    • @AnnSwansonWellness
      @AnnSwansonWellness  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Putting your legs up I’d great during pregnancy, but lying on your back might be too much pressure on your baby at this point in the pregnancy. I’d suggest legs up a chair or elevated on pillows AND use some pillows to elevate your head/hopper back, creating an incline so you aren’t flat on your back. Alternatively, sit in a chair with your legs elevated and do the meditation there :) let me know how it goes!

    I sleep with my feet elevated. You can buy nice soft wedge that elevates legs, and also buy adjustable bed for additional elevation. That helps a lot. Also, if you can do some cardio exercise right before doing this great exercise, fluid can drain even more, because you get your circulation going. I do stationary recumbent bike, which is low impact and also has legs somewhat elevated, vive a treadmill where your legs and feet are down. Feels wonderful afterwards. Highly recommend

    • @AnnSwansonWellness
      @AnnSwansonWellness  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! If they do, you can either scoot further away from the wall to relieve the strain OR you can do the version of legs up the chair that I show earlier in the video. You get the same benefits. Let me know how that feels :)

    • @AnnSwansonWellness
      @AnnSwansonWellness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Can we do this in pregnancy?

      Yes except later I the pregnancy when you are advised not to stay on your back , I’d create an incline of pillows to lie on so your head and chest are elevated. And consider just putting legs up the chair. But putting your legs up is great for circulation!

    Can I do this in the morning? After I wake up? Thanks

      Sure! You can do it anytime you want. I just find I need it more at the end of the day and it is a relaxing way to end the day

      No, that is forbidden. You may do it before you wake up, that's allowed

      I usually just do it once at the end of the day, but sometimes like when I'm walking a lot on vacation and my feet are swollen, I will do it in the afternoon once and before bed another time

    I skip rope regularly and also team this with a 2-5 mile walk a day. Yesterday I skipped rope then went about my daily walk (4+ miles). Me feet were hurting more than usual, so when I got home I sat down and rested for the remainder of the day. By the evening they were still quite sore and I wanted to take a look at them to see if I might have gotten blisters. What I found was swollen ankles instead. Now I've been exercising for years and this has never happened before post exercise. I still have the swollen ankles, though the pain has lessen. I had edema once from a long flight that lasted for 3 weeks and though I did everything to reduce the swelling, it just took a really long time to go away. Is this normal to have swollen ankles if you're an active person: especially with skipping that really does a great job of strengthening the ankles. *Caveat potential* I don't stretch but just do a warmup for all exercising I do.

      Hi Cora, Jumping rope is fun! This exercise should help with your swollen ankles, However, you'll definitely want to have your doctor look at it, especially if it is a constant problem.

    If your shoes are tight then get new shoes. Barefoot shoes are the most beneficial to your feet & toes.

    Must be nice to have a nice spacious ass room to do this in. Any other ideas?

      You can do this on a locked door if you don't have wall room.. or even better, just do it in bed with your legs up the headboard or wall!
