    These photos (one after the other) serve as a great vehicle for quiet meditation. A great departure from unnecessary daily thinking.

      Thank you for the feedback. My music has been used extensively for meditation over the years and is still played on "new age" relaxation radio channels. My aim was to create that vibe when matched to the photos.

    In Japan, to buy a Toyota Century (V-12 limousine), you had to show the salesman you had no tattoos. Toyota didn't want their premium car's reputation sullied by being the choice of the Yakuza.

    Wunderbar. The cleverly altered sign "strictly no elephants" gives pause to the little girl with toy elephant in tow. And the delivery of the mammoth computer!?

    The British actor Christopher Lee's mother was Italian. It must have been very gratifying for him to have been a part of Rome's liberation as a young British officer in WWII.

    Electronic tubes were each a 'transistor'. Transistors replaced tubes, this is why computers and all other electronics back then were so large, thousands of tubes. Today a modern iPhone has more than 15 billion transistors in one phone.

    Do you know where the 1918 radiographer is from? I'm guessing Germany or Britain?

    • @AmazingHistoricalPhotos
      @AmazingHistoricalPhotos  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching !!! I thought Germany also, but I found one source crediting it to the Royal Army Medical Corp in France, circa 1918.

      @@AmazingHistoricalPhotos My pleasure. I really like your uploads. I don't know why I'm slightly surprised the radiographer would be French since Marie Curie discovered Radium 🤷

      Mentioned to another subscriber recently that I flew to London, then drove all the way to Castle Doune in Scotland where they filmed the Holy Grail castle scenes. That's how much of a Monty Python nerd I am ...lol

    My era is the 1960's and 70's so I can remember some of the things in this video. The Monty Python pictures are great. My husband and I were glued to the TV and I think we watched every one of their episodes. I wish I had kept my VHS tapes so I could watch them now. What happened to them and I wonder if they are still alive and preforming anymore? Like these videos, but they make me feel real old!!

      Want to know how goofy I am when it comes to Monty Python ? I was born and raised in England but have lived in the US for several years. Few years ago I flew to England, then drove all the way to Scotland with a friend just to see Castle Doune... This is where they filmed The Holy Grail Castle scenes. Now that's a ridiculous pilgrimage !!! Thats how sad I am ....lol

    • @anndinoto
      @anndinoto ปีที่แล้ว

      @Amazing Historical Photos I could not have done a pilgrimage like yours, but I did mine on the programs that came on TV that had any of the Monty Python group. I'm bad at remembering names, I'm 75, but one of the members did a series where he went around the world describing places he went to, etc. He used an inflatable, clear plastic globe that showed the countries. I have the same globe that hung from the ceiling next to the TV for a very long time. They say the younger generation is crazy.

      I have lived in the states a long time so don't watch to much of the post movie stuff but I do recollect a travel show and I'm almost certain it was Michael Palin ... perhaps one of the other viewers can confirm. I do still watch Fawlty Towers whenever possible tho !

    • @anndinoto
      @anndinoto ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @AmazingHistoricalPhotos I think you're right about Michael Palin. In fact, the show ran a couple of seasons. I can see myself watching one episode where he's sitting in a bathtub explaining the size differences between English drain plugs and the ones that were used in the country he was visiting. Boy, I must have been young or very bored.
