Design Student Imagines KTM EX-C Freeride With Swappable Battery
With swappable battery technology top of mind, design student Julien Lecreux reimagined KTM’s electric platform as a lightweight adventurer. Drawing from the current EX-C Freeride and center hub steering motorcycles, Lecreux formulates an uber-futuristic dual-sport. Featuring a heads-up display (HUD) integrated into the windshield, fore and aft single-sided swing arms, and a sleek design, the Light Adventure concept pushes the boundaries of today’s technology.
The design student dreams up an intuitive battery system that supplements the onboard fuel cell with two external power packs. Fashioned after old jerrycans, the additional batteries attach to the lower portion of the front fairing. The position aligns with KTM’s gas tank placement on the 790/890 Adventure and prioritizes handling by centralizing the fuel mass. The extra battery packs also fill the void between the fascia and front swingarm.
