I am a slender white disabled female senior citizen. I have had 3 total hip replacement surgeries over the course of 40 years. My weight has ranged between 100 and 156 lbs. The heaviest weight gain occurred after the last surgery in 2000. It took 12 years to get my weight to the point where I could actually move my body without feeling like I was dragging an ox cart around. My race had absolutely nothing to do with my desire to maintain a slender build.
I can’t believe we’re even discussing this, how ridiculous. Here’s my story: I’m obese and I got this way from eating junk food and not enough physical activity. I also had a heart attack the year I turned 40 and had to have a stent put in. Had another added 3 years later. Promoting ‘fatness’ & an unhealthy lifestyle is dangerous. I can promise you that.
So sorry you had 2 heart attacks. But same here on eating junk food and drinking at least a Diet Coke every other day. Which I have tried switching to Diet Pepsi bc Coke deliberately had someone lie on Pepsi to rid them of competition. Some woke thing of racism.

We have a friend tho that died of a heart attack in his 30’s . He was thin and had a motorcycle accident and almost died. He gained weight while recovering and kept gaining. He was so welcoming and a great person other than his weight. Over 400 lbs. if not more. The emergency crew had to use a plunger to pull up on his chest to give him respiration’s . That ‘a how bad it was. He was the type of guy you didn’t notice his weight but the first time you met him bc he was that good of a person. His 12 year old daughter was the only one with him at the time and saw all that. Poor baby. God bless you and me and help us reach a heathy weight healthfully.

I’m thin because I lived in a family who had a working dad, 4 children and his mom living in a one bathroom house…my mother made one good meal a day..potatoes and meat and vegetables…then we were banned from the kitchen till breakfast. Toast and oatmeal. It wasn’t about being skinny it was about what we needed to survive. That’s my relationship with all food. ✌️❤️🌎 my father btw became the man who never had to worry about being hungry or poor, he started a family business.

It's considered hurtful & rude to tell anyone they're putting on weight or are "heavy". Yet, when people tell skinny people like me, they're "too thin"...that's OK. Very annoying to those of us who still have their high school wgt far into adulthood.
My Beautiful Mother used to make one meal a day, luckily I wasn’t picky like my other siblings.
I helped her clean up and wash dishes while everyone else was eating homemade pie .
Next morning she was up before I and said hey I packed you some leftovers if you care .

Good to know, I got my BMI down to 23.5 heading to 22, I am white Anglo Saxon protestant. Being thin actually stems from refusing to continue to put the poison that big food industry pumps out there. I rarely eat anything that comes from a box. No processed foods. I am eating for pain, losing weight is just a byproduct of that.

I gained some weight during lockdowns, naturally not by eating salads. I was still not overweight tho, but I couldn't run with my dogs, I couldn't pick up my dogs. My feet and legs were somewhat swollen. I couldn't breathe normally...why would I want to be sick?
