There was a case here a 10 year old right here in my nieghborhood! Her father was the number 1 suspect ruined their marriage & he never came back from it their whole family fell apart! Then it was alleged that it was a man named Custer one of her sister's biker friend's! Well years later they put the DNA into the data base! It turned out the guy who done it was already in prison & he was 16 years old at the time of the murder & rape! Someone that wasnt even a suspect! He had a bad family life & was a troubled person! Even after this all occured & had spent alot of time off & on in jail & prison! It makes sense as she was found in a barn that kids hung out at quite often before & after school! These barns were torn down by the farmer! Later it was sold off & there's ton's of houses there now! 😒😒😒😒😒😒

If he was a security guard at the city centre, then no doubt he was familiar with her, maybe even knew her schedule, since he would have seen her around possibly. It wouldn't surprise me if he planned this.

Hi Gabby I am so glad that DNA and genealogy helped solve this old cold case of Susan Galvin. She was a very pretty lady. Too bad she met with foul play. I always wanted to go back to the 1960’s. So much crime even back in the days. Well I hope you stay well and safe 👍🏻🤞

I am so glad for the advances of DNA technology to help solve many cold cases. Susan’s family is finally getting answers. My heart goes out to her mom and the heartache she must have felt for the rest of her life. I believe as you do that he must have other victims out there. I can’t see him stopping after killing Susan. If he was my dad, it would totally mess me up.

I can relate to Susan's family as my cousin was murdered in the early 90s and is a cold case. On the flipside, imagine your dad or husband turning out to be a murderer. That has to be really difficult too.

I always think of how it must have been so much harder solving murders pre-dna...😥
I remember watching a kiddies news programme on the BBC back when the 'we've cracked the dna code' announcement was made. We knew it was a biggie, but geeze, the advances made in that 35 yrs since have been astronomical!
    Great upload Gabby🌷

The Seattle PD (King county) has been doing amazing work lately, too! Just gave a jane doe her name back- who was the youngest victim of Gary Ridgeway (the green river killer). She was 14 years old when she was murdered in 1984.
Fun fact: Gary Ridgeway took my aunt on a date shortly before he was caught. She said he was adamant he take her home after and she kept saying no thanks. She's so lucky to he alive!! He also lived down the street from my coworker, she said he was always friendly. So crazy!! Love these cold cases that eventually get solved. 💓

Good job Gabby. I liked how you touched on the affect this situation has on the perpetrator's family as well. When someone commits a heinous crime like this, they not only commit incredible damage to the victim's family...but when their crime come's to light years later that affect is boomeranged back on to their own family as well. As someone mentioned below sometimes these crime's are done by a seemingly "normal" person that nobody would have expected. Has to be a complete shock to that person's family/children.

I love the idea of all these terrible sub-humans walking around cocky, thinking they've gotten away with everything but being VERY WRONG. I know sometimes it IS too late to catch them and make them pay on EARTH, but with these advances, FEWER and FEWER scumbags are living out their entire lives without the past catching up with them! I hope they're watching these advances and starting to look over their shoulders and sleeping less peacefully after every one of these cold cases being solved by DNA!

If the Clown was so close to Susan, I wonder if he noticed that this security officer was watching her, in a suspicious way... Or if she ever told him that she felt uncomfortable around this guy. I mean Punchy could probably redirect the investigation towards this man, but he didn't... probably out of fear. Anyway, so unfair that he was never catched.

There was actually some measure of justice delivered: Punchy the Clown was definitively cleared. Justice isn't just about finding the guilty, it is about clearing the names of the innocent.
Different people react differently, some more differently than others. I'm glad that in this time and age, there is a smaller risk than people who don't act "the way they should" are accused and/or convicted just based on their unusual reactions.

I hope her case being solved has brought some measure of relief to her family.

Punchy is such a weird person in all of this. Especially since he had this friendship going on with her. Even if he didn't want to help with the case you would think that he would be upset in some way about her death but he just...didn't care. Maybe he didn't kill her, but I still think there's something the matter with a person who can be friends with someone and then just not care at all when they die.

  • @john80c

I think the police should examine their cold cases as it could mean closure for their families. I think he approached Susan in his uniform which would put her at ease, he tried it on and she said no, he lost it and killed her. Evil man no sympathy for him at all.
