Publication of mugshots tend to show a particular demographic that is the source of many violent crimes.
And we can't have that now, can we.
I find it ironic considering some peoples obsession for recording and posting everything they do, particularly when it comes to doing crime for 'clout'.

I am a student of law whose age is 85.
My first year of college was 68 years ago.
One class I took was political science.
A half-page of my textbook essentially outlined a few steps to overturn a democracy. :
1. Divide the nation philosophically
2. Foment racial strife.
3. Cause distrust of police authority.
4. Swarm the nations boarders indiscriminately and uncodiabolicanightmarenstitutionally.
5. Engender the military strength to weaken it.
6. Overburden citizens with more unfair taxation.
7. Encourage civil rioting and discourage accountability for all crime.
8. Control all balloting .
9. Control all media.
What was printed in 1954 as a possible diabolic nightmare has evoke an emerging reality. I hope that Americans will unite enough to pen a good finish

Kat has a serious attitude problem. While it's true, I can't stand Greg's ego it's also true that I think Kat has gotten so full of herself, and she gets so defensive, rude & b*tchy whenever her points are challenged. It's gotten to the point where I no longer watch the show live and only watch clips on TH-cam (sometimes). I would absolutely love to see Joe Mackey &/or Jamie Lissow on as the new regulars... Hi. I don't care what studies Kat has read, she is out of her mind. I'm NYPD 23 yrs. I lived thru Dinkins, what a joke he was. The Rudy. While he didn't treat us well, Broken Windows very quickly turned NYC into a clean are thriving city. There were no 50 time arrested repeat violent offenders, unlike the revolving door injustice my city has devolved into. Read alk the studies you want, but I lived it. Not quite the same.

I don't think mugshots should be published until the person is either convicted of a crime or they're actively being looked for. Our county used to put out a "mugshot photo album" every month. Most of the people featured in it had not yet been convicted of a crime. Simply being arrested is not a conviction and people who haven't been convicted are by definition to be considered "innocent until proven guilty."
If you're mugshot is published to the general public it most certainly puts the perception that these people are guilty out there. If someone has been convicted or is actively being searched for, then most certainly it's should be fair game. But just being arrested and charged ?? I'm sorry, no.

I lived in a small country town in north Queensland (Australia) and we had no cops for miles around. Our local paper would print pictures of anyone in the area that had done anything bad, shoplifting, B&E, thuggery, etc... All the shops had pictures on the wall of these people. Those people left town very quickly because they were ostracised and we all treated them like dirt. A cop would roll around once a fortnight and scoop up anyone stupid enough to stick around. But their lives were over in the towns surrounding, couldn't shop, couldn't go to the pub, nobody would rent to them, nobody spoke to them and they were watched like hawks when out in public. The system works. Show us the baddies, we want to know who they are and what they've done.
We use to do that here in America. Now it's only in Conservative areas. We have much lower crime rates than these large cities.

And the killers were released in 20 hours? In alll fairness, has anyone ever been satisfied with their picture by the DMV? I don't know but I don't think I have never seen a drivers license or state id photo that is much better than most mug shots.
When I lived in San Francisco, I could make an appointment online for the DMV. Show up at the appointed time, in and out in 15 minutes or less -- a paragon of efficiency and customer satisfaction. Everywhere else it's a nightmare.

I got my last DL photo a year and a half into the Covid lockdown. I was REALLY shaggy. I got a haircut and cleaned up the day after.
I actually had one that I really liked from 1996. I’ve managed to hold onto that photo. I figured it was a rare one.
Being 62 now, it’s nice to look back and remember when I was younger occasionally.

I think Kat is wrong about the broken windows theory as that's the policy that reduced crime in NYC when Giuliani was Mayor. This is real life data verses "studies" which usually find what the funder wants to find.

Mug shots allow for the investigation of charges of crime at the local level. There is the possibility that the federal intervention in local affairs can attach subtext to a photo that isn't factual or semi-factual subtext that is against an accident of birth, but a photo is more visually descriptive of a person than words about physical attributes.

Kat, you literally sound like MSNBC on that one. There is all kinds of empirical evidence. There are uncounted studies by the NYPD, none of which I can site, but I am correct and you are wrong. Always appreciated the little rifts between some of the regular cast, like Greg and Kat, but lately she seems to be taking it to a different level. I'm from Michigan, and want to be a fan of Kat, but she's making it difficult.

Kat has always been a downer on the show. It's unfortunate we get her nearly all the time while we get Tyrus part time (who has much better takes). Her humor is mostly around acting offended at Gutfeld's behavior and spouting off very simple mind libertarian takes with little thought behind them. It is a diversity of viewpoints, but not one that carries much weight.
Glad to see that FINALLY people are realizing that Kat has a lot of issues and she is not a good fit for the show. She is too self-centered and uptight. She , as well as Tyrus , aspire to be the King and Queen of late night . They sabotage Greg all the time.
