#learnerabuse Those hand signals are not in a highway code. Not sure what he wanted to achieve by jumping out of his car. Bit of sunshine and idiots are plenty.
As any driving instructor will tell you, this is perfectly normal behaviour for a small but significant minority. It's unnerving at first, but after a while you learn to take it in your stride. My favourite driving genius is the one who follows you to a junction where the word "Stop" is written in letters three feet high in the middle of the road, and then wonders why the car in front comes to a complete halt! There's nothing you can do about it, and I've lost three instruction vehicles because of this particular breed of super-idiot.
At this point i'd outfit my student cars with some armor or some kind of rear pushbumper like on those American police cars. It ain't legal here on the front but idk about the back.
Watching this reminded me of an old joke. “What’s the difference between a Range Rover and a hedgehog?” “On a hedgehog the pricks are on the outside” 😂😂😂
For what it is worth that Range Rover is registered in Co. Cork, Republic of Ireland and it might be worth your while submitting the reg no to the Irish Car registration Office at Shannon, Co Clare who may be able to identify the registered owner. I do not know what the procedures are for identifying and tracking suspects driving Irish cars in the UK but there should be some level of cooperation between out two islands in such matters. That psycho is an accident waiting to happen.
Worth a try. My sister, from Australia, was driving my car when on holiday and was caught speeding at Bala, in Wales. When she returned to OZ had to complete a speed awareness course, courtesy of the Australian authorities. There must be an agreement- can't see why the same might not exist between the UK and Republic of Ireland
This is why it is always good to drive an old car. When guys like this come along threatening to hit you with their expensive cars I always make sure it happens!
Amazing how getting held up a few seconds can trigger a driver who then has all the time in the world to stop and remonstrate in the middle of the road.
That driver is a a disgrace , we all have to learn how to drive and give learners the space they require, I would personally say his a lucky man as I've seen aggressive drivers jumped on for doing that to a learner,
This guy has the wrong attitude. One day he may come across an unmarked police car. Since the car has Republic of Eire plates, the driver is hopefully visiting.

People did this whilst i was learning and it gets my goat up. Really really clever lets tailgate a learner driver whos going slowly, whos nervous enough as it is, abuse them, and at the same time possibly increase the chance of an accident aswell. Then proceed to overtake on a dangerous street and stop the car and acts hard to a learner whos not even allowed to stop, and an instructor who is still at work and not able to approach him back. Absolute scum.
I get bored of people who pass their test but basically have no intention of driving that way after they pass. They just think “ I’ll get my licence and then afterwards I’ll just do whatever I want “. It makes me wonder what the point of the test actually is.
The land rover driver doesn't deserve to have a driving license for bullying other road users like that. Its people like him who cause accidents and injure other people for driving the way he does.
I just don’t understand it. To me the ‘L’ plate simply means back off, don’t hurry the driver, expect a mistake and allow them room to make that mistake. Everyone has to learn somewhere
As a motorcyclist and motorist, I hate Range Rovers. Must be an attitude of those who drive them. Recently passed our village school. The school bus was parked in the road taking kids on, despite the lay-bye by the school which said in large yellow letters 'SCHOOL BUS ONLY.' Two black Ranger Rovers were parked there.
i am surprised that people are shocked at this don`t they know Range Rover drivers own the road and if you see one it your responsibility to get out of the way of them
It’s good to learn early on that all Land Rover drivers are dangerous. They seem to have a personality transplant when they buy these things. I live in “mild” countryside so get harassed every day by various Land Rovers, I just expect it nowadays. It’s always dangerous to generalise but, seems to me, Land Rover attracts complete arseholes like no other brand.
What tf did I just watch. A guy aggressively exiting his car without any sort of provocation. This is a textbook example of people cherrypicking people they know won’t or can’t fight back

I can’t believe that pedestrian starts to run across the road but then slows down suddenly to a walk half way across. Just going to make the leaner think they don’t have to slow down as much as they need to. Ik you should always be prepared to stop in that situation, just a bit silly doing it in front of a learner though.
If/when one passes the driving test one accepts all the rules of the Highway Code. Reinventing the code is a no-no which is not an option available. No one can be in a hurry, the speed limit is the speed limit.
The funny thing is that even if you are speeding, you won't get anywhere earlier. Unless you do long distance hauling over thousands of kilometers, the extra 10km/h on your speedo makes no noticeable difference. I love going 50km/h in town when everyone else is doing 70. Then at the next stoplight I roll up right before green comes on and I overtake everyone because I don't need to start from a standstill. Better fuel economy, less wear on brakes and gears. I don't get why it's not obvious to everyone that this is literally, objectively better than speeding and stopping over and over.

I usually don't like stereotypes, but... Should be fun in the coming months, as Newport is going down to 20 on 90% of roads.
Would you get close to someone when you are in a cinema queue or any other queues' for that matter. That would be classed as abuse and intimidation, but on the road idiots do this all the time, thinking they are more important than others and they are in a rush and act arrogant. The fact is by overtaking or speeding you are still unlikely to arrive at your destination any sooner than if you drived safely and courteously. Even if it is marginally quicker is it worth risking life and limb. This sort of mental state of drivers needs to be added in the Driver Learning Schedule and also the general public because this is criminal type behaviour.
