Other cool brands are Leaf Apparel, Good Good Good, and then there are some other smaller ones like Brunch Club, Gevaar oh and Artclub and Friends and Float apparel. "super small text that nobody will read but makes the image look way cooler because small details add visual interest and make the image more compelling" haha love that! Question to anyone who may know, what kind of design is that intro sequence called? I want to learn to make one but am unsure what to even look up or what to use to make one.

    • @jasneetnamdhari4583
      @jasneetnamdhari4583 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the world of "spread of mouth" as the best sort of marketing, do you really want a confusing name? Beat Rare is a wonderful name unless someone hears your brand name and try finding it as "be it rare" or "betrayer".
      Good luck!

    Snake guy, my dude you are promoting the use of student photographers where you know they are not going to be paid their worth! arg you were on a good roll till you said that!

    • @THECASUALco
      @THECASUALco  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With all due respect, I think you misinterpret. I don't promote the use of student photographers and NOT paying them. For a student photographer the most essential time is the start of your career. Any business person worth their salt, especially an aspiring one, should compensate skill based work and promote them. All photographers, student and pro alike, should have a contract spelling out the compensation whether paid or unpaid.
      For many student photographers having an early portfolio is golden and often it includes pro bono work. I'm personally familiar with that process as, I too, am a designer that has worked on several levels. When I started I was doing a lot of work for pennies or free. Just so I could have a valid portfolio, but I also had a contract spelling out conditions.

    I enjoy your commentary on fashion but honestly, unless I missed something here, you don't sound like you've ever started a successful fashion brand so how would you be qualified to talk about that? I think you're better off interviewing those that have with your incite. Correct me if I'm wrong and you have successfully created one, but I don't think you have.

    • @THECASUALco
      @THECASUALco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      This is the problem with the view of the industry John. If I told you that I worked with Fred Segal Jeans, United Arrows & Son's, Broke City Gold (grew their sales by 20% 8 might add), Beams, Creative Artist Agency, sold out of every successful "mini drop" I've ever released, created one of the most successful fashion tours in Tokyo Japan, created apparel line ups for lifestyle companies like sbe, went to school for exactly what I'm talking about and let's be honest started a TH-cam channel about all the things learned from working as a professional in the business of fashion, it doesn't seem to count, because you may think it's all about "making a brand."
      Having been an integral part of the companies I have worked for, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that having a brand is a process and hard work. The info provided on this channel is what you would receive in a fashion business course in college. I decided a long time ago that that information should be accessible by those who don't have the money to afford school.
      But to answer your question, I HAD a brand, it was becoming quite successful, but I shut it down because I hated the direction. At the time it was positioned as a streetwear brand and I had a customer base, had the marketing finished but ultimately I wanted to make something bigger and better. That's why I moved back to Japan initially, to build a better label.
      I was convinced to talk about that process by a friend, via this very channel. Using the same tactics I learned in brand building, I made this channel. And look where we are.
      Let's be real here; if I was an middle aged woman talking about the intricacies of fashion, what a CMT was or a fully factored manufacturer was, many probably wouldn't question my credentials. You'd probably assume I was a teacher. We learn that in marketing too. It's confirmation bias.
      And to be real if I had to answer this question everytime someone asked it I would be writing forever. But you know who doesn't question it? Fashion students & professionals. Why? Because they know I'm giving away free info they had to pay for, but if it really bothers you I suggest you opt out of watching our business series, however many people find them incredibly useful.

    • @johnta17
      @johnta17 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@THECASUALco hey, that's all you had to clarify or qualify in front of every youtube video - "I worked with Fred Segal Jeans, United Arrows & Son's, Broke City Gold (grew their sales by 20% 8 might add), Beams, Creative Artist Agency, sold out of every successful "mini drop" I've ever released, created one of the most successful fashion tours in Tokyo Japan... please subscribe and hit the notification bell..."
      I'm not saying this is you, but there is a lot of fake guru-ing going on in youtube. Sometimes the knowledge bombs you drop would be explicated with a concrete example in real life that you personally went through. That's the difference between a storyteller and a knowledge bomber - tether it to real life example. You wouldn't expect me to go to a travel channel and listen to someone about what to do when traveling to Australia when they have never been there.
      Carry on, your content is good and you are well spoken. Don't make it about a gender thing, I have no idea what you are saying about middle aged white women. You keep doing you.

    • @THECASUALco
      @THECASUALco  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No disrespect. But that is far too long winded and unnecessary. People can choose to believe or not because everyone of those credentials could be fake. I could be blowing smoke ALL the way out.
      It's the exact reason why I mentioned "woman" (not white woman), and it's the exact reason I pointed out confirmation bias.
      I have no beef with your criticism. In fact I invite it. I just think that trying to prove to everyone your worth through researchable knowledge and persistence is far more effective than saying "I did this!"
      That being said thanks for your insight.
      ~Reggie
