Matthew Compton The rear definitely takes more work. It’s not hard, just takes some time. Personally, I loved doing these projects and found doing the projects my self to be very rewarding
@@jfoutdoors4337 totally agree! It's so much fun every time you make progress. I found the front to take more time because of all the angles to weld at
Love the content man ! I just bought 3rd Gen high clearance front and rear bumper kits for my 99 runner (still in boxes) off Facebook marketplace. Everything was there except for the instruction manual print out lol I’ve tried to reach out to coastal off road a few times but they haven’t answered me… l Is there anyway you could help me out?
Any chance the swing out video is coming anytime soon. I literally built the front and rear bumper while playing your video. Looking forward to the swing out to complete my build.
Matthew Carter that’s awesome man!!!! It isn’t going to happen unfortunately. But you can do it!! It was very easy!!!! I sold the 4runner to an awesome guy and his family that really wanted it! Cheers
Hi Jearred, Thanks for your Coastal Offroad series! This company can be very grateful to you! What’s up with Ruby project? When do you finish the rear bumper swing arm? Thank you and all the best! RP
@@jfoutdoors4337 great video! I'm wondering if I can get away with using the Titanium Easy-Flux 125 from Harbor Freight? I'm on a budget and this will be my first welding project.
Sweet, I'm your 1000th subscriber. Have a 97 that I put a Shrockworks front bumper, full skid plates, and sliders on, been eyeballing this Coastal rear bumper. Looks great! Any idea if the stock spare would still fit up under the back with this bumper? Would love to do the aluminum version, but aside from not being as comfortable with the aluminum welding process, the extra cost is pretty steep. Kinda of think steel is a better choice for towing work as well. An extra 48 lbs over stock isn't too bad (especially considering all the other steel I've already added).
I was thinking of welding it myself, what brand is your welder? Instead of paying someone else I probably should invest in a good welder. By the way great videos.
Thank you for the video, I am looking to get this kit myself. Did you grind clean the bumper on those 2 pallets ? Are they stable enough to sit on top of it while grinding and cleaning the welds ? Also GO BRONCOS !
Did you ever end up comparing the weight between your new bumper and the old bumper + tow package? Based off my research I’m assuming you only gained about 50-60 pounds in the rear
Craig Trask kinda! I weighed the factory bumper and tow hitch. Total weight for all that was 72lbs. I didn’t weigh the Coastal bumper but they claim 120lbs and I trust what they are saying. So, I think your research is spot on !!!
@@jfoutdoors4337 oh ok sweet man. Yeah I'm picking up a Japanese import hilux, and I plan on doing these mods. Great videos man I love the detail that you go into!
Esmit Gonzalez if I am understanding you correctly. Yes, all the pieces come perfect from Coastal Off-road and the manual and directions are clear and concise
@@jfoutdoors4337 yeah I just got mine and had no idea. The mail room didn't give me the 3rd package that with the instructions so I had no way of knowing if that was normal. I sent them some feed back regarding that - hopefully they will heed it.
Good job and a very thorough walk thru. Researching for a 2nd gen. Thanks for your time.!!
dhu1042476 cheers! Get it done!
Great kits, but dont underestimate how much work these are! Just finished my front and rear bumpers with rear swingour

What a great video. Thanks for taking the time to record the video man. Subbed for the rest of the bumper build!
Awesome build, planning on ordering the rear bumper for my pickup. Debating on adding the tire carrier as well, subd for the tire carrier install

Wondering the same
Another Great Video Man! Got the wheels turning about ordering this kit for my 99 3rd Gen!

I'm in Northern Nevada as well. How much to have you help me build mine? lol
Greta video again!
Ready to see that tire carrier video.
Did you mind if i ask what shipping cost for the front and rear bumper?
Jason Bohac thanks!! I do not remember to be honest. Their website clearly lays out the pricing. It’s pretty Cold right now!! Will be soon!
Nice work!
Noe Del valle thanks!!
Hi Jearred!
Thank you for shared with us this video! I’m really waited this part! All my respect is yours!
Ever finish up swing out? Didn’t see a video listed
I did, and my camera took a crap so no video. My apologies
Would this project be ok for a total beginner?
Nice videos of both front and now rear 👍 what welder are you using?
overland_rob titanium from harbor freight

RedPill 2021 do it! This is a titanium welder from harbor freight. Worked great! I use it all the time
New to welding... made a winch base that held up, but that's it. 1 to 10 welding skill needed?
Stinkfam you can do this. Go slow. Follow my video. Get it all tacked. Weld the shit out of it. You will be welding outside and inside. I believe in u

Did it hold up well for towing?? Great video
Craig Trask yes! Has worked awesome! We have a pop up camper and I have towed a tandem axle trailer with a ton of pellets. No issues
Are u going to install swing arm also?
arin mirzayan yes I am! Video to come soon
Great
What welder are you using?
I have the same welder. What settings did you use with the flux core for this?
Kill Reptar oh crap I don’t remember. Use your chart as a baseline. I know I turned up my amps a little
@@jfoutdoors4337 oh ok sweet man. Yeah I'm picking up a Japanese import hilux, and I plan on doing these mods. Great videos man I love the detail that you go into!
Estimate of how long it all took? A shop told me it could take them 8-10 hours. That seems high for a professional shop?
Blair Rad that depends on what all they are doing? All the way to coating it? I could probably weld it all together and grind smooth in 4-6 hours
Hey grate video I was asking if in the manual come the size of the pieces?
Esmit Gonzalez if I am understanding you correctly. Yes, all the pieces come perfect from Coastal Off-road and the manual and directions are clear and concise
No I said if in the manual comes the size of each piece
Esmit Gonzalez no, the pieces are identified by picture and number, not dimension
Ok, I will like the dimensions.
Wheres the rear swingout video???
How much was your welder, And are you using flux core ?
It was just shy of $400 for everything. I used one large spool of flux for all the projects.
@@jfoutdoors4337 awesome, thanks !
Wait did they not give you the bolts for the kit??
Paul Hew nope. That was one place I found they could make it much better for the customer.

Bob Bo Harbor freight titanium welder
JF Outdoors awesome, thanks!
JF Outdoors mig or flux?
Bob Bo I used FLUX. gas would have been cleaner for sure. But, it worked really well
