    1. Lack focus- plan well, do ur homework
    2. Lack of design skills- study up, learn the game, dont play it by ear
    3. Inconsistent branding- have vision, direction, and identity, be immersive
    4. Bad presentation- be professional, 1st impressions matter
    5. No community- build a community/ fanbase, but use old and new forms from networking to social media
    6. Lack identity- good if ur a designer bad if ur not, dont be too broad n personal, focus on the ppl/ customers more
7.lack marketing knowledge- know how to sell,
    8. Lack authenticity- maintain a relationship by being authentic
    9. Overspending -
    10 cutting corners
Lack sales knowledge- study production, pricing,

I think everyone in the comments agrees the constant squarespace advertising is a bit annoying but if it keeps this type of information free im very thankful 🙏 i appreciate all of the advice you give, its really helps. Especially #6 on this one, my brand definitley was focused on me too much and had alot of explaining when the designs couldnt do it themselves. Definitley hurt my ego lol but if thats what it takes to grow ill take it.

This video is a 13 minute long ad for Squarespace. That said, Reggie packed it with so much valuable content that it’s a 13 minute ad I happily watched, even gave it a thumbs up. This is branded content at its finest; authentic, insightful, worthwhile.

For everyone that thinks you can do it by being a “lifestyle” or being a “collective” stop being lazy. Study up if you don’t have an art degree in fashion/design. It won’t happen for you by running in circles on Instagram.

    • @gd4490
      @gd4490 2 ปีที่แล้ว

lol did you just give not a having an art degree as a reason why People will fail? That’s something only people whos parents paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for their degrees say so they don’t feel as if they wasted their parents money. Hahahaha they did!! Hahahahha

@@gd4490 basically I said go to school or educate yourself… but first learn to read I guess. I hope if you’re getting into this you have a firm grip on art and design history, digital and material techniques and skills, business practices and marketing, conceptual art discourse, etc. it’s hard to put hours into these naturally on your own time. Yea ok basquiat didn’t go to school, but he educated himself, then joined up with Warhol, who did go to school. If you’re sitting in a room with people that you wish to consider colleagues, you better know wtf they’re talking about. But I’m mainly talking to the people that think their individuality alone would give them an edge in this industry as long as they have access to make T-shirt’s and ways to copy other garment designs. I’m also talking to these snobby “designers” that don’t even know what a tech sheet is while their lifestyle brand is hyped to the max. But if you have enough time to endure trial and error until you have something substantial, start by being passionate and ignorant and learn the hard and costly way while firmly holding onto what little time you have as a fashionable youth. All I’m saying is that if you can’t comprehensively educate yourself to be as knowledgeable as the most successful people, then go to school, duh right? Unless you think anyone can get into this and compete at any knowledge level. Either way, you have to learn the ropes, and yea school is expensive (not community college) , but so are the years you might spend failing without even knowing why.

@@Analstrosen well I would like to start by saying just because there are hundreds of thousands of wanna bs and know it all’s that think everything is easy and nothing takes work popping up on the internet everyday DOESNT mean there aren’t still people with passion left. I started off learning the Streetwear scene from skate brands in the early 2000s to the Karmaloop wave till now with brands like ALD, and image boards like JJJJound dominating the industry. Since age 13 I’ve been fascinated by the artistic side of the streets, I learned how to do graffiti as a way to be apart of this scene and quickly became very good at what I do. With graffiti I learned all about color schemes, personal branding, symmetry and basic and advanced graphic design skills over the past decade. While all this was going on I was going to a tech high school for IST where I learned basic coding like HTML / some JAVA and also socially media marketing but I picked up the majority of my marketing skills through personal experience with trial and error Shopify stores and selling other people projects, it really challenged me and taught me a lot about what it will take to make a sale and how hard it will be. Regardless this is what I’m passionate about and what I’ve always been passionate about so putting in the work is not going to be a problem for me. I know what it takes and I have what it takes. It’s very easy to get people with true passion confused with the millions of wanna bs flooding ALL industries with TH-cam knowledge trying to act like they know it all already.

@@Analstrosen And ya you’re right it absolutely it is hard for some people to put hours into those topics on their own …without passion and drive. This is 2022 there is NOTHING you can’t do on your own and there is NOTHING you can’t learn for FREE without school. I’m sorry but I will never in a million years allow someone to teach me ART…

Down one 🍺 for every squarespace mentioned 😂
Despite the squarespace advertising; I think you are the few to actually tell us how it can actually integrate with a business, unlike most who just randomly plug into a segment that has no relevance.
Anyhow, what I do derived from the video is that we should go back to the basics.

    Reason 1: square space
    Reason 2: square space
    Reason 3: square space
    Reaso.........
The common denominator behind all of the failures seems to be squarespace 🤔 so basically, avoid square space at all cost
