they've been able to test his DNA on any other unknown offenders? And I hope they find him, he needs to be held accountable somehow.
I actually think he is dead. If he "got into some trouble" in Vegas, I bet it was some gangster stuff and he was killed. It's too hard for someone to just completely fall of the map since 1976 especially with modern technology.
When they put the DNA from under the fingernails into CODIS if there had been other crimes with the same DNA they would have matched. It's not to say he definitely didn't commit any other crimes. He could have and the police never put the DNA into CODIS. It's just at this time there are no other crimes knowingly committed, except for the ones he was busted in Las Vegas for.
I also love seeing old crims being arrested these days for crimes they thought they had outrun. That look of surprise on their faces never fails to give me joy.
It would be cool If someone had one of those aging software packages and did a couple of ages. Using the original photo aging him to the approximate age he would have been when his whereabouts were known in Denver. Post that photo and see if eyewitnesses could be located. Then age it forward again to an age they were familiar with. See if it were posted again could they get a hit on a new location?
When I was young say 15 or 16 my parents would let me go to church camp. Out in the middle of no where deep in the woods of WV. Teenagers would sleep together. And looking back it was very dangerous. I would never let my kids go to a camp like that. I don't have any kids tho.
Guys who get caught this way didn't send in a DNA sample themselves. A family member like a grandchild wants to explore their families genealogy and sends a sample to 23 and Me or Ancestry. Then with detective work they figure it out.
@@danae-rain3019 she said they found a complete match. What you’re describing is a close match, but not exact. When they find a relative (cousin/sibling/parent, etc) there is still some investigative work to determine who their dna sample would have belonged to. Maybe she misspoke, but that’s not what she described in this video.
If that man disappeared way back in the 70s, back then it was probably easier to just start living under another name. Maybe he even might have fled to another country like Mexico or something. It’s spine chilling to know that there are men like that on the loose. He’s got to be living under a different name or in another country because there is no way to live for that many years off the grid in America. He could have just bought a flight to another country in another name and off he went.
When it becomes a question of “did he change his identity and go off the grid?” My instinct is always nope, I’m thinking he died in 1976. It’s baffling to me how his family can just carry on for 40 years going “idk man, haven’t seen him, don’t know.”
The reason why they gathered her stuff and cleaned everything up on the crime scene is because they all assumed she died of natural causes, like a disease, and not homicide. They all assumed doctors would figure out the disease upon inspection of the body. An honest mistake, but it was extremely careless of them to do that.
I'm sure there was another similar case where several girl scouts were murdered at a camp many years ago. Don't know if there could be a connection between these two cases
This kind of case disgusts me. Peggy was on the very cusp of adulthood with her whole life ahead of her. She never knew the joy of motherhood, never had a career. Never experienced the life that was ahead of her. And for what? For the gratification of some creep. Maybe he found his way to a fate equally as brutal as what he did to Peggy and is scattered somewhere in the Navada Desert, but if not I hope to God they track him down and put this old bastards where he belongs. RIP Peggy. I pray your sisters find the closure they deserve. Thanks Gabby for all the hard hours and good work you put in to publicising and hopefully helping to close these cases. ❤️🌹

I Always look forward to you videos! Nice to see you!
Hi Gabby! So glad you up loaded
Yeah Gabby missed you!! I NEEDED this! Thank you!
I’m not sure how hard it was to assume a new identity back then, but I’d imagine it couldn’t be hard. Especially if he had mob connections.
Perfect timing I was just looking for something to watch
"I Love Frogs .... Ribbet!"
should definitely be a new merch
Hey Gabby!! Thanks for posting ❤️
Love your channel - you have a great demeanor for theses videos - some of the other true crime creators out there don’t hold your interest and their voices are just … idk kinda weird…- you have a great voice for telling these stories and come across very genuine , n sincere -
Giving a lot of information without it dragging -keeping it moving and interesting throughout- -always a great job on your videos ! :) thanks !
Thank you for all your hard work. I always look for you.🙂
In that picture of James he looks like he could be late thirties not early twenties. People looked much older back then. ...Anyway I hope they'll find him. It's crazy, where could he be? But there is a chance he might have passed already.
I definitely thought I was looking at a photo of him in his 40s!!
I thought the same
Please could you cover the case of Fanny Adams? It’s a local vintage case to me that really shook the community. I’d love to hear you cover it❤️
Eleanor Neale covered this case brilliantly.
wouldn't it be amazing if he's buried in the desert somewhere as a john doe either waiting to be discovered or he already was and he's a john doe somewhere.
James Taylor is a very common name.
i am originally from westland , it was a creepy place then , do you keep up with the Oakland County Child Killer Case? the sister of the last known victim has a blog on word press called WHat the hell is the deal with the Oakland County Child Killer Case by Catherine Broad
@@charleslalonde2324 i had kept up with the OCCK off and on, and found a message board about run by Helen Dagner. It shut down years ago and I didn't keep up with it as much after that. I'll definitely look into the site you mentioned. I hadn't heard of it. Thank you so much for letting us know about it.
This girls Killer from WI.
Maybe him. This guy graduated in 1954 in Wisconsin. Across the water from MI. Uhhh sick man. But he could have done this many more times. Oklahoma girl scouts? Oakland County kids? There is a photo on internet of James Taylor's year book photo Wisconsin. Distinguishing Ears stick out!!!!
Ypu are blessed! I didnt hear my gray treefrogs last year!
Great channel ❤️
I always love hearing your cases.
There is a case that happened in a town 13 miles from mine and has ner been found. I sent info on Wikipedia.
Thank you
Kelly Dae Wilson
Missing for 29 years.
She was kidnapped Jan. 5, 1992 from Gilmer Texas.

Wikipedia?
I wonder if there’s anyway to find out how many dna samples need genetic genealogy done to solve crimes
I’d rather look at old vintage stories. Yours sound so mysterious. Love them. Tents seem to be too far apart, 30 feet? How would he know she was by herself?
I hope that he will be found but maybe he paid the final price and God is judging him. Her family deserves justice they know who they just need him. Press his family noone hides for that Long that well w/ out help. Thanks for the upload ❤️💛🖤👍🏾💜 have a great weekend and be safe out there 🤎
Even as late as 1976 it was easy to go off grid and disappear.
@@anthonystike6034 But to stay disappeared? He could have changed his identity
@@anthonystike6034 yes but at the end of the day they had help
He probably has a new identity, that's the most likely explanation for there being no record of him...
I haven't heard of this case, but I'm looking forward to hear it.
Las Vegas 1976: going to assume he ran afoul of the Mob and they took care of the problem
It’s so amazing what can be done with DNA technology these days. So glad his family members at least got a few answers if not justice yet.
So glad they know who just need to find him.
I can't believe the adults let them do that to the scene. I thought it was going to be the male counselor since polygraph's aren't 100%
Could he be in Oklahoma. Remember there was a killing of three girls there at a girl scout camp in 77.
Wow it's worth looking at.
I kept thinking about that case as I listened to this. You may well be onto something. 👍
They were murdered by Gene Leroy Hart…at least I’m 99% sure he is responsible.
TY Gabby. Brilliant, as usual. ❤️ The 🐸 frogs 😅
May justice be served very soon!!!!👏🙌🤞🙏👍
did tents have zippers in the late 1950s early 60s? i remember old tents with ties. can this be why no one heard the opening of the tent?
Foiled by frogs! 🐸 😂 I don’t know why that’s so funny to me 🤣🤣🤣
I wonder why there doesn't seem to be an age progression picture of the killer. It could obviously be very helpful since the only picture there is of him on the internet is a grainy photo taken when he was in his late teens/early 20's.
Agreed, age progressions are very helpful in cases like these (just like with John List)
@@acidberry3630 John List! So glad he was caught!
Can you imagine how he felt seeing himself on Americas Most Wanted??
if he's still out there I'd be unfortunately shocked if he didn't hurt others.I wonder if they've been able to test his DNA on any other unknown offenders?
And I hope they find him, he needs to be held accountable somehow.
I actually think he is dead. If he "got into some trouble" in Vegas, I bet it was some gangster stuff and he was killed. It's too hard for someone to just completely fall of the map since 1976 especially with modern technology.
@@fremontpathfinder8463 exactly..that’s what I thought as well
When they put the DNA from under the fingernails into CODIS if there had been other crimes with the same DNA they would have matched.
Love your channel. And believe me this is a compliment..you look like a young Stevie Nicks. Calming voice and beautiful.
If he was found through a genealogy database, shouldn’t they have been able to subpoena info from them? When/where was his sample collected from?
Guys who get caught this way didn't send in a DNA sample themselves. A family member like a grandchild wants to explore their families genealogy and sends a sample to 23 and Me or Ancestry. Then with detective work they figure it out.
@@danae-rain3019 she said they found a complete match. What you’re describing is a close match, but not exact. When they find a relative (cousin/sibling/parent, etc) there is still some investigative work to determine who their dna sample would have belonged to. Maybe she misspoke, but that’s not what she described in this video.
Maybe DNA was left at the scene, and they couldn't test it until recently. I don't know how else they would be able to obtain it.
I love you're videos! So proper and unbiased. Could you look into Scotland more? The highlands are dangerous as much as beautiful

They just dug up a grave in Salem IN, The guy went by Bill Hall, but it’s James Taylor!!! Very interesting!
No not the guy . James taylor has a yearbook pic from Wisconsin 1954 grad. Ears stick out far. Look for it on internet.
I love you and this crime channel you rock sweet beautiful lady!
❤️🌹
I hope he had a bad life in hiding ... he deserves that. Poor girl and her family/friends ...
I think he's in Canada or just off the grid. He's under a different name. I really hope he's caught.
We welcome all the low life’s to Canada because we just love criminals and we don’t punish anyone no matter what one does .and remember we send no one back if the death penalty is on the table again because we want all these creeps to live a great life no matter what they did I want the death penalty here in Canada but we will never get. To many whimps here in the justice system
@@sharonbrown6595 and we thank you and Canada, j/k. Unfortunately, the death penalty hasn't seemed to deter the freaks and sickos here either, but I'm still happy to have it. Nothing is perfect but we do what we can.

Has there been any updates to this two years later?
