    • @Rousseau4469

Real baklava or actually Kopti or Koptoplakous has walnuts almonds and pistachio in it. The fyllo is quite different layered of course there is no butter used just boiled water with honey which is the syrup and the it’s added to the end of the baking of balklava not before baked as shown here. A detail is that the correct cutting in pieces is the second shown here not in slices as cake. For more details of proper Kopti someone should read Athinaios document Deipnisofistes where he quotes Xrysippos Tyaney’s document on how to properly make one. The ancient recipe also contained seeds from black poppy’s.

@@AHMAD.ALAMOUDI what I am referring is that there are 2 ancient documents referring to this sweet but only one of them has survived and it is referring to the first in chronological order quoting it that Kopti ( original name of the sweet) is very well described and documented there. That document does not describe the use of butter but only the use of honey diluted in hot water making it a syrup. And of course in the recipe there is also reference to the use of soft walnuts from Thassos island Almonds from northern coasts of the Black Sea and black poppy seeds wherever can be found it does not make any distinction nor difference.

I really do not know the earliest time in history but different techniques involved & existed !!! I guess everybody is contributed something in order the final product to reach it's perfection making !!! & of course everything it depends on it's flavor & must see to it when eating it by the sense of feel !!!

Called kaymak but fake one, ( real kaymak is made from milk cream) I hate it. Not all of them have it, ( only şöbiyet etc have it ) made from milk and ground samoline, you can check the receipe here th-cam.com/video/n_QkRJAx7t8/w-d-xo.html
